I am so tired of the companies that take advantage of the elderly!!!!! My parents called Grapple Plumbing company in ****************, ** to come and see what was leaking under their kitchen sink. They sent an electrician (not a plumber!) over who looked at it, took a few pictures, then told them they needed a new faucet. Their current faucet is only 3-4 years old and is a ****** brand. They wanted $700 to replace the faucet. My mom called me and asked if my husband could replace the faucet and we scheduled a time for the next day. My husband decided to recheck everything that the plumbing company employee had done and found NO leaks. NONE! So why was there water under the sink, you ask?? Because the caulking, which is about 12 years old, has cracked, water gets through and drips down the back and side of the sink when it is sprayed down. All the sink needs is caulking!!! Less than $15!! They've already paid $135 (their website says FREE QUOTES in one locations, FREE CONSULTATIONS in another) for the bogus plumber to misdiagnose the problem!!! I'm spitting mad!!! I'd leave ZERO stars if I could!

*********************** (the customer) called in on 08/26/2024 about a faucet leaking under the sink. Our office informed the customer there was a $135 trip charge before booking the job. He agreed to the charge and wanted us to book the job to look at his faucet and under the sink where he found water. The plumber (we don't and can't hire an electrician to do a plumbers job) who arrived found that the leaking follows the many cracks and gaps of the countertop. The plumber gave the customer three different options to fix the faucet. After researching the cartridge we informed the customer that we could not locate the cartridge for that specific ****** brand faucet. He gave a price to change out the faucet instead. The customer purchased his own new faucet after receiving the estimates and refused all. The plumber took pictures of the leaks under the sink showing water coming off of the cabinet, the broken countertops, and the 1/2" gap between the counter top and the backsplash, all areas that water could be seeping in. According to our plumber caulking is not something they would put on a faucet since they come with washers and gaskets to prevent leaking and still allow them to move. The only time caulking would be used is when a sink or countertop is coming apart. It would also be used at the joining of the countertop and backsplash and along the seems, It does no good when there is a 1/2" gap between them.
