MCR bends over backwards to make your dream a reality. Although restoring a car is no cheap ride, it is a smoother process with the Specialists at MCR. I learned a lot during the process of having my 72 Hurst Olds Pace Car Convertible picked up in pieces (was a hot mess of scattered parts) and totally redone top to bottom. The shop communicates well and lays out all the options as you move forward. When summer comes, I always am pumped for the rumble of the motor, smell of exhaust, wind blowing in my hair and the folks around me breaking their necks to get a view of my car during the driving season. If they don't look, then I goose it and leave a nice patch of rubber for their viewing/smelling pleasure. Seriously, stop in and talk with the Specialists at Muscle Car Restorations to get your dream started. They do it right the first time!Review from Ron W

After doing research on *** I agreed to take my '40 **** restomod truck in for major work to make it more streetable. We had an agreed upon budget for the list of work I requested. Several months into the project, they had exceeded my budget without warning. No call or communications regarding this and no items on the list completed. In short they had started numerous items before completing any. This put me in a situation where I was not able to remove the truck and take to another shop because *** would have charged me more to get truck drivable without actually completing the desired work. Again, there is no reasonable explanation for being placed in the uncomfortable and costly situation. The work continued until such time that the original budget was doubled and I requested they complete what work they had started so that I could get by truck back. That day finally arrived, I inspected the truck for work I was familiar with and took delivery in late November so unable to drive until spring. Spring arrived and the ** did not work, the *** was not properly tuned and would not start. *** agreed to correct the issues with transportation at my expense. I received the truck back the 2nd time and a few days later the ** failed and truck appeared to be running rough. I took truck to an experienced mechanic to determine what was wrong. They uncovered numerous issues such as pinched fuel line that MCR installed, leaking ** crimps that MCR made, misfire on 3 of 8 cylinders caused by damaged plug wires, safety concern with front suspension, *** not properly tuned and transmission cooler installed in bad location. In short this was perhaps one of the most costly mistakes I have ever made by deciding to use MCR. Yes they have trained mechanics but unfortunately they lack experience and the desire to do quality work which one should expect at the hourly rates they charge. I am hopeful this will prevent someone else from the same experience.Muscle Car Restorations, Inc. Response

Dear ***,
Thank you for sharing your feedback about your experience with MCR. We sincerely regret that your expectations were not met and appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.
When your 1940 **** truck arrived (a vehicle you had purchased off the internet), it became readily apparent it was set-up as a limited street / drag truck and was going to require significantly more work than initially anticipated to ensure it was safe and reliable for street / highway driving. The previous modifications, particularly to the cooling system, rear axle, windshield, and wiring, all needed extensive attention. We aimed to prioritize tasks based on your initial requests and the immediate needs identified during our inspection. We understand your concerns about the budget exceeding original expectations.Throughout the project, we did provide weekly updates (over 40), numerous phone calls, and monthly invoices to keep you informed of the progress and associated costs. We apologize if this communication did not meet your expectations.
When you visited our facility to test drive the truck both times it was here, you stated you were satisfied with the work completed on each occasion. We were pleased to know you were happy with the improvements at those times.
Regarding the issues you encountered after taking delivery, such as the ** losing charge and the intermittent EFI / ignition issues, we promptly agreed to address and assisted once informed. Some of the problems identified later, like the pinched fuel line and one of the ** lines are areas we worked on, and therefore we either repaired or offered to reimburse you for those repairs. Other items such as misfiring cylinders, involved components we had not replaced or areas where we were instructed to halt work.
We invested close to 200 hours of additional labor to address critical issues necessary for your truck's safe operation, without charging you for this extra time. Recognizing that your truck was originally built as a drag vehicle and required significant modifications to become a reliable street vehicle, we wanted to help you achieve your vision despite the extensive work needed and your budget constraints. Under different circumstances, these hours would have been billed accordingly.
We take pride in our workmanship and the expertise of our technicians. Your feedback is invaluable, and we will use it to improve our services and communication moving forward. If there is anything further we can do to address your concerns, please feel free to reach out to us directly.Review from Mark P

I purchased a 1968 Coronet R/T that needed a complete restoration. After four years the car was complete and I cannot believe it is the same car as the do exceptional work and are the paragon of restoration shops. They displayed my R/T at the Chicago World of Wheels and it won first place which is a testament to the work they execute. Go elsewhere if you are worried about the expense and get cheap work done on your classic car. The MCR guys do it correctly which takes time and resources and do not cut corners.Review from Bob T

I purchased a 1970 AAR Cuda with the original numbers matching drive train, but it needed a restoration. I wanted the restoration done by a shop that knew Mopars and had a good reputation, so I selected MCR. My initial meeting with the MCR staff was very collaborative. They wanted to understand what my intentions were with the car after it was completed. I said I was interested in driving the car in autocross events, but with the original suspension geometry and drivetrain. They made numerous suggestions and we agreed on a restoration plan. Even though I live in the northwest, I was very involved during the restoration due in large part to weekly progress pictures posted my MCR and their responsiveness to my many emails. During the restoration, MCR impressed me with their extensive fabrication skills (custom sway bars, custom engine brace, starter heat shield, unibody structural reinforcements, reinforced suspension components) and their high tech diagnostic equipment which allowed them to identify and resolve car operational issues. I got along extremely well with the entire staff – they were easy to work with and accommodated any request for last minute changes or rework.

I had my Dodge Coronet RT restored by Musclecar restorations and couldnt be happier ! The paint on the car gets compliments everytime i take it out ! There was no pressure on me to do anything, when i saw something they did, it looked so good that i went and had more done. They are a top notch shop in everything they do ! Just remember that if you want nice clean oats you must pay a fair price. However if you want oats that have been thru the horse, that comes a little cheaper !Muscle Car Restorations, Inc. Response
