1 starAggressive and Ill-Timed Door-to-Door Sales I dont normally leave negative reviews, but this experience with Vivint Securitys sales tactics crossed a line.A Vivint salesman came to my in-laws' housewho live next dooraround 8:30 PM, right at sunset. We were all settled in for the evening. He rang their doorbell multiple times and, even after they clearly said "were not interested," continued his pitch. My father-in-law had to interrupt him with a firm Goodnight and close the door mid-sentence.Fifteen minutes later, he was at my house. The doorbell set off our dogs, woke up our child, and disrupted our evening. He began the same pitch and didnt respond to cues that I wasnt interested until I interrupted him and said ***********, two days later, hes returned in the afternoon to the neighborhood. I'm going to ignore him 'till he leaves this time, since I'm alone now. I've ordered a No Soliciting Sign, now. Something I never thought I'd need. I understand that door-to-door sales are part of the job, but showing up that late, disregarding clear rejections, and returning after the fact feels intrusive and disrespectful. 1 starThis company is a scam! The door knockers came around and sold me a bunch lies! He never said they would run my credit and open line of credit. He promised I didn't have to cancel ADT because they will buy out my acct. He never said that there was a monitoring fee and then boom there is one plus the ***** I was promised I would only pay so now I am paying *****plus *****. They want let me out the contract I was sold on based off what the sale agent said which was all fabricated! On top of that they have the wrong address for my account but still won't let me out of the contract! I wouldn't have signed up if I knew they ran your credit and used your credit to purchase equipment ADT DIDNT DO THAT! THIS COMPANY IS A TOTAL SCAM AND THERE EQUIPMENT DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. NO W I AM STUCK PAYING MORE MONEY TO ADT AND VIVINT! THIS SHOUKD BE ILLEGAL to send out sale agents that are basically scamming people and selling them dreams. What i trash company i wouldn't recommend this comfor anything. Then corporate is steady trying to sell my things after I told them their *** is misinforming people about their plans and products! 1 starI am writing in tears. Vivint has been so unkind; my panel went totally black over one week ago. I called Vivint and discussed with them my availability for service. I told them I am home Weekends and also work two days from home. I discussed with the scheduling agent a date and time for the appointment. I received a text message a day after the call to confirm a date and time we did not discuss. I called to escalate the issue and another agent told me that time was not available and pushed back the service another week. Whenever I call vivint the robo just tells me a fictitious date and time for service which never happens. I spoke to another agent again about the problem as the dates and time are fictitious. He says "and if you are not home those times the appointment will just be canceled." The gross disrespect of these unreal and fictitious appointments. No one ever comes out or call and my screen is still black. The last time I checked my payment was up to date. I write this because I want others to know vivint only have technicians to install their equipment but no one to service them. Their service technicians are all phantom. Two minutes ago I calledand the system says I see you have an upcoming app. Tomorrow June 12th fir 6:00am -10:00am. I NEVER DISCUSSED OR CONFIRMED THIS DATE AND TIME WITH THEM. 1 starThis companys practices are very shady. They take double payments from your account when you are not behind on payments. They are horrendous to make contact with. They shift blame and do not take accountability for their mistakes. When I tried to cancel service they harrass you by trying to aggressively up sale more services even when you try to tell them to cancel service. They all try to get you to get someone else to take over the account. They insinuate that you owe them for equipment that has been paid for for years. I would never recommend this company to anyone. 1 starI was told I would get a demo period for my device where if I was not happy with it after 3 months I believe I could cancel and have the equipment picked up. I tried canceling a month after using as I do not actually need it in my home. I had attempted it due to my mother passing and having more anxiety with just my sister and I at home. I also was NEVER told during installation they would put my name on a credit card for a $6k limit and put a $2k charge on it. I am young, grieving and raising my little sister and just wanted possible home security. I started getting charges and notices about the credit card and immediately wanted to cancel. They said I could not cancel unless I paid $900 which is fifty percent of the equipments total. I said that was never told to me or I would have never went through with my demo. I now have credit card debt and devices I do not want due to Vivint refusing to let me cancel my services with them. I cannot believe how easily they just ruined a lot for me, I need help with this.Review fromHenry C

1 starAs a Vivint customer, my frustration stems from a ********************** system that consistently fails when I'm away, often 1000 miles from home. The recurring issue of my system going "out of service" specifically when I'm out of town completely undermines its purpose.Vivint's customer service offers no solution without someone physically present at the house. This is absurd for a remote security system. When my system bricks while I'm away, and support tells me I need to be there to fix it, it negates every benefit. This Catch-22 leaves me feeling helpless and my home vulnerable.I invested in Vivint for remote management and peace of mind. Instead, I get a false sense of security and a system that fails when I'm most dependent on it. The lack of proactive communication about outages further erodes my trust. I cannot recommend Vivint, especially for those who travel frequently, as it simply doesn't deliver reliable remote security.Review fromKrystina P

1 starOpening our security door to bang directly on my front door multiple times. We don't answer, but that doesn't stop them from coming back multiple times. They leave our security door open and walk away after multiple attempts. Disgusting and invasive sales tactic. Even if I wanted a security system, I wouldn't get one from a company that encourages these practices. I left a yelp review and they had it removed because I wasnt using their services. 1 starDo not EVER purchase anything from Vivint. They are liars and you only have a 3 day trial instead of 30. They are pushy and these young kids they have selling the systems do nothing but lie for a commission. They lied and said that I wanted a downgrade and I wanted everything removed and then they said I had to pay way over $2,000 to get out the contract. They refused to help me and trying to more or less say I have to stay with them. I was suppose to get a refund of the equipment and I would have payed the balance. If you want to get an alarm system, please dont use Vivint. They are scammers!!!!!!!!!!!!Review fromMelissa G

1 starOn May 14th I had a vivint Agent come to my house and ask if we wanted the service, my first response was no and I should have stuck with NO. After coming up with a good price he convinced me to say yes. This was around 7pm in the evening. He then told me another guy would be by to set it up, I said today? It's already late. The guy came around 9pm that night. I was getting 3 cameras outdoors, doorbell, lock with code and flood lights. He stopped the installation around 12 something, midnight. He said he would come back tomorrow to finish. He wrote me the next day and said they were swamped so he had to get me another day. . Now today June 10th, 2025. . My installation is still incomplete, I'm missing a camera and the lock they put in on my door does not line up so I cannot lock my door through my phone or from the monitor. I have to manually lock it. I still have to use the temporary password they gave me because the installation is not complete yet. Also they ran a cord in the middle of my wall not the corner. At this point I have tried calling to cancel this service but they said my trial period ended on the 19th of May. My question is how can my trial period start when my installation was never complete to even start. Now that I want to cancel they want to come install the remaining equipment so that they can charge me for the full amount of the equipment I was suppose to get. I would just like to cancel and be done with this company. This has been a headache.Review fromDalene F

1 starVivint will not cancel my account, despite multiple calls and emails. They have a neat trick where they transfer your call around and each person you speak to says, "oh, I can't help you with that, but how about I send you a new camera for just $5 more a month..." - when you say "no thanks, please cancel," they put you on eternal hold so you have to call back and start the whole process again. This is consumer fraud.
