Have owned a Diakin for just over 1.5 yrs. Warranty sounded good, but doesn't cover labor and anytime we need a part they say 180 days. ***, it is not worth the price. Biggest pile of crap I have ever owned and customer support is terrible.Daikin Comfort Manufacturing LP Response

We’ve never had a Daikin HVAC system but that’s what our builder chose. We have 2 units and the upstairs unit is fine but our downstairs unit has been nothing but problems the last 5 years. In the summer, it would run non-stop and in the winter, it would always run on aux heat. We’ve had it serviced 5 different times and he made a comment “we get calls on these all the time”. One technician discovered that the sensory board keeps tripping but it can’t be fixed on the unit. We don’t know it’s tripped because it doesn’t display anything on the unit and then I get my electric bill and it’s $300 higher than normal and that’s when we know it has happened again. For a unit that’s 5 years old, this is getting very old and I’m tired of ridiculous electric bills are having to send my husband out to the unit to take off the cover and see if it’s tripped. Won’t be buying this brand ever again!Review from Nickolas J

They ran two wires in the path of a copper pipe. The pipe gets hot and it melted the wires causing a short and costing me $600+ in a single year. They're clearly not competent by any measure. Absolute trash brand! Avoid at all cost! Honestly, I wish I could sue them for such a poor design. We make every effort to manufacture products of only the highest quality. Daikin’s record in providing consumers with a well-designed, long-lasting product is among the best in the industry. However, despite the careful testing of each unit, problems can occur.
As a manufacturer we will advise you it is impossible to predict the life of any one part, so we provide a warranty to assist with repair costs.
Our Limited Warranty covers replacement of a failed part, should a part fail. This warranty does not cover labor, service charges or any other cost associated with the repair. This warranty does not cover refrigerant, shipping charges, down time, utility costs or replacement of a unit or reimbursement for a part, etc.
A licensed HVAC contractor must take the failed part to a local (Brand)’s distributor. A distributor provides a new part as an exchange for the old one. The homeowner is responsible to pay labor and service to re-install the new part.
The original installer is licensed through the state in which service is rendered and an affiliate of the distributor for the area. They are independently owned and operated companies and are not authorized or employed by (Brand)’s Manufacturing Company.

I have a daikin heat pump installed in my home. It is only 3 years old and under warranty. Since the start of winter I have had numerous issues with my system. I have had the same part replaced 3 times and have spent over 2000 dollars on what is basically a brand new furnace. Daikin customer service and tech support has been basically non exsistent and helpful. They are rude and dismissive to both me and my certified technician. I have small children in my home, and need a reliable source of heat which I have not had since the start of this winter. Daikin does not care, nor is concerned the system which I spent a ton of money on is failing. My service rep is actually switching brands that he is going to sell because of how bad this has been.Daikin Comfort Manufacturing LP Response

Just had a Daikin HVAC installed less than a month ago to replace 14 yr old Lennox. Regret every second not going with another Lennox. It has been nothing but issues since day 1. It has never heated correctly, thermostat is constantly reading 4 degrees higher than thermometers in rooms so rooms are so cold have had to turn thermostat to 74 to have temps in rooms at 68-69 and still cold. The thermostat also drops and raises significantly when turning on and off. Gordon’s then changed ducting and added dampers to fix issue but didn’t fix problem. Then they moved the thermostat, which only fixed the significant increases and drops. The temperature differences is still not fixed. Last night rooms were 75-77 while thermostat shows 73 and constantly runs for 10 mins then turns off and then starts again within 20 mins. Can’t know yet how bad gas bill will be from this unit. No way to know if will have similar issue when AC is needed. This is horrible and don’t want to hear one more time “thermostat is so sensitive”. It clearly is so sensitive it can’t pick up correct temperature. Thermometers are sitting at same level as thermostat. Have told company that installed if not fixed soon, will be insisting to have entire thing replaced with Lennox. Never had any problems with different temps in rooms, set the thermostat and left it alone and highest setting was 72 degrees for heater, never 74. Absolute Junk!Review from Aaron A

I had my Daikin unit installed less than two years ago and its becoming practically unusable. I paid extra to have my 3 units wifi enabled and it kind of worked for about a year, I would have instances where I turned the temperature down and it didnt register with the unit, but now whenever I attempt to do anything with the app the units will randomly start saying "Unit Disconnected." I tried right now to turn the temperature down with the remote because for some reason the temperature keeps gradually rising and THAT DIDNT EVEN WORK. I submitted a ticket to them and all I got what "We dont have any technical expertise you'll have to call your installer", (which is BS to have to pay a service fee to have contractors come out because even Daikin doesnt know their own technology.) But I have them come out, they cant figure it out, are on the phone with Daikin technical support (that apparently only the contractor can contact) and Daikin ends up saying "The wifi unit isnt ours is this other company you have to talk to them" an obvious blame shift, since the REMOTE DOESNT EVEN WORK PROPERLLY. The contractor then calls this other company and they say they made the hardware but all the software and logic inside is DAIKINS. Pay 18k to have this crap installed and replace my central air and it doesn't even work properly. I hear bs like "You have to split the frequencies on your wifi" which is more BS, fix YOUR crap not make people have to do stuff to their wifi, either way that didnt fix it either. I'm still under my 2 year warranty so you bums better actually help or give me my money back for your system that doesn't do what you said it could do. If your dealer has reached out to our technical support department and has diligently attempted to address the issue with multiple repair attempts, your dealer will need to contact the local distributor. They are the local point of contact and have been equipped with instructions to handle cases similar to yours. Bought a Daikin furnace it’s a big piece of CRAP! Turns off when it gets cold takes several times turning it off and on to get it running had repair man out several times and still a piece of trash! It’s been going on for 3 or 4 years now!Daikin Comfort Manufacturing LP Response

We had a new 6 ton unit installed at our church first it was 2 months late. Then after 6 month in use the coil failed waited 2+ months for the new coil. It was installed but there is another leak. Another 2* months still on part and the unit has to be used in emergency heat mode. Not what we had hoped for. These were brand new units, customer service is way below par. Not Veteran supportive I had a Goodman furnace installed April 2024 first time I used the new system this winter in October it didn’t work the contractor that installed because it way under the warranty he told me unit is faulty and they been having numerous problems just like this he contacted Goodman a few times and the call back takes a couple of weeks ..I called Goodman 11/4 spoke to Anna asked for a supervisor she gave me a ticket number and they refuse to speak to the owner who paid for the unit and said contact the contractor ..I told them we have no heat and veteran with disabilities..as of right now a company that say they support veterans I would stay far away ….Daikin Comfort Manufacturing LP Response

If you are already working with an HVAC company, and your technician is having issues diagnosing your unit, they are welcome to contact our technical support team for further assistance. Their department has been technically trained to be able to assist HVAC professionals when having trouble diagnosing a unit. If no resolution is met, our technical support team will advise your contractor on the next steps that will need to be taken. For further information regarding this process, please have your contractor call us, and we can explain in detail the process in which they will need to follow. Again, the contractors are licensed by the state, so we do not own their company, therefore, we cannot dispatch them to a property. We have support to assist them, but if they do not utilize our support team, there is nothing we are able to do as the manufacturer.

Goodman warranty is a crock of crap. A three-year-old unit has a hole in the evaporator coil and leaked out all of the refrigerant. so the warranty will cover the part, but will not cover the refrigerant. So obviously what was a crap part on behalf of Goodman is going to cost me $900 for refrigerant outside of the labor It’s already costing. Our record in providing consumers with a well-designed, long-lasting product is among the best in the industry. However, despite the careful testing of each unit, problems can occur.
Should problems occur, we offer a Limited Parts Warranty. Replacement parts obtained from authorized distributors are new and the functional equivalent of the original part. The replacement part installed in your unit, inherits the warranty left on your unit. If there is no warranty on the unit, then the part has a one-year manufacturer’s warranty.
The request for a replacement unit is to be made by the licensed HVAC contractor directly to the authorized distributor. The distributor then will assess the situation, possibly send out a technical representative to evaluate the existing unit and then decide on whether they will replace the unit.
Please have your contractor contact his local authorized Goodman distributor and voice his concerns regarding your unit.
