I signed up for E&A in September 2023 after doing an hour long informational zoom meeting. I signed up for the 2 year membership because it was the most cost effective option and based on what I was told about the club I knew Id want to get the most time out of it. Turns out the person in the session lied to me about the demographics of the clubs members. E&A and its members were misrepresented in the informational meeting. I was told that there are "many wonderful men in their 30s" who are members of E&A and that was why I signed up. If I had known this was completely inaccurate and pretty much all of the members are a lot older than that, I never would've signed up. I went to a few events and by the time I had been to enough to figure this out, I was past the cancellation deadline. I've met other female members in their 20s and 30s and everyone has said the same thing. **** have told me that while there are female members within our age range, there aren't any men in their 20s and 30s. All of the younger women I have spoken to said they wasted their money and wished they could get a refund. By the time I learned all of this, unfortunately I was past the cancellation deadline.I reached out to the company anyway requesting a partial refund for the remainder of my membership given I signed that contract and agreed to the membership under false pretenses. I expected they would make an exception since I was lied to about the membership demographics and signed the contract based on this misinformation. The company refuses to.

****************** signed up for a 24 months membership with our club on 9/29/2023. We do not and can not promise any demographic information for our members. We constantly have new members joining daily, as well as others expiring. We can not give any accurate demographic information due to this constant fluctuation. Certain members in a demographic may attend certain events that we host. We will contact Ms. ******** Event Manager to help her find more events with members that match the demographics shes interested in.
Since ****************** is past the cancellation period in her contract, she can not cancel her account with us. We are happy to work with her and find events that are more tailored to what she needs. She would have needed to cancel by 10/04/2023, we did not receive a cancellation request until 01/06/2024.

Buyer Beware Events & Adventures has nothing in place addressing COVID concerns. I scheduled an event for 1/19/2024 however I went to the doctor on 1/18/2024 and was tested positive for COVID. The termination policy is 7 days, there is no way to know that I would have contacted COVID in advance. I contacted Events & Adventures and explained, even offered to give doctors notice, I was not even requesting refund, was requesting a credit to my account. Good news I was only out $18, imagine if I had planned a trip with Events & Adventures. **************** is not a concern for ********************** because you are stuck in a contract so they have no incentive to treat you with kindness or fairness. Use Caution when considering membership!!

We looked into this issue before reaching out to Ms. ******* Event Manager. She did approve for us to give her a credit back for the event, these have already been applied to her account to use towards future events.

I signed up for E&A last year in July 2023. I tried to attend 1-2 events but eventually they were cancelled due to some or other reason. Once it was due to nobody showing up and another time saying the organiser has been hurt from the previous event; not sure if any event actually takes place as for most of the events, not more than 1-2 attendees used to sign up.Anyhow, I paid for 3 months without using any of the services and then I had to change my city due to relocation(laid off from job) where there was no E&A. It has been 6 months of me signing up and I have been reaching out to their resolutions team for the last 3 months to terminate my membership but they are not ready to do so. Instead I was even told by them We are not cancelling and if you deny of the payments, the remaining charge will go on collections.I have never had such insecurity with any of the memberships previously. They have already deducted around 1000$ and still they are not ready to let me leave without having to pay the remaining 2100$. Even cancelling their membership after 3 days if signing the contract is not free.Kindly help me get a resolution here so that no further charges occur on my account. Thanks in advance.

****************** signed up for a 24 month membership with our club back on 07/22/2023. Per her legally binding agreement ****************** would have needed to request to cancel her account by 07/26/2023 to be valid for a refund. Due to us not receiving a cancellation request until 10/24/2023 the full remaining balance is owed to us. Our Resolutions Specialist has been in contact with ****************** since October of 2023 trying to find a resolution for her account.

In order to get the most out of our club its recommended that members attend multiple different events to get out and meet different people. If we had known of this issue sooner we would have gotten ****************** in contact with her Event Manager to help select other events for her to attend.  We do have a new Event Manager in ******* that brings a new atmosphere to the club.  We would highly recommend she try out some more events.
She was informed that payments are still owed to us, and if she defaults for over 90 days without payment her account is in danger of being sent to our third party collections agency. After reading over the email correspondence between our Resolutions Specialist and her we have taken her off of automatic payments. She will receive emailed statements for her monthly payments going forward, which she can then call in to pay.

On November 1, 2023, I did an interview with Events and Adventures where I spoke to the interviewer about my mental health, my suffering with anixtey and was very specific with what I was looking for in a club. The interviewer then told me that the club events and adventure is perfect for me . I have never been apart of the *********** attended any of the events, but she had, so she knew from my interview where I was very specific about the type of people I wanted to be around that the people in this club was not it. We went through every part of the paperwork except the cancellation and I even mentioned several times in my interview that "I'm ready to give it a try because I can always cancel if anything" and not once has she said to me once you sign up, you only have 3 days to cancel. The first event I went to was on November 4th so even if I was to cancel by their terms it would have been too late because it is pass the three days. This business is a scam they offer amazing rates to get you to sign up and pay in full, I was even baited to put the transaction on my credit card in full when I spoke about not knowing if my job was secure but the club was made to sound so perfect. Events and adventure was nothing at all like it was portrayed to me. There's a lot of drama, there was even discrimination in the group. I reached out to cancel and was told it's past the agreement deadline to cancel so I can't cancel despite the club being absolutely nothing at all as it was described to me which means they broke their agreement and words. They sold a lie to me in my fragile state as I was looking to break out of paralyzing social anxiety. They saw an opportunity and took advantage of me.

      Business response

****************** signed up with our services on 11/02/2023, he paid his contract in full for our one year price. We do have discounted rates if a member decides to sign up the same day, and they can save the monthly payment by paying their membership in full on the first day. Our Membership Representative gave ****************** all of the payment options available to him and let him decide which he would like to choose. We would never force anyone to sign up with us nor force them to pay their membership in full if that was not something they were interested in doing.

We have a broad range of members in each of our cities. We constantly have a new rotation as new members are signing up everyday and others are at the end of their contract term. We can not confirm or promise any specific demographics of our members as they are constantly changing daily. We make sure that all members are single and are a good fit with our company standards and guidelines.

Our cancellation policy is clear and direct on our contract. We expect all parties to read through our policies before signing their agreement to them. We understand how important our cancellation policy is, which is why we include a signature space directly below this area to draw the eye and encourage the member to read the policy thoroughly. ****************** did not request to cancel his account with us until 12/28/2023, well outside of this cancellation window.

Our club is great for anyone who wants to get out, meet new people, and have new experiences. You get out of our club what you put into it. If someone is not attending events or socializing they wont get the full experience out of our services. We are not scamming people, we do exactly as we state in our contract. We take the stress out of getting out there and meeting new people. We plan over 15 events each month, we ensure that our members are in a safe environment where they can just relax and make new memories. We encourage ****************** to get out there and attend more events with us.

      Complaint: 21244894

I am rejecting this response because:

Thee business has recording of my interview in which I specifically spoke about my expectations and was told the club was a perfect fit. Any one who have ever went to an event would know that the club was not a good fit for me which every representative goes to the events also I was told events would be within an hour of me but since signing up majority of the events are over an hour and a half from me.

This club is a scam and other people have been also complaining about how they run business as well and also being lied too as well. The club the representative knows that majority of people that sign up is mainly females and older people at least on my location. And why would I go to more events when I was discriminationed against, and be apart of a club that is full of drama when I SPECIFICALLY said in my interview that i want a drama free space?

Events and Adventures Claiming they do not know about this issue within the club just further shows they have no business being in  the social industry because that would be the equivalent of a heart surgeon doing heart surgery and saying "I didn't know the patient need to get stitched back up because of their age"

I stand by my claim. This group has no business being in business and people are too afraid to speak up to them because of Slash back from club members who love the drama and love being apart of the club. When I reached out the respond I got was "you can get a lawyer but it will just be a waste of money". Not even a phone call or anything to try to figure out any solution with me. The representative offered to speak with the event manager but there was no conversation as to potentially slash back from group members for me pointing out major flaws within the group. I get it hard to regulate people in clubs such as these but to have zero club rules and regulations as to what behaviors are acceptable and what isn't creates a hostile environment for people. This club is all about the money and not actually providing quality services for it's member. And it's a shame because a club such as this has so much potential but the reason so many members don't participate in the events is because of the click within the group. For crying out loud they refer to me as "he" and "******************" I'm a SHE & it's "******************" that so fully offensive to be called a "He" & "Mr" this could have been handled differently but they never responded after the representative sent in my request and after I sent an email directly they never responded and when I sent the third email to follow up I got a short snobby and rather rude response. I'm so genuinely surprised this group is still in business.

They can keep the membership money since money means more to them than human decency but I won't close this. I want it open so that no one else waste their hard earned money on something that was portray as "great for them" in their mental states just to be the complete opposite. Money isn't the issue the issue is being lied too and deceived, I was rather excited to join and be a part of the group until I got into the group and realized the lack of foundation the group had. Their events managers for each location so how can't they regulate some ground rules within the group to make it more comfortable for every member such as rules against discrimination and members not dating/talking to multiple members at the same time.

I do not even want to read their next response.

      Sincerely,

      *******************

I signed up for events and adventures membership not realizing I only had three days from my sign on date to cancel my membership. Which, in my opinion, is not long enough to see how the online meet-up service works. I have reached out to the company asking if I can cancel my membership and they have suggested I agree to a settlement of $2,200.00 or keep paying $100 until my balance of $2,535.83 is paid in full. I do not want to be part of this service anymore and because they have my bank account info, they are continuing to pull funds from my account, causing me to experience insufficient funds and overdrafts in my bank account. I want out of this service asap. They don't deserve my money.

************** signed up with our company on 12/22/2023. As ************** stated above we have a 3 business day cancellation policy on our agreement. We did not receive a cancellation request until 01/25/2024, well outside of her 3 days, she would have needed to cancel by 12/27/2023 to be considered valid.

We do require a signature directly below this section to draw the members eye to it hoping they will thoroughly read through our contract before placing their signature on it. ************** did not request for ** to cease charging her or take her off of automatic payments. We have taken her off of auto payments and placed her on monthly invoicing. Going forward until a resolution is reached on her account she will receive emailed invoices for her membership payments. ************** will need to continue speaking with our Resolutions Specialist to resolve her account.

This has been a terrible experience with a company that has acted dishonestly and exploited its customers. It's not acceptable when businesses fail to follow their own terms and conditions, forcing people into contracts and then penalizing them for realizing the truth. This behavior is reprehensible and takes advantage of people who are simply seeking genuine connections. If I don't receive proper compensation from the company, pursuing legal action may be necessary to ensure that others don't fall prey to these deceitful practices. I canceled less than 3 days after and was informed by a membership specialist there was a delay in processing the form so my contract was not voided. That is heinous and unethical and my CREDIT SCORE was damaged by this dishonest company.

****************** signed up for a membership with our company on 03/14/2022. Per her legally binding agreement she agreed to pay her deposit payment of $100.00 the day of sign up, with monthly payments of $204.58 until her membership is paid in full.

The only membership payment we were able to collect was for $204.58 on 04/25/2022. ****************** requested to cancel her membership with us on 05/02/2022. Per the cancellation policy on her contract that she agreed to, she would have needed to cancel within 3 business days to be a valid cancellation. She would have needed to cancel by 03/17/2022, however her request was well out of this timeframe. We require a signature below this area to avoid members looking over this important policy.

We would never force anyone to sign up with our company, they meet with a Membership Representative, learn about what we do, and choose to sign up after seeing the membership options. It is entirely up to the member whether they decide to sign our contract and join. Our club does exactly what it states in our contract. We preplan events for like minded individuals to get out, meet new people, and have a good time. We have upheld our end of this contract. We attempted to make contact with ****************** multiple times to resolve her account with no response. She was sent to our third party collections agency on 08/24/2022. Going forward ****************** will need to speak with Keynote on her account, she can reach them at ************. If ***************** did request to cancel within the 3 business days, we ask that she please provide that documentation to Keynote.

It was agreed by both parties that I pay 77% of the remaining amount owed to close my account early. During these discussions and in my previous contract, it was NOT disclosed that I would have to sign another contract to close my account. // Of note, the settlement contract states the following: The Settling Parties agree to immediately: Cease and Desist publishing, posting or causing to be published or posted, any negative comments or complaints about the other in any forum whatsoever (virtual or otherwise) [...] Remove any and all such commentary or complaints regarding the other from any and all websites, social media, credit reporting agencies or services, and/or any other forum, virtual and/or non-virtual, wherever such postings, reports, or complaints may exist [...] // Please note that I have NOT signed this contract as of posting. Firstly, I'm unsure of how they plan to enforce it, as they cannot tap my phone or track who I talk to in person about the business. I only intend to speak honestly about my time in the program; neither myself nor the business is capable of controlling other peoples perceptions of what is said, notably whether or not it could be perceived as negative. // This part of the agreement is an attempt by the company to persuade customers to censor honest public feedback with the offer of a discount. It goes against some of the BBBs Standards for Trust. (Tell the Truth, Be Transparent, Embody Integrity). // This part of the contract also violates the ******** Charter of Rights and Freedoms: Fundamental freedoms section 2: b) freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication; // I'm merely seeking a means to pay the agreed amount and end my contract with the business, but they failed to provide a payment method, saying that I must sign the settlement and censor myself to pay. The only alternative given was to do nothing and pay 100% of the contracts remainder.

I do have an alternate solution if the company decides not to honour their word and allow me to pay the agreed-upon amount of $1062.60.

If the company still needs me to sign their settlement agreement after this, I will instead pay the "full" remaining amount ($1380) by either cash or check hand-delivered to the following location:

      356 ****************************************************************

I hope the company can appreciate that these previous events mean that I no longer trust them with my credit card. If I make this payment, they MUST delete my account and destroy all information regarding me first. After my account and information is deleted, I will make the payment, document my hand delivery, and send the proof to ************************************* for their booking purposes.

If the company agrees to that, I will sign a document that details this plan of action, so long as it does NOT hold a non-disclosure clause. I hope the company understands that I have no need to be disparaging when I only need to tell the truth.

I am rejecting this response because:

The copy + paste response provided by the business does not add anything new to previous conversations nor does it address the attempt at violating customers human rights for free speech. The customer will not allow this business to claim their right to express their opinion after such poor conduct.

The company needs to amend their documents to reflect previous conversations and not attempt to coerce the customer into not speaking out on the customers experience with the business.

I contacted Events and Adventures to sign up for their services. After a zoom interview and a hard sales push I purchased the membership. This was Saturday April 15, 2023. I was told I would be sent a calendar to review various events I could sign up for. The Calendar came more than 3 days later, Sunday (the next day) being a non business day. I am a minster, the church had events, and I needed to prepare for Sunday. I also work a full time job during the week. So I did not have time to review the contract in full to notice that If I did not cancel within 3 days then I owed the full debt. As the next weekend approached I sat down to review the events to see if there was something I could attend. This was April 20th, 5 days later. After Reviewing the calendar I had just received I realized that I would not be able to attend very many events and canceled my membership. I first received a notice that they would cancel my membership, then later was told that I only had 3 days to cancel and I took 5 days so they will not cancel and I owe the full membership fee for the entire year. Remember, one of those 5 days would have been a Sunday, and I didn't even have the calendar to review the events, but most of all it was not made clear in the interview that if I did not cancel within 3 days I would owe the total amount of the contract. I am now being billed more than $3000 for a membership I have never used. I paid the sign up fee, and they deducted 1 month payment out of my account and I will not receive that money back. I have not used their service AT ALL. I did not sign up for, nor attend a single event and notified them I want my membership canceled within 4 business days. Now they are using a debt collector to collect money for a service I never used and asked to be canceled. I mean really, 3 days? Who does that? Even a car sales gives you 30 days to return the car you bought. Who has time to sit and look over all that stuff in 3 days, especially when they did not even give you all of the information within the 3 days. I don't mind them keeping my sign up fee, and they can even keep the 1 month billed. But there is no way they should be coming after me for over $3k for a service I have never used and asked to be cancelled only 4 days after signing the contract that was not clearly explained.

**************** signed up for a 24 month membership with our company on 04/15/2023. He

through our contract before signing in the required spaces. Our cancellation policy is clear
and a signature is required directly underneath it to draw the eye to this section.
Per our cancellation policy members have 3 business days to request to cancel their
account with us to be eligible for a refund. After that term they are outside of our
cancellation window. Below is a screenshot of Mr. ******* contract showing his signaturedirectly below this policy. **************** would have needed to cancel by 04/19/2023 to be
considered a valid cancellation. We did not receive a cancellation request from him until
04/20/2023. We understand that this may be a frustrating situation for ****************, this is
why it is so important for members to read through our contract.
Since he was outside of his cancellation window the full balance remained owed. Mr. ********** did not make any payments on his membership balance after 06/21/2023. Due to
this he was sent to our third party collections agency Keynote, moving forward he will

      Complaint: 21133766

I am rejecting this response because: the business (Events and adventures) has not resolved the issue. Instead of closing the account they have sent it to collections for funds I do not owe. The business's response is misleading at best.

How E&A responded to this complaint,
**************** signed up for a 24 month membership with our company on 04/15/2023. He
met with one of our Membership Representatives who explained our services in more
detail and went over the event calendar for the current month in his city.

      What actually happened:
They did not have a calendar at the time of the interview. I was told I would receive access to the calendar which came 3 days later.

How E&A responded to this complaint:
**************** had the opportunity to review our contract options and made the decision to
sign up with us that day. We hope and urge all members to take their time and read
through our contract before signing in the required spaces.

      What actually happened:
I was told that I could read the contract as my leisure. I was not "urged" to read it right then and there. The representative gave brief summarizations of the contract leaving out key details while urging me to sign up.

What they said in the interview:
If you are a good fit, we will offer you a membership.

      What was implied:
If you dont sign up now, you may not get in.

How E&A responded to this complaint:
      Our cancellation policy is clear
and a signature is required directly underneath it to draw the eye to this section.
Per our cancellation policy members have 3 business days to request to cancel their
account with us to be eligible for a refund.

What was said in the interview:
You have 3 days to cancel in order to get a refund.

      What I understood:
If you pay your fee today and cancel after 3 days you won't get that fee back.

What was not said by E&A,
Once you sign this contract  you owe us the full $3000 for 2yrs even if you dont use this service or try to drop out.

      My reply:
They were misleading deliberately and they know it. This is bad business.

I understood that I would lose my sign up fee, even though I was not even 24hrs passed 3 days.  I was prepared to do that. But to come after me to $3000 for a service I never used? Are you kidding me?

I want this business to remove this debt from the credit collections.

      Sincerely,

      *************************

My complaint is in reference to a contract that I signed on June 15, 2023, with Events & Adventures with *******************************. Via email and via phone call, she stated she was processing the cancellation on July 10, 2023, and she completed it on July 13, 2023, officially. 1. Amount paid down was $500; I have paid this company a total of $1,211.68. 2. It provides Social events for single adults.3. I have never attended any events with ********************************* I was informed this membership was being cancelled "officially" by ******************************* July 13, 2023. 4. I was under the impression that this account was cancelled, but ******************************* misled me by emailing stating she was processing the cancellation. 5. My reasons for requesting to cancel were due to personal financial issues and safety concerns at ***************** that required me to move. I had multiple people attempting to enter my unit. The police were notified. 7. Via email, ********* told an unknown person to me that I lived on the 5th floor of the apartment and told the unknown person to me that I lived on the same hall as I did. I told ******************** did not approve her giving away my personal information to a stranger, especially since multiple women were on camera attempting to enter my apartment. 8. I was unaware of the continued billing until September 2023. 9. I sent the email communication to Events & Adventures, but it was not accepted, and I was told I signed a contract, and it was after 3-days. I was misled by *******************************. 10. On multiple occasions, I sent proof of communication to me about the cancellation, but Events & Adventures refused to accept the email communication and refused to cancel. 11. I am being forced to continue this membership at $177.92 / month or pay greater than $1400. That is not fair, I was told this was being cancelled.12. I do not have an account/tracking # .Please help me resolve and receive a refund or at least cancel without additional cost.

I provided my bank card and signed the contract for auto payments. Business did not use the bank card to take money out and sent my account to a collection agency. That is fraud. Please rectify. Thank you.

**************** signed up for a membership with our company on 08/14/2021. She agreed to pay her initial payment of $500.00 the day of sign up with monthly payments of $113.13 until her membership is paid in full. We were never able to collect a monthly membership payment, after so long we pulled her off of automatic payments and placed her on invoicing. She had paper statements billed to the address she provided on her contract, we never received any response from those. **************** had full access to our services for the duration of her membership. She logged into our website 41 times accessing our event calendar, the most recent attempt was on 12/11/2021.

In March of 2022 we sent **************** to our third party collections agency as she was not responding to our invoiced attempts to collect her payments. Per her legally binding agreement the full remaining balance is owed to our company. As **************** is in collections she will need to resolve this balance with ******************, they can be reached at ************.
