On 5/17/2024 at between 4-5pm, I was contacted that there was a bench warrant for my arrest for not attending Jury duty. They stated that I had signed a paper stating I would attend Jury duty and did not show up. I told them I never signed such a paper. They told me that I needed to post bond or else be arrested. They stated, that if my signature was cleared I would get my money back. They sent me to a Coinme machine (which I am completely unfamiliar with), and stated that if I put the bond money in there I would get a certificate stating I had posted my bail. Half way through the transaction I stopped and tried to cancel the transaction . THE COINME MACHINE HAS NO WAY TO CANCEL OR REVERSE TRANSACTION ONCE IT IS STARTED. I called coinme within 10 minutes of this occurence, and they told me that the transaction is immediate (there is no "safety delay" in processing the transaction.Initial Complaint

Ticket #*****, Cash Code ********** On February 24, 2024, at 11:25 AM, I attempted to withdraw $360 from my wallet using one of their ATM terminals, but received an error message stating, "there was a problem, please try again." Despite multiple attempts at different ATM locations, I was unable to withdraw the funds. I contacted support, but my outreach attempts have been ignored for over three months. The voucher expired after 30 days, with a promise that the money would be refunded automatically, yet I still have not received the funds. Two more months have passed without any response from customer support, leaving my tickets unresolved and my funds in limbo. Consequently, I have ceased using Coinme services until the issue is rectified.Initial Complaint

On May 6, 2024 at 9:54:07 AM, I entered my mobile number as instructed and deposited $900 cash into Coinstar Kiosk at ******************************* store on *************** in **************, **. Coinstar Transaction: #******. I purchased ********* ETH (Ethereum crypto Currency.) The instructions say to download the Coinme mobile app to access your purchased crypto. I downloaded the app, and entered the requested details: name, phone number, email address, and social security and the app says "We're sorry we are unable to offer you an account at this time." I tried many times to use their customer support, which is automated. It is horrible and I tried calling and you can only leave a message. I was able finally able to complete a **************** Ticket on May 6th and submitted and the reponse was that it was not complete. I sent the details of the receipt and not the whole receipt. I replied by attaching the entire receipt as requested and that was rejected saying I need to file another ticket. I submitted a second Customer Ticket #***** which referenced the first ticket, along with all of the necessary information to verify the account. However the response is that the same. and they closed the ticket. They are keeping my $900 and not allowing me to withdraw or access my money. This is awful. They have a Submit Reimbursement Ticket with a fake button. I mean it says it's a form to submit a reimbursement ticket but the button is only a graphic, it doesn't actually function, you can't press it. This company is a scam.Customer response

I paid this company $65 in *** to be sold for cash at one of their atm. The cash code I was given flat out did not work across multiple machines. When I go to get help in their app, I am blocked from submitting a ticket. Then I go to their website, I am blocked from even visiting. They straight up stole my money, provided nothing but a fake code to me, and then blocked me. This lace should not be allowed to stay in business.Initial Complaint

They are posing as real employees of the US ***************** & saying that a loved one is getting paroled & they will need an ankle bracelet system since they will be under house arrest. They need you to use the kiosk to send money to pay for it. They have all personal info and contacts & make it sound legit. I sent $ while he stayed on the line and got a receipt but he said it didnt go through & would need to send again & I would get a refund. I did not send anymore however after talking to my daughter & telling her that it was bitcoin. We started investigating & found that it is a scam. Called US ***************** & they said they do not call people. I reported it to the *** also.Initial Complaint

I was left a phone message at around 9 in the morning on Wednesday the 24th of April. The person claimed to be officer ****** of the King ******* sheriffs department. When I called the local number back a woman answered the phone claiming to be the king ****** sheriffs department. She directed my call to officer ****** who told me I had missed jury duty and there was a warrant for my arrest. That my bail was set at ****** and unless I paid it I would be going to jail. He also said that if I got off the phone it would be seen as non compliance and he had to know my every move. He escorted me to my bank where I took a personal loan out and then he escorted me to the ******* to deposit my bail money into the coinme machines which was explained under covid 19 article 4831 as a new method of keeping people from having to come in during the pandemic. It all sounds ridiculous after the fact, but during it was terrifying and humiliating and had there been a warning sign on the stupid coinme machine that they didnt except bail money and a few known scams to have to scroll through ahead of time. It could have saved me a ton of money. These machines are moving untraceable dollars with no records and no recourse. There is no protection for the sender. I went to the police station right after feeling like I had been robbed and he said the money was already gone. It had been under an hour! It was still in their stupid machine but I wasnt allowed to retrieve it and now I still owe my bank. This is happening to people in the masses right now and coinme needs to take some responsibility for their involvement in peoples lives being financially ruined by con artists and fraudsters. Please helpInitial Complaint

On April 11, 2024 at 13:09 I sent ********** of bitcoin worth $1507 at the time from the account associated with this complaint's email to an external bitcoin address. The $1507 of bitcoin was removed from my account but was never sent and they can provide no transaction ID data, hash ID, or blockchain info for the transaction even though they removed the bitcoin from my account. When you click on the transaction details it only gives information for another recently sent $100 transaction. Clearly a technical issue on their part. I then proceeded to open SIX tickets to resolve the issue since they do not provide for any email, phone number or mailing contact. Every ticket would get "resolved" and closed without attempting to even understand the issue. These guys are scammers just stealing money. Their corporate address is just a *** Store! These guys need to be exposed to CoinStar and all state financial regulators as nothing but a bunch of young kid scammers.Initial Complaint
