We are on our second Goodman (Daikin) AC unit in this past year 2023/2024 and awaiting for our THIRD compressor replacement! Our AC repairman has been great however, we should have been given a choice of brands when replacing our old AC unit. We would never have picked this brand due to all of the bad reports. Piece of junk. My sister also was forced into a Goodman this year by her home warranty company and they immediately had leaks on a closed system. Would never purchase again. Spent $11K on a unit that was supposed to be a workhorse. It has broken three times in less than three years even with a service/ maintenance contract. The latest issue is with the evaporating coil. Even though it is insulated it began leaking and needs to be replaced. Initially 4lbs of Freon were pumped in it to keep it running- at a cost of $324. The coil is covered under manufacturers warranty but will cost $700 for three hours of labor plus any mor additional Freon. Do not buy these. They leak money. My HVAC company highly recommended them for their stability and now I am paying a great deal of money to HVAC company to repair.Daikin Comfort Manufacturing LP Response

PIECES OF JUNK IN MY OPINION. I WAS IN CONTRACT TO GET $95,000.00 OF MITSUBISHI HVAC. AT THE LAST MINUTE THEY CHANGED TO $97,000.00 OF DAIKEN. THE HOUSE IS OFTEN UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THE DAIKEN SYSTEM. THE TEMPERATURE VARIES FROM AN UNCOMFORTABLE HIGH TO AN UNCOMFORTABLE LOW. DURING THE NIGHT I SET IT AT 68 AND WAKE UP TO 73 TOO HOT TO SLEEP DEGREES. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE INSTALLER BRUNI AND CAMPISI PLUMBING AND HVAC, WESTCHESTER, ELMSFORD, NY REPEATEDLY. AFTER 2 YEARS THEY REPLACED THE THERMOMETER. SAME PROBLEM. I WISH THEY WOULD TEAR OUT THE SYSTEM OR FIX IT. I THINK BRUNI AND CAMPISI HAVE BEEN UNRESPONSIVE IN MY OPINION. $97,000 IS A LOT OF MONEY TO ME A RETIRED PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHER.Daikin Comfort Manufacturing LP Response

WARNING... Stay away from ******* HVACs. I regret not purchasing from a different manufacture. I've had the ******* AC unit for 2.5 years and have had nothing but problems since. My Rheem lasted 24 years and never had a single problem. At 11 months the capacitor to the condenser had to be changed out. According to my AC guy, this is a common problem with ******* units. After that I had significant mold growth (another common problem with ******* units). Now, at just over 2 years more significant mold growth so my AC company went above and beyond and removed, replaced and resealed the plenum. I have zero faith this will stop mold growth since increased humidity, week airflow (among many other issues) are very common with ******* units. This mold growth has also destroyed the wall next to my unit. ******* units are such garbage that AC companies suggest buying an additional ten year warranty. I've been told that ******* is the only company that offers this option--wonder why? By the way, my neighbor had to install a blue light because of the problems they're having with their ******* AC unit.Review from Phoebe F

After only a few days of operation, I began noticing the controller/remote temperature setting was NOT what the unit was putting out and that the humidity level was extremely high. For example, when set to 77 degrees the room was about 72 and the humidity would range from 68 to 74%. There does not seem to be a way to remove the humidity while maintaining a comfortable room temperature of around 77 to 78 degrees. This is a 2-ton unit in a space that should be easily manageable?!? The contractor has been out several times to diagnose and at one point the copper pipes outside froze up, he does not seem to understand the issue and says the new R32 systems may be having problems. As of late the compressor unit completely died and I was told my new part would be available in 2 weeks, and it’s been over a month. I contacted Daikin direcly and after over 20 minutes of their automated phone system, spoke to a representative that shuffled me around finally speaking to a Nabila in their Texas Headquarters. She was clueless as to the issues of my system even after providing all warranty data. She claims Daikins policy on parts is after 10 days the entire component should be replaced! This is NOT what my installer is telling me regarding the Tampa Daikin location's response! Leading me to believe that as a consumer I’m being lied to by Daikin as there is no reason for my contractor to mislead me. Nabila asked me to provide my contractor's information and that she would contact me directly in a few hours, however, after that she simply hung up on me, as such I have NO confidence this company will ever return any calls?!? I’m demanding a new unit be installed or a full refund of $3500.00! Daikin claims to be the BEST in mini split system worldwide with best customer service?!? I bought a Goodman system (Furnace and Condenser) Sept 2023, and it’s already not working for the Summer. The compressor is defective and I’ve been in sweltering heat in MD as a wait for this company to supply a compressor to their defective system. I’ve been waiting since July 19th, 2024 and only news from them as my family bakes is, “Its on the truck and will arrive soon”. It’s 100 ° in MD are you kidding! I will not buy another Goodman system nor recommend it. The customer service is absolutely terrible. I installed a Daikin "split system" a/c unit in my garage. I only use it occasionally when I'm working on my car in the garage. Therefore, it only gets used in the summer months and only for a few hours at a time. After only 2 years, and an estimated 100 hours (plus or minus) of use, it developed a leak in the evaporator coil on the inside unit! I got 2 estimates to repair the unit and both came in at about $2500 (that includes a "free" coil under warranty)! Daikin refuses to do anything to help out other than to respond with a canned "cut and paste" email telling me how proud they are of their products. I bought a $400 A/C "window unit" at my previous house and it is still running great after 12 years! I figured going with a MUCH more expensive A/C system would give me better cooling and dependability. Daikin has proved me wrong! PLEASE DO NOT BUY... Nothing but refrigerant leaks. Two heads replaced and now the coil on the outdoor unit. Then the contractors drastically over charge for the refrigerant which daikin or their distributor s .should be paying. Buy a heat pump save money what a joke.Daikin Comfort Manufacturing LP Response

Daikin installed January of 2023. For the first summer, ran great. However this May 2024 unit could not maintain temperature. Two tech visits with no resolution (Conditioned Air is the installer and local dealer). Third Tech diagnoses a failed EEV valve. Parts ordered and a week passes before I'm told it will be 2 more weeks to wait for parts. No timely updates from Conditioned Air. Yesterday they say parts are here and schedule today for repair. Get a call an hour ago, part arrived BROKEN and NO update on what to do next. Calls into service manager, VP of Service and no answer. Beyond frustrated.Daikin Comfort Manufacturing LP Response
