Transmission indicator light came on for 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, issue was not able to be solved so Tanner Transmission completed a service on the Transmission. When I picked up the truck approximately June 13 or 14th. A large dent roughly 30 inches long running right to left was found on the hood. Talk to Blain at Tanner transmission and was told to get estimates to fix the damage. Took it in to 4 auto body shops for estimates on fixing the damage. Lowest estimate was 1850 to replace the hood. The hood will need to be replaced can not be fixed. Blaine stated would give information to insurance and get back to me on the insurance claim. Left town for vacation, contacted Blaine again on August 20, 30, September 18th, October 4th, then on November 4 was told insurance company denied the claim. No copy of insurance claim has been provided to me. Tanner transmission is now stating they will only pay half of the cost to repair damage done to vehicle. The damage was done by Tanner Transmission, the damage is due to Tanner Transmission opening the hood and lifting the the truck with the hoist and hitting the rafters. This Information received from one of the Body shops is that this has occurs a lot with Tanner Transmission. Expectation is that Tanner transmission take full responsibility for the damage done and pay for the cost of repair in its entirety.

On August 31, 2023, we engaged Tanner Transmissions for a transmission assessment on our 2017 Volkswagen Jetta. They provided a repair estimate of $6,677.67, which we deliberated on before authorizing repairs on September 6, 2023. However, the service provided by Tanner Transmissions, particularly by Jim, was unprofessional with poor communication and service quality. Despite authorizing repairs, the repair process was prolonged, and additional issues arose, including the need to replace a speed sensor. When we attempted to retrieve the vehicle on October 9, 2023, it was incomplete, with unresolved issues and an illuminated ABS light. Tanner Transmissions claimed the vehicle was fully repaired on October 10, 2023, but new issues emerged immediately after payment, including irregular gear shifts and dashboard warning indicators. Upon return to Tanner Transmissions, Jim adopted a confrontational attitude and refused to reassess the transmission issues. We then took the vehicle to VW Southtowne for evaluation, indicating a severe lack of proper repair by Tanner Transmissions. Despite attempting to dispute the payment through our credit card company, Chase, we were unsuccessful. Due to Tanner Transmissions' failure to fulfill their contractual obligations and provide satisfactory service, we are exploring legal options to seek redress and accountability for their actions.

Took car to 9000 S. location to have trans serviced No problems at all. Was told that it need to be rebuilt. Had it rebuilt and it completely failed on the way home. They had the car from Nov 22 to Jan 23 when I got it back it did not shift right in shift lever Was told cable was worn. Had someone else look at and they fixed shift lever problem. Still had real hard 1/2 shift problem. Tanner said it was motor mounts but motor mounts were new. Had other mechanics look at and was told it was trans. Tanner kept telling me they were to short of mechanics to look at it so I let it sit until May. When tried to start in May it would not. Battery post had been twisted out with pair of pliers. When I took car to them they put on tester and stated that something electrical had failed and would not fix until fixed. This part was not bad but shift link was incorrectly positioned when installed by Tanner. If they had read what the tester told them to do they would have know this. If they were competent mechanics they would have known this. I paid another mechanic to fix this and took the car back to them to fix the hard 1/2 shift problem. They tried blaming the problem on the motor mounts again. I had purposely changed the mounts again the day before just to see if they would do this. They has also left the windows open Nov - Dec sitting outside and it was full of leaves had rained gotten wet, blown dirt. They got grease all over inside leaked trans fluid all over the paint and windshield. When I complained Jim handed me a rag. I paid another Transmission shop $3034.88 to try and fix what Tanner had done and they could not fix. They stated that they would try and fix the bottom end for another $1600.00 but I did not have the funds. Tried to go to small claims court but Tanner would not play in Mediation and Judge through out when she found out it had to be arbitrated. Have spent past several months trying to find an Arbitrator but just read that BBB will provide volunteer.

7-22-22 Dropped off 2005 Subaru Outback ****** told Blake he was going to college in St. George Aug 8, 2022. He was told it worries be done a week before he left. Was told additional work besides the transmission needed to be done … (Shift solenoid) ****** called multiple times beginning of Aug 2022 was told it would before he left. Friday before he left car wasn’t. This is where I (Dad) stepped in. I was told every excuse … short on staff, parts weren’t available. I asked when the car was going to be done they told me the following week I came back the following week more excuses finally was able to pick up the car on August 19 was told to meet warranty requirements I had to bring it back the next week I did as they instructed had it checked out and warranty information recorded took the car to my son in Saint George late August 2022. From here, bullet points due to lack of going into detail. Saint George shop fix the same problem. *A couple months later transmission started doing the same thing could not drive it all the way home had to tow it, but it was still drivable just at low speeds took it to tanner transmission on May 5th, 2023 Did not hear anything back from them for weeks we called weekly was told rear differential was bad got quotes. We had to come into shop to get quote after multiple calls and messages with no response. We said no to their quote asked to have transmission work completed so we could get the rear differential done at another location. They took over a week to make it available for us to tow. *They sabotaged the vehicle so it couldn’t be driven. Had to tow it to different company late July 2023. Again vehicle was drivable except for at high speeds we could not drive it to the next repair shop. We had to tow it.
