I received a post card in the mail (at my home address) from Empower Homes in **********, **. The card claimed to have a "cash buyer" for a home my deceased father owned (still occupied and now solely owned by my step-mom). My name is not nor has ever been on the mortgage or deed for that home. It was inappropriate for the company to acquire my name, contact information and send me a post card to facilitate a sale. This seems to very likely be a scam. I called the company and requested to speak with the realtor on the post card but was suspiciously not available. I spoke with someone claiming to be her colleague and was given the run-around. I asked very specific questions about how they acquired my name and contact information and was given vague answers. This company needs to be investigated for misuse of personal information, fraud and potential scam. Beware if this company contacts you!
