I had my Daikin unit installed less than two years ago and its becoming practically unusable. I paid extra to have my 3 units wifi enabled and it kind of worked for about a year, I would have instances where I turned the temperature down and it didnt register with the unit, but now whenever I attempt to do anything with the app the units will randomly start saying "Unit Disconnected." I tried right now to turn the temperature down with the remote because for some reason the temperature keeps gradually rising and THAT DIDNT EVEN WORK. I submitted a ticket to them and all I got what "We dont have any technical expertise you'll have to call your installer", (which is BS to have to pay a service fee to have contractors come out because even Daikin doesnt know their own technology.) But I have them come out, they cant figure it out, are on the phone with Daikin technical support (that apparently only the contractor can contact) and Daikin ends up saying "The wifi unit isnt ours is this other company you have to talk to them" an obvious blame shift, since the REMOTE DOESNT EVEN WORK PROPERLLY. The contractor then calls this other company and they say they made the hardware but all the software and logic inside is DAIKINS. Pay 18k to have this crap installed and replace my central air and it doesn't even work properly. I hear bs like "You have to split the frequencies on your wifi" which is more BS, fix YOUR crap not make people have to do stuff to their wifi, either way that didnt fix it either. I'm still under my 2 year warranty so you bums better actually help or give me my money back for your system that doesn't do what you said it could do. If your dealer has reached out to our technical support department and has diligently attempted to address the issue with multiple repair attempts, your dealer will need to contact the local distributor. They are the local point of contact and have been equipped with instructions to handle cases similar to yours. The distributor will assess the situation and determine the most suitable course of action moving forward. Bought a Daikin furnace it’s a big piece of CRAP! Turns off when it gets cold takes several times turning it off and on to get it running had repair man out several times and still a piece of trash! It’s been going on for 3 or 4 years now!Daikin Comfort Manufacturing LP Response

We had a new 6 ton unit installed at our church first it was 2 months late. Then after 6 month in use the coil failed waited 2+ months for the new coil. It was installed but there is another leak. Another 2* months still on part and the unit has to be used in emergency heat mode. Not what we had hoped for. These were brand new units, customer service is way below par. Not Veteran supportive I had a Goodman furnace installed April 2024 first time I used the new system this winter in October it didn’t work the contractor that installed because it way under the warranty he told me unit is faulty and they been having numerous problems just like this he contacted Goodman a few times and the call back takes a couple of weeks ..I called Goodman 11/4 spoke to Anna asked for a supervisor she gave me a ticket number and they refuse to speak to the owner who paid for the unit and said contact the contractor ..I told them we have no heat and veteran with disabilities..as of right now a company that say they support veterans I would stay far away ….Daikin Comfort Manufacturing LP Response

If you are already working with an HVAC company, and your technician is having issues diagnosing your unit, they are welcome to contact our technical support team for further assistance. Their department has been technically trained to be able to assist HVAC professionals when having trouble diagnosing a unit. If no resolution is met, our technical support team will advise your contractor on the next steps that will need to be taken. For further information regarding this process, please have your contractor call us, and we can explain in detail the process in which they will need to follow. Again, the contractors are licensed by the state, so we do not own their company, therefore, we cannot dispatch them to a property. We have support to assist them, but if they do not utilize our support team, there is nothing we are able to do as the manufacturer.

Goodman warranty is a crock of crap. A three-year-old unit has a hole in the evaporator coil and leaked out all of the refrigerant. so the warranty will cover the part, but will not cover the refrigerant. So obviously what was a crap part on behalf of Goodman is going to cost me $900 for refrigerant outside of the labor It’s already costing. That’s ridiculous to not stand behind your products better to cover the refrigerant that leaked out of your faulty partDaikin Comfort Manufacturing LP Response

We sincerely regret the difficulty you have experienced.
Our record in providing consumers with a well-designed, long-lasting product is among the best in the industry. However, despite the careful testing of each unit, problems can occur.
Should problems occur, we offer a Limited Parts Warranty. Replacement parts obtained from authorized distributors are new and the functional equivalent of the original part. The replacement part installed in your unit, inherits the warranty left on your unit. If there is no warranty on the unit, then the part has a one-year manufacturer’s warranty.
The request for a replacement unit is to be made by the licensed HVAC contractor directly to the authorized distributor. The distributor then will assess the situation, possibly send out a technical representative to evaluate the existing unit and then decide on whether they will replace the unit.
Please have your contractor contact his local authorized Goodman distributor and voice his concerns regarding your unit.

I live in Florida. They have a law that transfers the warranty to a new homeowner. My daikin has a 12 year warranty and won’t run out until 2029. Because I bought my house 31 days too early, they won’t transfer the warranty. The law took effect July 1st 2024. If the original homeowner lived here, they would be replacing the part. Because they moved, they now get to say “sorry, company policy won’t let us”. If I had delayed closing 31 days, they would be forced to cover it. The warranty hasn’t run out. No help or any care or compassion was given. I will tell this story to every single person buying a daikin, I hope that I can change many people’s minds to do business with a company that would actually care to take care of their customers when parts fail after 6 years of a 12 year warranty.Daikin Comfort Manufacturing LP Response

In accordance with the new Florida law, we are unable to provide registered coverage to secondary homeowners for homes purchased before 7/1/2024. I wish you would speak more plainly so people really understand what happened here. Because the law isn’t forcing you to help me, you decided not to help me. Don’t mince words, the law isn’t preventing you from doing the right thing here. In fact the reason the law exists is to force companies like daikin to do the right thing. Because I bought my house 31 days TOO EARLY I don’t have a warranty. It’s not too late. It’s not because the warranty expired, it has a 12 year warranty. You are hiding behind the law and getting away with vague responses to hide the fact that daikin could have helped and decided not too. If original owner still lived here you would be forced to help. If I bought 31 days later, you’d be forced to help. But instead I lose because of timing. So I’m sharing my story with anybody who will listen now. Maybe I’m spoiled working for a great company that is crazy for our customers, but this is just really bad business and when it is time to replace this system, it won’t be with daikin I guarantee. We are on our second Goodman (Daikin) AC unit in this past year 2023/2024 and awaiting for our THIRD compressor replacement! Our AC repairman has been great however, we should have been given a choice of brands when replacing our old AC unit. We would never have picked this brand due to all of the bad reports. Piece of junk. My sister also was forced into a Goodman this year by her home warranty company and they immediately had leaks on a closed system. Would never purchase again. Spent $11K on a unit that was supposed to be a workhorse. It has broken three times in less than three years even with a service/ maintenance contract. The latest issue is with the evaporating coil. Even though it is insulated it began leaking and needs to be replaced. Initially 4lbs of Freon were pumped in it to keep it running- at a cost of $324. The coil is covered under manufacturers warranty but will cost $700 for three hours of labor plus any mor additional Freon. Do not buy these. They leak money. My HVAC company highly recommended them for their stability and now I am paying a great deal of money to HVAC company to repair.Daikin Comfort Manufacturing LP Response

PIECES OF JUNK IN MY OPINION. I WAS IN CONTRACT TO GET $95,000.00 OF MITSUBISHI HVAC. AT THE LAST MINUTE THEY CHANGED TO $97,000.00 OF DAIKEN. THE HOUSE IS OFTEN UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THE DAIKEN SYSTEM. THE TEMPERATURE VARIES FROM AN UNCOMFORTABLE HIGH TO AN UNCOMFORTABLE LOW. DURING THE NIGHT I SET IT AT 68 AND WAKE UP TO 73 TOO HOT TO SLEEP DEGREES. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE INSTALLER BRUNI AND CAMPISI PLUMBING AND HVAC, WESTCHESTER, ELMSFORD, NY REPEATEDLY. AFTER 2 YEARS THEY REPLACED THE THERMOMETER. SAME PROBLEM. I WISH THEY WOULD TEAR OUT THE SYSTEM OR FIX IT. I THINK BRUNI AND CAMPISI HAVE BEEN UNRESPONSIVE IN MY OPINION. $97,000 IS A LOT OF MONEY TO ME A RETIRED PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHER.Daikin Comfort Manufacturing LP Response
