I had a homeowners policy with Bamboo. I found a better deal 2 months prior to renewal, and cancelled my policy. My mortgage company paid both policies in error. bamboo sent my check to the wrong address. They had my correct mailing address on file prior to cancellation. They told me that although it's their error, I have to wait 30 business days before I can call back and request ANOTHER check. They can make no exceptions. I am filing a formal complaint against Bamboo Insurance regarding the mishandling of my homeowners insurance claim following a devastating house fire in October 2023. The experience I have endured with this company has been disheartening, deceptive, and completely unprofessional.Despite submitting a complete and detailed personal property loss inventory totaling over $556,000, I was given a grossly low settlement far beneath my policy limit of $370,200. I was promised by my adjuster that once I submitted an updated, itemized list with conditions, brands, and approximate valuewhich I did in fullI would be paid out accordingly. That did not happen.Instead, I was repeatedly misled and asked to resubmit evidence and receipts, even though I had already provided everything they requested. I have been left in limbo with no clear communication, no full reimbursements for moving expenses, electronics, appliances, or other large items. Some of these items were approved and verbally confirmed, but no payment ever followed.Additionally, bills remain unpaid to my demolition company and engineer, and I am now being contacted by those vendors for paymentexpenses that should clearly fall under Bamboos responsibility per the policy. I have also requested clarity multiple times about the utility and ongoing costs at the damaged property, and received no clear answers or resolution.I believe Bamboo is not operating in good faith. They continue to delay, deny, and manipulate the process, taking advantage of policyholders during times of crisis. I am exhausted, emotionally and financially drained, and feel as though Ive been bullied by a company I trusted to protect **** respectfully request that the BBB investigate Bamboo Insurance for their unethical claim practices and lack of follow-through on policyholder obligations.Bamboo Insurance

I recently submitted a claim due to a leak from the rain. They sent out a mitigation company to inspect, and then had to send another inspection company with little explanation on why or the purpose. I had the option to sign a work authorization when the first ****** came, but Id have to keep all equipment in my home until I got word of approval or denial. If denied, Id be responsible for all costs from the equipment in my home. I was not informed of this. Next, and the most frustrating is that I am getting no communication from my claims adjuster, but apparently every 3rd party servicer is getting updates stating that I am denied. I HAVE RECEIVED NO COMMUNICATION ON THIS. Why is another company receiving any updates or status on my claim before me? So now, without any formal denial and any room to appeal, etc. I am getting solicited to pay for the services out of pocket. All these companies were supposed to be sent to my home to inspect, but now I feel like I had a predatory inspection and claim just for everyone to get a paycheck. I will be making complaints on every avenue possible and no body will be getting business from me. I will also be switching insurance companies.Bamboo Insurance

New claim due to a slab leak on 08/29/2024 Bamboo States 9/4/2024, Bamboo Insurance failed to collect the correct information We did not hear from Bamboo for almost a week so I called but was unable to get anyone and the phone system would say We are experiencing a high volume of calls, please try again later. After repeated calls to Bamboo, they finally contacted me on 09/18/2024 to schedule a inspection for 09/23/2024. On 09/23/24 I received a call from the field adjuster saying that he was at my residence, but no one was home. I responded to him stating that I am home in the front yard waiting. Bamboo sent the adjuster to the wrong address.The mitigation team came in and tore out all the damaged floor, walls, and entire downstairs bathroom and laundry room were gutted. October 3rd Bamboo stated they will be sending out a repair check to start the building back and get us back to normal.I received an email on October 11th that the check was sent, and I should receive it in 5 to 7 days.Octo 25th I called the insurance company, and they said it was sent, and I should receive it any day now. I was contacted by the new adjuster to let me know that the Check was sent to the wrong address and that they will need to stop payment and reissue the check. 11/20/2024 when I was informed that a new insurance adjuster was assigned to my claim. That makes 3 adjusters 11/23/24 I received an email stating that the check was mailed. The Check finally arrived on December 2nd and to my disappointment it was made out incorrectly and un-cashable. I feel currently they are fraud and have been dragging their feet. It has been a full three (3) months since I opened the claim and have not received a proper check to start the repair process that can take another two months to complete. I have missed multiple days of work just trying to work with Bamboo or the mitigation team and now on December 3, 2024 three months later and no work has started to repair any damage.Bamboo Insurance

On 11/10/24 we experienced an accidental overflow of water into our home which is fully covered by our policy. Bamboo was quick to hear our case and quick to explain the max coverage awarded is 5k, despite having 260k coverage for this type of loss. In communication with the company they cannot prove why this claim falls out of scope of our full coverage. Im shocked at how our case is being handled. Bamboo, please honor our policy and coverage immediately. We have a toddler and our health and safety should your number one priority.Bamboo Insurance

1 starIve been dealing with this insurance since my injury back in Feb. Ive already signed a settlement release that I had to settle for because their insurance rep ***** cant give me details in writing how they came up with the number they offered me. Ill get back from them is a bunch of excuses to not get my settlement check they keep giving me the run around telling me they have to wait for **** approval. Not to mention I went through 4 different adjusters. Im considering now filing a formal complaint and potentially hiring a lawyer now because this has gotten way out of control !!!!Review fromLorelei W

I would not recommend Bamboo to anyone. They took money out of my account and will not refund me. Every time I call, they inform me it takes 4 weeks, and then I need to wait to have the check reissued. So they keep sending me in in circles. DO NOT USE THEM, AND PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP FOR AUTO PAY, WHICH I DID NOT!!!!Bamboo Insurance

This is the beginning of the process which I am satisfied. So far I am satisfied with the process. The rep was helpful with what to expect. She didn't explain policy details & deductible.
