On or about May 25th I found a vehicle on Autotrader.com that the dealership was selling. I contacted ***********************, internet sales manager. We were offered a sale price and trade in value on the sale of said vehicle on 5/30 but we wanted a diff color. They did not have the color but had located one that would be delivered by EOM June. DJ advised me that they were willing to do the same deal on that vehicle if we were willing to wait for its delivery. We accepted their terms and agreed to the sale agreement. DJ responded back that the vehicle is marked sold to us. When the vehicle came in we scheduled an appointment to sign the paperwork and pick up the car. ** was not available so his son ***** handled the paperwork. We went to our bank, got a cashiers check for the agreed upon cash diff and went to the dealership. ***** started the paperwork and after about an hour he came back to us (directed by manager ***********************) and said that due to a change in the market they couldn't honor the sale agreement they offered and offered $1500.00 less on our trade in then what they had already committed to when the vehicle sale/order occurred. We were very upset and were going to leave disappointed that we had expected to buy a new vehicle and invested a lot of time in the process (shopping, negotiating a sale and at the lot to pick up the vehicle). I decided to confront/discuss with the sales manager (*****) and he said that it is their company policy not to give trade in values during price negotiations and only do them at point of sale. I advised him that as a customer I was not informed of their ********************** policy and that DJ did in fact give me a breakdown of the sale with a trade in value and we relied on that price in accepting the offer. We agreed to pay an additional $500 in cash to close the sale even though it was not our agreed upon sale that the dealership and I had agreed to. We feel this was a bait and switch and we were extorted for the added $500.

Don't buy a car from this dealership. They won't deal fairly with you. I'd give them 0 stars if that were an option.Seven years ago I bought a new car from them, trading in my previous car which was in excellent condition, as they well knew since they had done ALL the service on it for the previous 10 years since I had bought it from them new. They gave me $1700 on the trade-in, then less than a week later listed it on their website for $10,000.So when I went back again recently, I did my research on the value of the car I intended to trade in. Again, this is a car that they knew to be in excellent condition since they had done all the service on it for seven years. ****** Blue Book and **** trade-in values were $13,000 to $16,000 for 'very good condition'. I even looked to see what price other dealers were listing for the same model and very close mileage, to get a sense of what Peninsula Subaru was likely to sell it for, which was $18,000-$20,000. Peninsula Subaru even had one on their own lot that was a year older and had half again as many miles on it, listed for $20,000.Yet they refused to deal fairly with me, lying that the similar car they had on their lot wasn't comparable and that they would be listing my car for only $16,000-$17,000. I finally got them to allow $10,000. Four days later, on inquiry to their internet sales manager, I see that they are listing it for $22,000.My opinion: Despicable and dishonorable. Liars.

I dont know where this price is coming from as this vehicle has not been priced yet. Unless its an automatic price indicator for AutoTrader or ***** Blue Book. Based on the book and market values of this vehicle it should be priced between $16,000 and $18,000 depending on condition and equipment. I will try and reach out to the customer and see where this information is coming from.

In response to the business: The $22,000 quote is from an email I received from your Internet Manager 30AUG21.
