My name is ***************************. I am currently enrolled at Strayer University. I received my financial aid disbursement on 7/16/2023. I received an email about my Direct Unsubsidized Loan for 19.00. I checked my account dashboard to see that they now say I owe them $1,042.00 I called the financial aid office, and she stated at the time of disbursement, the scholarship I am receiving did not show as it should, and that is why I they went back in and are now charging me. The 1,000.00 scholarship has been there the entire time on my account dsahboard before any other financial aid hits. It was posted on 04/14/2023 This is a complete scam, and I would like it to be investigated. I am almost done with my degree and have never had this happen.

Received notification about a balance of $4000+ owed due to an error (on their part) i was given a refund back in January 2023 and “supposedly” I shouldnt have been. Each semester i pay around $600 out of pocket to complete my classes which i can barely afford as is and this is what i am told. “ Hey ******** I got an update. We got approval to cancel the payment plan due next week for the payment plan. So, nothing should be charged to your card on file. They stated if you would like to renegotiate you would have to put 1/3 down which would be $1500.00. Regarding the balance on the account, I tried to see if it was anything else we could do but the balance is from a refund and unfortunately, they can’t waive money that was already a refund, so the appeal didn’t get approved on our side. If you want to further dispute it, then you would have to go to student affairs which is [email protected]. You can also try a Sallie Mae smart option loan if you want extra funding to try and help with the balance also. ******************************************************************“. I dont have the credit nor the funds to pay off an error they made not me. This feels illegal.

I am at about 26,000 in debt from student loans, I was given conflicting information about me being eligible for financial aid to be clear they kept the remaining of my funds and the price is constantly changing when it comes to fees and tuition. When I call the financial aid service team everyone gets an attitude and one man hung up in my face when questioned about the family contribution. On July 12, 2023, money was disbursed in the amount of 6,478, today July 27 the money disappeared from my dashboard and not even explained nor a trace of where it is. I am in shock of the lack of support and education from this school. I demand answers and breakdown of where all this money is going too. I have learned nothing from this school and i am a straight student with 4.0gpa. The lady by the name of ************************* straight up lied to me and has not responded to the forms I was supposed to receive. Thats just half of my complaint.

Again, the biggest issue that I have with the school is that theyre not being transparent with my funds, the financial aid, and a host of other different things pertaining to tuition in school. I am at lost to the financial aid part because one I dont make nearly enough money for me thats qualify for a financial aid and if Im over the age of 24, then why is my parents demographics use or even needed to begin with, also I stay in when I call the department Ive reached out to people Ive been hung up in the face on. I I have still not been fully given truthful answers, or even feel like Im pointed in the right direction, and if the money was already distributed to the school for my financial aid approval for the next Soso semesters, and even though I know the school is responsible and is over that money the way that money go do they send it back to the government or does it get pocket to the school, I never thought a day in my life actually try to do the right thing and go to school and learn the education that I would be cheated out of, and the quality of the education not live up to its standard. We all deserve a quality, education and fair, proper learning experience , now that Im asked from the financial manager about needing my tax transcript to the last two years she needs paystubs and a host of other information that came way before I even attended Strayer so again nothing is explained it all the short detailed and processed. I feel like I am being retaliated against, and I just want this issue resolved.

I am currently enrolled at strayer university I personally took some time off for personal reasons and I appealed my sap I submitted the required documents when asked along with a doctors note. I turned everything in on the deadline. I was then told with little to no time that they wanted additional documents. I read the review and the documents that were asked for were submitted in the sap appeal already. I was advised the next day that the deadline has passed. And I wouldnt be able to get my financial aid. I called many times and emailed to try and get clarity. I was placed on hold transferred placed on hold again for over an hour no one ever came to the phone. My emails went unanswered and I was threatened with sanctions by the coaches. Im a veteran of the army and Im just trying to further my education. I have hit roadblock after roadblock with strayer with no help at all. I cant afford to not have my financial aid I am on a fixed disability income for veterans. I have not received any help from deans or student affairs. I feel as if Im being given the run around and ripped off. I tuned everything in in a timely matter with supporting documentation and was still treated unfairly. Now I owe money to strayer with which I cannot afford

I received an email on 5/30 with a letter attached that I was being expelled due to providing my login user and password to have someone submit work on my behalf. I was wrongly excused of this because I never provided anyone permission yet alone give my user and password to anyone to do work on my behalf. I started Strayer and finished my degree with a Business Administration degree and continued at Strayer for my Graduate degree in Human Resources. To receive this shocking news when I was at the final weeks of my completing my degree in MS Human Resources was a surprise to me and very disappointing. Throughout my time at Strayer I have never did anything purposefully to violate any wrong doing. I feel that this decision is not correct and that I should be reinstated to finish my degree. I sent an appeal in only for it to be not approved and no actual reason why I was expelled. I have attached the appeal letter, and documents from the university. Why would they send me expulsions years after I finished my first degree and weeks before my last class was completed?

I don't even know where to start with this school, just incredible. I got accepted into this school back in February and I also got financial aid for the school. I was told that school started on April 3,2023 and I can't get aid disbursed because I still had active loans at my previous school. This was told to me back on April 6. I will attach the email. It was sent to both me and my student advisor. So after this was completed on the 4th of April which I will also include. After I fulfilled their requests and waiting for my disbursement, they come at me with UEH. Which is Unusual Enrollment Habits. So now they are just making things up. I even explained to them that one of the schools closed down and that's the reason I stopped going to that school. I even sent them that information as well. So that would have not been a UEH situation anymore, yet they still are pushing the narrative. I don't know what Strayer's issues are but I wish I would have researched them before I attended because I wouldn't have attended. They are so dishonest and just crooked. They say the schools motto is something to the sound of "we take care of our students". I told them how bad this was affecting me to get no response worth reading at all. I have been told nothing but lies. I want them to stop disrupting people's education for whatever agenda they have. It's just sickening and I wish someone would just do something about it so they can't do this anymore.

I would like for Strayer University to hold some high degree of morals and conduct and to accept the mountainous collection of documents they have acquired from me so that I can have my financial aid disbursed and can continue my education without any adversary. This is not only affecting my education, its also affecting my mental stability and life to where I'm starting to shut down. I have worked hard for where I am at and don't deserve to be held back anymore. And please do not respond saying things I have already addressed as in your department needs more documentation because there is no more documentation. I cannot get documentation showing you that the work was too difficult for me. Thus was 3 years ago when I went to the school and all the communication with the school I had was on an email that I do not have anymore. That's all that's holding me back from my funding which is ridiculous. So I would like my funding to be released to my student account. Thank you.

I need to file a BBB complaint against Strayer University.I'm incredibly unhappy and disappointed with my recent experience, and am forced to withdrawal from proceeding with my degree through Strayer due to lack on communication and compassion for the students.I experienced severe hardship during the Fall 2022 Quarter. My husbands grandfather was diagnosed with rapidly progressing lung cancer and did not have long to live. My husband and I travelled weekly from South Lake Tahoe, CA to Stockton, CA to assist with his grandfathers needs in his last of days. During this time I kept my professor updated in regards to my situation- and emailed the professor on October 29th, 2022 letting him know my husband's grandfather had passed- that I was still attempting to do my best in the class, but that I would unfortunately need to submit some work late. The professor responded with a very discouraging email back simply stating he would not grade late work. This of course caused me to drop immediately to a D in the class. Then when midterms came around- I received a 45/250 on my midterm due to using GAAP accounting jargon- the professor claimed I plagiarized when there is absolutely no other way to phrase the policies and procedures regarding GAAP. I absolutely feel I had been set up for failure since my first semester here at Strayer- but was determined to proceed and continue with my degree pursuit through Strayer. Last quarter- Winter 2023- was an exact opposite experience from my first here. I had an amazing time in my Quantitative Methods course, and passed with flying colors and obtained an A. Unfortunately due to completely failing my first quarter- I went from being on a Warning status to Suspended from receiving any financial aid. I was then directed to start an appeal regarding financial aid. I provided documentation and information about what lead to me having such a low GPA- and was told not to include my issues with professor as a reason for my standing, but rather to focus solely on my husbands grandfather passing- which I thought was very odd to be asked to omit my issues with professor as that is what absolutely let to me failing and my GPA becoming unsatisfactory. I complied with the request and submitted my appeal with proof of my husbands grandfathers passing and information regarding the situation/occurrence. My appeal was allegedly submitted April 6th, 2023- I requested an update April 11th, and have still not heard back, received any update regarding my appeal, or noticed any changes in my standing on the iCampus Strayer site.

Strayer University worked directly with the student to resolve. To date, no FERPA form was received, per our initial response in May 2023. More details can be provided to the BBB upon receipt of a completed and signed FERPA form.

I am currently a student with Strayer college online, enrolled in online classes for the Winter 2023 semester taking a Bachelors in Information Technology. They sent me a laptop to take my classes on. I have had said laptop for little under 2 weeks. My problem is I live alone with my 26 year old daughter who is a college student as well attending a different college, but i realized over the weekend that the laptop Strayer sent me was somehow hacked. For full disclosure: i do not go anywhere or do anything online that would pose a risk to get this laptop hacked. i simply watch ******* true crime videos for entertainment, which i enjoy, check my ***** email and talk on ******** Messenger with my 1 local friend and my mother. That is literally my online persona, in a nutshull. Nothing fancy, i lead a boring life you could say. Anyway, on Friday night at 2 am my anti-virus software popped up and told me "****** has turned on your camera" and i about fainted. I am 43 years old, Never have i seen that happen. I had heard it was possible, but i have never experienced such a scary thing. Then, later that night, i had sent some very important emails to my victims advocate due to me being a victim of a crime in my area, and following up on those emails, i was informed that she never recieved any emails from me. I started to get terrified then because i knew for a fact that i got the email address correct and i double checked that they were sent. They were listed in my sent box as such, so I almost had a nervous breakdown then and there, knowing that the laptop truly was hacked and that i could not on my own figure out how to stop it and fix it. So, I did the right thing and i reached out to my college, thinking they would be just as unsettled and disturbed as I was and be wanting to URGENTLY and swiftly get this problem fixed to rectify and minimize the magnitude of damage caused. They did not care at all. They basically told me i was completley ON MY OWN. THEY ARE A SHAM.
