Purchased an electric bike, they never sent it to the right location for assembly. Company provides no customer support options other than email. Emailed several times with no response. I had to file a dispute with the bank to get a refund. Avoid doing business with this company.Rad Power Bikes Inc.

We are very sorry to hear that you've filed a dispute with your financial institution for the charges related to this order. 1 star**************** after the sale is terrible! I own two RadRover 6 Plus bikes and have a minor issue with one of the ** brackets (it's broken). Phones are down, and chat is down. I sent an email on 8 June to customer service, with no response as of yet. It's hard to recommend a company that doesn't back its product. They keep saying they are too busy filling backorders. If you are that busy, hire more people.Review fromBrian A

1 starBeen trying to reach Rad Power Bikes regarding a part that is needed for my RadRover 6 Plus and it appears that they turned off their support phone line and support chat so the only way to reach out is via email. Have been following up every 2 days but still haven't received a response. Really ***** that I now can't ride a bike that I've owned for less than 1 month due to a part breaking and not being able to get any assistance or a replacement. Can't even get a request number for support because no one will respond to my inquiries or answer the phone, overall dissatisfied with my purchase and the lack of support. May try to seek other avenues (such as legal counsel or a chargeback) unless I actually get a response as this is ridiculous at this point.Review fromMatthew J

The bike seems to be good quality and I used it to commute for a good six months. Never had an issue until my motor suddenly stopped working. I reached out to customer service and 3 days after that they "closed" my case without even speaking to me. I asked it to be reopened, and it has been 3 weeks since then. I have heard that the company has layed off many people, and have no problem with the actual service representatives, but the company itself has terrible waittimes and I can not even redeem my warranty for the motor. I can not wait any longer, as I need the bike for college classes and to commute as I have expressed to them many times. I will have to buy a replacement motor and replace it myself Don't buy a bike here unless you know exactly how to change parts and don't need the warranty, as it is essentially useless if you can not get an email back because the company has fired too many people.Rad Power Bikes Inc.

Hi!
We sincerely apologize that your RadRover 6 Plus bike is having some issues with its pedal assist and throttle and for the delayed response to your recent inquiry to our customer support email inbox. We value your time and understand the frustration that *** have resulted from this delay, and for that, we extend our sincerest apologies.
Typically, when your throttle and pedal assist stop working at the same time, it's because your motor thinks the bike's brakes are engaged. This is also referred to as an Error 25.We have followed up in your support ticket 1867135 to troubleshoot so we can get you back riding ASAP. We appreciate your patience!

1 starI bought a Rad Rover 6 bike (2 or them, order #*******), arrived this Saturday 03 Jun. 23. One of the batteries is dead, will not charge. Took it to the local RAD service center in town and confirmed battery is defective. Since the battery is a sealed unit there is no way to troubleshoot the cause. Similar problem to the other customer, there is no way to contact the service support or help center, I can't even submit a service request #. I tried calling several times and the message indicates phone lines are closed. They state you can text these numbers but when you try it says their texting is turned off right now. They direct you to their new chat feature, but no one is online. They state on their internet support page "We are currently experiencing longer than normal wait times for support requests." I returned to the local service deal in town and they too can not get a hold of anyone at RAD. I can only ride one of the two bikes I purchased because of the defective battery. All I need is a replacement battery covered by warranty so why girlfriend and I can at least ride these the new bikes we just purchased.Review fromGreg D

I wanted to file a BBB complaint but was instructed by the BBB system to submit a review. See email I sent Rad Power Bikes below. What I did not put in the email below is that I purchased my Radmission last October and the battery stopped working as I was riding the ebike. Then, I turned off the bike and lost the key, maybe as I was pedaling home. I spoke to a bike shop that services Rad Power Bikes and they told me the first step is to get a key so they can figure out what's going on. As you will see below, the service or lack thereof I have received from Rad Power Bikes has been horrible.1844993 is my request number. I requested a replacement key for my Radmission on May 10, 2023. I still have not received it. I have called with no success getting through. I have emailed to receive generic responses. Your website constantly says that your company is experiencing unusually high activity. I have chatted with a representative once who told me that I would be contacted once my key was cut. I have explained I rely on my ebike for transportation. I have not heard back. Your company was quick to take my nearly $1000 for a radmission but has provided horrible or non-existent service after the fact once the slightest problems arose. If I don't hear back with a satisfactory explanation within two business days, I am going to post the worst review your company has ever seen and *** for breach of contract in my county, Madison County, ********. It is a matter of principle now and I will pay whatever it costs to file suit and have your company served with a summons. Once I serve Rad Power Bikes if your company ignores my lawsuit and does not file an answer and subject itself to my county's jurisdiction, I will take a default judgment and hand it over to a collection agency. If you do respond to the lawsuit and win, at least I will have the satisfaction of causing someone in your company the inconvenience you have caused me.Rad Power Bikes Inc.

This ebike is a Horrible Opposite to sustainabiilty. Battery won't charge - Rad's answer is to order a new battery - senidng the old one to a landfill, when in reality the problem was a $2 fuse, but they designed the battery pack so you can't get to the fuse but have to order a new battery -- complete rip-off by their design team to sell a new battery when all you need is a new fuse, but you can't get to the fuse to replace it without damaging the battery. TERRIBLE PRODUCT -- called and they said - sorry, it's 18 mos old so out of warranty.Rad Power Bikes Inc.

Hi! We appreciate your review. The semi-integrated batteries do not have the replaceable fuses. Thank you for asking about battery recycling! Rad Power Bikes strives to be responsible for the environment, and we’re glad you’re interested in helping contribute to this goal. Lithium-ion batteries are recyclable and not just waste! Thankfully, battery recycling programs are becoming more accessible to everyone.
Batteries Plus is also a company that has a variety of recycling options. This company will recycle batteries, including lithium-ion batteries, light bulbs, and even small electronics. To learn more about their recycling options and find out if they are in your area click here:https://www.batteriesplus.com/recycling
Additionally, please consult with your local government about what battery recycling options might be available to you.
Thank you again for helping keep reusable items out of landfills. We are always looking for ways to improve our environmental sustainability, and will be sure to announce any updates to our processes that can help customers dispose of their ebike items safely!R. W.

Company responded there is no replaceable fuse. There actually is a 4amp fuse that they designed so the consumer can’t get to it. FORCING taking a perfectly fine battery to the landfill and buying a new one for $700 with shipping when a $2 fuse would have solved the problem had they not intentionally designed it this way that you have to buy a battery each time the fuse blows. I took apart the battery pack and as shared online in other posts there is a standard auto 4amp fuse that was blown, but I had to destroy the lack to get to it - what a rip-off - BUT Rad responded to my complaint that theee is no fuse - a complete lie!Rad Power Bikes Inc.

As we advise in Page 17 of your Owners Manual, please NEVER open up the battery housing, which will void the warranty and can result in battery damage. It can also expose you to caustic substances and electrical shock or it could create a fire hazard, which can lead to serious injury or death.

You are unfortunately correct there is no easily replaceable fuse, you seal the housing so that a simple fuse replacement could save disposing of a dangerous battery. I dont replace my car battery because of a blown fuse. If you cared about the environment then the fuse that frequently blows *** many other online posts could be replaced - instead you sell a new expensive battery. This business is only about profit at the consumer expense.Review fromLane B

My wife and I purchased a Rad Runner 2 in early April using it for the first time a few weeks later while on vacation in ******. There, the bike worked well for the first 3 days before developing an intermittent throttle and/or motor cut-out issue that not been resolved by *** and has made the bike unsafe and unrideable since. The root issue for ** is the complete lack of customer support thats available to remedy warranty issues. Since our purchase, *** has closed their direct customer support phone lines, discontinued their still advertised ************** support and recently suspended their live chat portal. This leaves only their email portal service as the means to resolve product issues. It is a brutally inefficient process. Weve been working the *** required troubleshoot processes for almost 2 months and *** has only provided meaningful support twice during that time while continually sidestepping our simple request for a warranty return/refund. We paid good money for a product that *** claims is award winning and backed with great support and weve gotten neither. My wife and I can make only two possible conclusions after having invested so much time and energy trying to return a product weve documented as being faulty to ***s using their own troubleshoot steps: 1. *** does not care about customer issues and is intentionally prioritizing sales cashflow over customers satisfaction or, 2. ***s business is failing and they simply no longer have the ability to provided product support at all.I would be more than happy to write back to this post and detail how wrong I was about my *** business assessment and tell all here about my fantastic follow-on *** customer experience if they choose to support our warranty return/refund request. Our ticket number is #*******. Until then, potential customers be VERY VERY forewarned.Rad Power Bikes Inc.

Bike has been virtually non-functional since purchasing it months back (a medical issue meant it took me a while to try and get it addressed).First, it was a disfunctional wiring harness, which *** did address swiftly by sending me a replacement. When replacing it myself, however, ran into issues. The harness got stuck in the bike's frame, which necessitated taking it to a Rad-certified repair shop.Bike was repaired... Except not. New issue arose - the bike would not turn on even with a new wiring harness. Problem was suspected to have something to do with the controller. I immediately reached out to Rad.It has been radio silence for over 10 days at this point. Support has not contacted me back. I have made multiple requests that have gone unaddressed. The shop I had taken my bike too has also attempted to reach out to Rad and, similarly, there has been no response from support for him either. This is the last Rad I will ever purchase.Rad Power Bikes Inc.

I recently purchased 2 RAD bikes. Radwagon 4 and Rad Runner +. The Rad Runner is great. But the Radwagon came with Radius brakes rather than Tektro as advertised. Rad customer service claims they are the same quality, but side by side comparison, the Radius brakes are far inferior than the Tektro. (yes I considered the weight difference of the two bikes).Radius brakes are NOT safe and I would not trust them. Especially not with my kids on the bike.Customer Service is refusing to help and told me to go to a bike shop.I asked about my 14 day guarantee and that I wanted to return this bike and get a new one with proper / safe components. (Tektro, Shimano)Also, the battery and motor seem inferior to what is on the RadRunner+. The performance is so drastically different, I really feel like I got a lemon of a bike. But customer service is not willing to help.Unfortunate you can't get anyone on the phone to talk to, just an online messaging service.Would love some help to make this right after spending a lot of money.Rad Power Bikes Inc.
