I fell behind on my auto loan due to medical issues. I emailed UCCU on 4/18/25 and asked if they could bring my account current and then I’d be able to make on time payments moving forward. I received a response from a representative that stated “yes, we can bring the account current.” I received no further communication. I reached out to the same representative on 5/1/25 and inquired about if any steps were needed on my end. I didn’t get a response. Today 5/12/25 the business repossessed my vehicle. This is a deceptive business practice as I was told in email they could bring the account current, didn’t do so, and then proceeded to repossess my vehicle.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
I am only “rejecting” the response as there are only two options and the other would close out the complaint. I appreciate you looking into this and look forward to your response.
Sincerely,

UCCU partially helped me with small claims issue. which they caused due to not following proper protocol. they sent a check for a auto purchase and didn't add info on the back to take the lein over to move the title to me so the other bank just released the title to the previous owner. the previous owner then kept refusing to sign title to me after and ran with the car. UCCU kept avoiding any responsibility and charged on collateral protection insurance due to signed agreement for loan. someone else had insurance on the car and uccu refused to remove **** I have talked to ****** site management and they said ************ in collections only had the power to refund the **** ************ has not sent any response to 3 emails now over a year and uccu is refusing to take any responsibility in their mistakes and the fact they took out insurance on something they had no claim or lein on.Business Response

Thank you for your feedback. I apologize for the frustrating situation you are in. I am aware of the situation from the BBB complaint and have been working with key stakeholders within the company to better understand the situation, UCCU's decisions throughout the process, and possible actions to help the situation. Certain key individuals have been out of the office, but a meeting is scheduled for later today. I wanted to acknowledge that UCCU has received the complaint and is actively working the situation. It is clear from the ** grade here, and the lack of response to those complaints, that UCCU does not care about their customers. UCCU has some great rates at times but they truly do not care about customers. Every time I call or visit a branch, even for simple services, it turns into an hour long, or longer, ordeal. I have asked repeatedly for management to call me back, am promised someone will call, and then no one calls. I have asked repeatedly for executive management to call me back, am promised someone will call, and then no one calls. I have asked repeatedly for a board member to call me back, am promised someone will call, and then no one calls. Additionally their bill pay and online services have serious bugs that they refused to fix.Do yourself a favor, find a credit union that actually cares about people and go there.Business Response

On April 13, 2022 I purchased a vehicle from Tim Dahle Infiniti in Murray, Utah. On April 18, 2022 I refinanced that auto loan with Utah Community Credit Union (UCCU). I have been making monthly payments of $399 to UCCU with interest from April 2022 to present day. On January 16 2023 I received a letter from a lawyer representing Cinch Auto (Tim Dahles Auto Financing partner) that I was being sued for never making a payment on my vehicle. This was very shocking since I have been making monthly payments with interest to UCCU with the understanding they paid off the Tim Dahle auto loan in April 2022 and possessed the title of the vehicle. UCCU sent the pay off check to the wrong location and never took possession of the title, but was still collecting my monthly payment with interest for over 10 months. Thus Cinch Auto is serving me and charging me over $5,000 in fines for failure to make their autopayments. After getting a personal lawyer involved, who has spoken to UCCU and Cinch Autos lawyers, everyone is claiming I am at fault and that I am to pay the Cinch Auto fine of $5,000. UCCU has been fraudulently charging me every month with interest on a loan that was never funded and is taking no responsibility for their wrong doing. I have documented proof of a wrongful check sent from UCCU, monthly statements from UCCU showing my honesty, UCCU loan agreement, and letter from Cinch Auto.Initial Complaint

I was sent to a debt collector Olson s***** attorney office to pay a repo for Utah community credit union. I owed 2,000 and something to them before it got took. I was then garnished and I paid infull of what was asked. I tried to close the account with Utah community credit union and they said I owed them a fee for them sending it to the debt collector for 2,000 and some change and that they wouldn’t close my account till it’s paid when that fee would of been included in the fee I paid with the debt collector Olson s***** which cost me 5500 and some change. Utah community credit union told me in November sometime of 2022 that once I was paid off from the debt collector I could call back and close the account which I tried on January 6th 2023 and than was told I owed them a fee of 2000 and change to close the account for them sending out to a debt collector.Initial Complaint

I have a car loan with this institution. I was behind on my payments and was informed that my car could be repossessed. I spoke with a collections agent named Andrew T**** on Tuesday, November 1. I made a payment right away and informed him (as it was late in the day) that the next day I would either be refinancing the loan through my other bank or paying the balance in full. He said “just to pay it as soon as I could.” Never at any time did he tell me that payment needed to be received that day in order to avoid repossession. He knew my intention was to take care of it one way or another the very next day and told me that was fine. The next day I left work and my car had been repossessed. I have spoken with him and my mom has spoken with him and he admitted that he didn’t tell me it had to be paid that day and admitted that he “didn’t get the repo stopped in time”. They are charging me over $1,000 to get my car back. We attempted to talk to the manager, but Andrew claimed he was gone for the week and said there was no one else we could talk to. My suspicion is that he either just didn’t do his job or they knew they might be losing the loan when I refinanced so they decided to go ahead with the repossession that day. When we call this credit union, they state that calls are recorded. We would like that conversation to be accessed to prove that Andrew T**** told me the full amount didn’t have to be paid that day. We suggested that we be able to access that conversation but now they claim that they didn’t record “that conversation”.
