5 starsEA has been a great experience for a long term single girl like me!! There are amazing events to go to and experience more of ******* than I have in 20+ years living here. I have made some of the best friends in the group and have met some quality guys. No need for dating apps anymore!!Review fromHolly M

5 starsI've been part of the ******* section for about a year and a half and it's been pretty much everything I hoped for. Met lots of cool people, went places I'd never heard of, and did things I never would have done otherwise. If you're single, especially if you're new to the area, this is a great way to make friends and explore the city.Review fromPhillip S

5 starsE&A ******* has lived up to my expectations. I joined to find new friends and not have to plan things to do being single in *******. The sports activities helped draw me in as I am an active person. I have done many events with this group that I would not have normally wanted to try but ended up having a great time. While the membership fees are not free, that cost goes to having someone plan out, sometimes months in advance, activities for the group to do. Some events do have added cost but you are not obligated to pay and attend every event. I have no regrets on joining group almost a year ago.Review fromJim J

1 starAbsolute Scam of the company. I was promised 3 months of free membership and they refused to honor their promised. On top of that they stated that I would have had to pay for my membership in full even after my contract expires. Scam of a companyReview fromJohn T

2 starsThis thing's a legit money grab. It's ~$150/month (though you can make a down-payment and then have smaller payments down the road and/or put it on a credit card) for access to a Calendar, *************** and zoom calls about events. The representative you interview with might tack on a few free months at the end, but there is no Trial Period. The actual events are added costs. For stuff like ski Hills, you still pay admission, and usually at the exact same rate you would without E&A. For stuff like D&D, it's at a business that you're expected to make a purchase at. If you do book club, you buy the book. If you go to a superbowl party, you help pay for food. If it's dinner, they don't subsidize your tab AT ALL. And so on. There is some free hiking, and when the weather is nice, Volleyball, but that's about it.The people at the events are older than you are led to believe, and mostly held by other members, not E&A staff. It's also really hard to get out of whatever contract you sign (1 or 2 years) before its natural expiration. You only have three days to straight cancel, and depending on your locality, you might have to send a letter and/or pay a cancellation fee, particularly if you attended an event. Beyond the 3 days, you'll have to pay a settlement fee. This policy is even enforced, via collection agency, if you have a financial emergency or are no longer eligible to be in the group (i.e. you get married or move far away). All you can do easily is "freeze" the time left on your membership, like for if you're really busy with work. But this only freezes time and not the payments. It's effectively a temporary event ban.The events are real and they're truthful about the cost, so if you have money to burn, go ahead. But for most people, there are better things to try.Review fromPete S

1 starThis "business" is an absolute scam. They advertise and sell an active club with numerous daily activities. In reality, the activities are impossible to get into and when a person does get in, the hosts are rude, unwelcoming, and act like they don't even want to be there. Worse, they won't let you cancel your membership and are completely unresponsive to any dialogue. I hope people do their research before spending one dime with this company. They are awful.Review fromJoseph B

1 starBiggest scam to single to date! I'd rather not go into the old book script of explaining in length how this company has screwed me and even skews the time they respond to you allowing things to fall outside any operable window to resolve any issues with them.Review fromCLAUDIA J

1 starBeware of Hidden Costs in Your A&E ContractDid you know that canceling your membership with A&E could come with unexpected financial obligations? If you decide to cancel, you may still be required to pay the full membership amount.Whats more concerning is their cancellation policy: you only have three days to cancel and receive a refund. Realistically, its nearly impossible to fully evaluate the club within this brief period. During their sales presentations, they often fail to disclose this critical detail, leaving it buried in the fine print of the contract youre asked to ******* avoid unpleasant surprises, take the time to thoroughly review the terms before committing. A little diligence upfront could save you significant hassle later.Additionally, many members report that the club does not deliver on its promises. Despite marketing claims of high-profile members, the majority of participants tend to be older women, and many of the men may struggle to find success even on traditional dating platforms. For most, online dating may prove to be a more effective and honest option.Review fromLara D

1 starMade to close a star rating which should 0 not 1 ************ is HORRIBLE. I would NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO JOIN. What they sell to get you into the membership and what you get is NOT the same. You can join other FREE clubs and get more satisfaction than you will if you pay to join this company. I just received an invoice Nov **************************************************************************** an invoice since Nov 2023. I tried to cancel my membership based on information I found on their website in 10/2023 had back and forth emails with them up until 12/2023 and never heard anything else until last month. However, now they have given me a lower amount to settle the account. The few ********************** I have attended have been okay and most I could have done on my own with no fee associated with it. Most of the activities I have been interested in have been out of my preferred cost range or filled up before I can register. Not all members can be on the ** site at the time the next month's activities are posted to sign up. The goal of my joining this group was to be able to potentially meet a partner (male) organically. The male-to-female ratio is drastically skewed in favor of females. The few males I have met have been out of my age range either too young or too old by at least 10 -15 years difference. Your advertising and representation are very misleading, and this is not what I thought I was signing up for. This is an example of my monthly cost and what I had to pay additionally out of pocket to attend events back in 2023.I pay E & A $146.39 a month, which only gets me access to a calendar. Which were usually already full or cost associated with is higher than I wanted to pay. Bowling 11/3 $20 Graffiti Workshop 11/5 $45 Rooftop Mingle 11/4 is Full and costs $10 for an public venue. Make your own Wineglass 11/12 $85 Speakeasy 11/16 Full $10 Caymus Vines and Wines 11/17 $64 And this doesn't cover the cost of any of my drinks or food.Review fromZara P

5 starsI moved to ****** after over a decade away from ***** and after several months, I was looking for community in the same season of life to experience the city with. I am glad that several of my close friends from college live in ******, but they're married with kids now, so I didn't have single friends to go to trivia on a weeknight, or concerts, or weekend events that conflicted with their kids' games. I found E&A and it's been amazing! It's definitely an investment, financially, but it's an investment in my social life and mental health. Loneliness is literally an epidemic these days (the Surgeon General's report last spring and the articles that have been written about that are remarkable), and E&A has provided a great community to alleviate the loneliness that comes with moving to a new city in your mid-30s. It's SO WORTH IT! I've found great friends that are in the same season of life (woohoo!), spent countless weekends camping, dancing, hiking, playing sports, going to dinner, celebrating holidays, laughing at murder mysteries, etc.. I've gotten to go to events that I wouldn't have expected, like fencing, archery tag, interactive art exhibits and a super glam haunted house. Any night of the week, there is something to do with a good group! I love that there are clubs in so many cities across the country, so if I'm traveling to ******* or **, I can check the calendars for those clubs and join an event! I joined this club because I was looking for community and y'all, it has delivered! Besides being a "dating app alternative," it's felt a lot like joining a club back in college - you find people who like to do the types of activities that you like! I've dated guys I've met through the group, but the friendships have been even better - I've found my girl squad through this group, you know? As far as dating goes, I love that everyone has been background checked to join the group. It's better than shooting your shot in the *** Pre Check line at the airport ;)
