I contacted the merchant told them someone did fraud and use my account for a purchase i din not make called my bank but ******** told the purchase was correct bank ask me to contact the again i did still dont want to investagate and give me my money they stoldBusiness response

I have contacted this more than once regarding my account , I keep getting charged. My account keeps going up and even though I am making double payments biweekly , I have called more than once to get an answer but I keep getting told different things one person told the payments was 512 but now its 611 but i dont understand were my payments i made on my accounts dont seem to lower my amount of the purchased item. the company has treated me very disrespectfully and i have just been trying to pay on my account and come up with a medium agreement to pay my account off. this company has caused me so much stress and rudeness from customer service , I am also reporting them do to i am simply asking for help on my account to not run into financial issues and avoid late payments. i told them i do have a disability but they keep treating as if i don't understand which sometimes i do not but that does not mean treat me as if i am completing not able to understand . I wish to never go through this company again , plus i feel like the payments i have made or not moving my account which something is very off . please help me because i cannot get any help at all.Business response

I leased furniture through progressive leasing in November of 2023, I was then living with my fiance. In March of 2024 I left my fiance due to him using drugs and I moved from the apartment. At the time the payments for the furniture was on auto pay directly from his bank account at **********. Once I noticed that the payments weren't being made, they were bouncing a week here and there. On May 11th 2024 I noticed the account was over $600 past due. I called progressive that day 5-11 and requested that the furniture be picked up, I wanted to return it. I was told that I would have to take pictures of the furniture before they would determine to come get it. I explained that I was not in touch with the person that lived there but would make arrangements to meet them there so they could get the furniture. Still she told me that I needed the pictures before anything could be done.Today is May 20th, I finally got in touch with apt manager to see if she could help. She informed me the person was evicted and the furniture he left behind was hauled off. So now I'm stuck paying for furniture I do t even have all because they didn't come pick it up 2 weeks ago when I called. They suggested to report it stolen, but isn't that filing a false police report and I can get in trouble for that.Business response

I purchased a riding lawnmower from Lowes using progressive leasing. They was never clear on the actual start date of the first payment that being said they did not charge my account like they were supposed to until the following pay. Period where they said I was behind in charged double I did not have the money for a double payment that was not what we agreed upon it threw my account in the negative, I have tried to contact them numerous times and work this out with them but when I talk to somebody, they always end up hanging up the phone or they refused to answer my phone calls. Now they are continuing to hit my account throw me further and further in the negative , they are a very bad business. I do not recommend anybody using progressive leasing. I just want this payment arrangement taken care of or they can come get their productBusiness response

I purchased a mattress from Mattress Firm on 5/13/2023 for *******. I called on 5/29/2023 to do a price match for $899.00 from the Sealy website. I called Progressive to pay the account in July but the balance wasn't reflected. I called back in Aug still nothing spoke to **** in Sept who again stated it wasn't updated. Progressive had been debiting my account every ************* Firm changed the price on 9/05 to $849.99. I had been in contact with MF for months to try and resolve this issue. I had called Progressive to stop pulling from my account but was told they could only change cards or accts but they had to continue to charge me and I could pay off the account which was now over the $849.99. In Jan my bank acct was overdrawn due to Progessive continuing to take money from my account. My bank acct is now closed and MF is no longer able to assist with this and now telling me I can return the mattress but that I no longer owe them I owe Progressive. I am not seeking a refund, even though I'm owed one, all I want is for this account to be closed and resolved. I now have a closed bank account on my credit plus late payments due to this issue. Please just close this account and resolve this issue! This has been the worst experience and will definitely not be recommending or using this service again!Business response

I have a contract through Progressive Leasing for some items that I bought at Biglots in Medford, Oregon. I was planning on baking my pay it off with 90 days because I’m a California resident and was figuring that amount out when I suddenly realized I was being charged sales tax for an item that was purchased in a state that does not charge sales tax and it was not on the invoice. I called the company who proceeded to tell me after I got the second person on the phone that I needed to send them or business or tax laws because they didn’t have that information about organ not charging sales tax even though they indicated there was no sales tax on the invoice that they were financing for me. They proceeded to add to add sales tax to my cost of my items to pay it off and basically tell me to go suck a lemon and I wasn’t getting that income tax back and they were sending it to the state of California who was not even an entity in my purchase. I was in Medford Oregon. But I think that if they’re sending and I don’t know that they sent the money to California that’s what they say. Is this just to get an interest charge from people who pay it off in 90 days if they don’t have taxi just throw this on in the back door so maybe we don’t notice. I may be poor, but I’m educated so I don’t know what games are playing but refusing to stop charging me the tax for an item that there was no charge of tax on the invoice is a point that I file a complaint with you and Oregon and the state of California tax boards also. I’ll leave this in your hands as indicated I would like the $20. already paid.I just want this type of practice stopped before they devastate somebody financially .Sorry for the rambling you may contact me back or not. I am rejecting this response because:I spent an hour and a half talking to two different representatives trying to get a question answered of how you are charging California sales tax on an item that was purchased in Medford, Oregon a different state that does not charge sales tax. I was told that I had to get the sales tax records from Oregon to prove they don’t charge sales tax even though the invoice had no sales tax from the state of Oregon applied to it. It was a flat charge for the items. No sales tax included on the invoice that was sent to Progressive. the customer service reps were very dismissive. Think they truly thought I would contact any other agency. I would just continue to pay sales tax on an item that I purchased an organ that they have advised me was being paid to the state of California. If they want to email me the correct balance owed of the amount that was the original invoice minus the payments that I’ve made and what is owed for the 30 or 90 day payoff they may do that , but just close this out no, I don’t trust this company and I’m having a surgical procedure tomorrow and I don’t need the stress of having to start this all over again when they turn around and tell me when I do get hold of them they’re just gonna continue to act as a tax agency and apply a tax to an invoice that had no tax originally charged on it . I want this resolved. All I want is the correct honest balance without telling me they’re gonna have to do this and that and get the money back from the state of California I just don’t trust them now not after an hour and a half of being told they weren’t gonna stop charging me the tax already . I apologize to the Better Business Bureau at this point. I don’t want this out. They have my email they may contact me through that.

I am rejecting this response because:This purchase was made in the state of Oregon, which does not charge any sales tax. These two items are in the state of Oregon. They were bought a gift from my daughter who lives in Oregon. These items have never been to the state of California, nor they ever going to be located in the state of California they are located in Medford Oregon.
Per the California tax code, I have submitted in writing multiple times already that these items will never be in the state of California have never been in the state of California we never purchased to be brought to the state of California. They were purchased as a gift in the state of Oregon, yes to save me the money of the sales tax since I was up here doing it for my daughter anyway. being punished for buying my daughter gift in a state to save some money on sales tax as I have SSDI only as an income thanks to a great Workmen’s Comp. entry and an idiot who didn’t stop their car and hit me when I was stopped when they were going 65. so every dime counts, every medication I pay for counts more is being able to do something for our family and trying to do that and paying the price of this company, not following the tax laws as I have put the links in here and put the information for the state of California. I have already done this and they still are telling me they’re going to charge it I sent them multiple emails with all the information that I can find on Oregon and California sales tax , but I think the link I’ve placed here is the one that to the heart of the and I feel I have fulfilled my obligation unless they want this notarize which I advise them to let me know and I will have that done immediately that these items are in Oregon, we’re always going to be in Oregon or never met for California . I don’t think I’ve misread this tax code. But if I have kindly let me know so I may profusely apologize to this company thank you very much. I appreciate your intermediary services on this issue. As a sidenote, I do have cirrhosis on my fingertips, so it is very painful to type. I use a lot of voice text and sometimes things don’t come out as clearly as they should, but I think my meaning and the tax law is clear unless as I said, I’m confused.
The sale is taxable even though the fabricator may later ship the property out of state according to its contract with the customer. In addition, if you deliver an item to a California resident at an out-of-state location, you should apply tax unless the purchaser states, in writing, that the item was purchased for use outside California.

I have called progressive leasing several times and ask them to take my bank account off of my account that that I have with them. I called last week on Friday and asked them to remove the bank account I get an email from my bank this morning that says they tried to draft my payment today that is the third time that they cost me fees with my bank. When I called last Friday I told them I was sending a payment out via money order The payment has been sent out but they keep drafting my account.Business response

A $1900 line of credit to use @ *****'s Jewelry was approved by Progressive Leasing on 4/17/2024 for someone who fraudently used my personal info, along with my friend's email address. (At 63 yrs old, I had never heard of Progressive Leasing, nor had ever bought expensive jewelry.) Once I read the several emails my friend forwarded to me from Progressive, I immediately called Progressive @ ************. A heavily accented man refused to cancel the acct, saying customer srvc from *****'s had to call & ask that they close it. Since 1 of the emails stated the $1875 diamond bracelet would be p/u @ the **********, ** *****'s store, I immediately called that store @ ************ & spoke to ****. After speaking with *****'s online customer service, she quickly called me back & informed me their customer service had canceled the order after reviewing the info. I then called Progressive back, told the heavily accented man AGAIN that the fraudulent acct needed to be closed immediately. While I was spelling my last name, he hung up on me. I purchased a display bed from biglots though progressive. I was told it would be $900 for the full price since it was a display and was severely damaged. I made about 3-4 payments then the total went up to $2000. Don't use this company they will lie and steal your money.Business response
