1 starWe have been extremely disappointed with the experience that we received at this dealership, from the very beginning of the interaction.- we told them we were interested in a car, and before we had talked numbers, they were already running our credit and assuming we agreed to purchasing the car -We did come to an agreement, and made an appointment, we live 5 hours away from the dealership, when we arrived (15 mins early), they were not prepared for us, and had to sit and wait for over 2 hours - Once we left we had nothing but issues with the car, we called the dealership the next day, and their only option was for us to drive 5 hours back to them, just to look at it-- these were all issues that should have been fixed in the first place, during the initial inspection, before they sold it, and we should have been notified that it had been in 2 accidents before we purchased as well, but none of that was gone over with us.would not recommend working with this dealership, and will never do business with them- make sure you do your homework before you purchase, they say they are committed to providing a great experience and offer a no pressure sales environment, and that couldn't be further from the experience that we had.Review fromTaryn C

1 starNovember 12th 2024, I traded in my car and got a 2023 BMW x1 from Kunes Madison. Initially had a bad taste in my mouth as I had brought up concerns with the paint needing correction and there was, what sounded like a whirring noise, from the driver rear wheel. I looked at the salesman and asked if those were things they could look at and fix if I bought the vehicle. He said yes of course, might just need to bring it back another day. Well I was dumb for believing it. I went back and forth to Kunes and BMW 4 total times in a month trying to figure out the issue. Long story short Kunes was cheap and sold me a vehicle with not 2 but 4 ********* tires. The front 2 had 2-3 tread and the back were cupped so bad they were creating the noise. Not only did Kunes give me the run around and sent me to BMW for warranty ( it wasn’t warranty they were just careless when selling a vehicle, not their problem right?) so after buying a vehicle, I had to turn around and pay for a complete detail and 2 new tires for the back. Kunes overall just doesn’t care about the quality of anything. They just care about the sale and quantity. I’ve gone back and forth reviewing Kunes as I got in contact with someone higher up and was ghosted by him after being away for the holidays ( I am not from here and am able to take two weeks off for the holidays). Don’t buy from them. Even had a couple employees tell me how bad they felt for me bc they knew I was lied too and cheated.Review fromKasim A

1 starOn ******** the price of the car was $48,856. I really liked the car but the only thing wrong with it was the paint was really scratched up. The Salesmen that I talked to was named Krystof. When I bought the car from them, Krystof told me that the ceramic coating was free. But come to find out the secretly charged me for the ceramic coating. How did I find out they charged me on the ceramic coating. When I got the bill for my car loan I noticed that the Loan was higher then what I anticipated. So I talked to Krystof and he said that “I never said the Ceramic Coating was free”. This really got me mad because he told me it was gonna be free. If it was not gonna be free then I would not buy the car at all. And they also charged me theft deterrent which I never agreed on. They costed me 1900. That is 1900 that I should be getting back.Review fromjacob s

1 starIf there was an option to put zero stars, I would. Dealer salespeople and managers hid car info and lied about the condition of the car listing. Contacted the dealership and spoke to Endrit, who I confirmed the car was a one-owner clean car fax, zero accidents vehicle. Endrit stated it was as described multiple times as the listing described, and then when I asked more questions about the car, he said he was new, so he transferred me to the sales manager Trevor who then stated the car was indeed a one-owner clean fax car with a couple minor defects (scratch on wheel and bumper that's it) and we worked out a appointment time in which I would be driving 8 hours to see the car told them this and along with that I said i would be putting 15k down on the car. Upon arrival, the car looked clean, but I soon realized it was in an accident because of how many defects on the car it had on the front end then I had them pull the car fax, and it actually was 3 owners and had been in an accident. When I confronted Trevor, he acted oblivious and said he had no idea this was even true lied about the body work being done lied about the listing and stated he never said it was a 1 owner clean car fax but stated this multiple times overall terrible experience with shady salespeople after the whole situation they essentially acted as if it were their first day on the job and have never seen a car before would not recommend them at all and when they reply saying this never happened I have pictures of listing saying its a clean car fax and picture of the car fax they pulled inside of the dealership.Review fromMarcie O

1 starIf you are looking for a used car salesman/mangers that fits the image of the 1980s movie "Used Cars" then Kunes is the place to go. I purchased my 3 rd used vehicle from them and can't believe I went back after the first 2 purchase and issues. I expressed to them my concerns and previous experiences before i purchased. I was reassured (lied to) and was told by said manager that they were going to make it right this time and what a great car i was getting and what a steal and how lucky I am to have purchased the one I did. Not even 100 miles on the car after purchasing and mechanical issue. I was told by ****** manager/ said owner that I am adult and purchased the car so it's my problem lol Not even going to get into their lack of servicing and checking their used inventory and the while of my personal experiences. But I will systematically tell every person I come into contact with as well as every site that wants a review of this place. I was warned by 3 previous customers of their management and selling of used cars unchecked. Just know the reviews on ******** don't reflect the true nature of peoples experiences. Look into review sites nowhere else do they even come close to a 3 star rating. Somehow ** reviews are exceedingly higher. The sleeziness and condescension used by the manager who says it's "his" store and kicked me out after i told him what I thought of him and the ****** ****** ******* ** * *** ** **. Best recommendation I have is to stay away from Kunes as a whole. Zero integrity as a business, The 2.5 rating they have on **** and elsewhere is more accurate for this place rather than the friends and people that post on **. ****** ****** little man of a manager that runs the place is laughable and his dishonesty and lack of integrity literally oozes out of the little guy.Review fromEric H

1 starBefore signing my contract for my 2017 Ford Escape titanium, I was told all repair will be handled 100% as a condition all repair WILL be completed. There's a shaking going uphill on any incline. I took it back to the dealership 3 times and they couldn't figure out what was wrong. Unskilled mechanics working there or lazy. So I took it to Goodyear to have them look at it. They found the problem and they said it would cost $1300. I called the dealership again and told them what the problem was. They said they were not going to fix it and I was "**** OUT OF LUCK " Buyer beware. They don't guarantee anything and will not stand behind their word. I will never go back to the dealership and telling all friends, family and coworkers to never go to Kunes of Woodstock.Review fromGeorgieann J

1 starI had an appointment to look at a specific car. Over the last 3 or 4 days I had a minimum of 2 phone calls and 2-4 texts per day. First of all, they wanted me to set up an appointment. After the appointment had been made, they continued to confirm the appointment, multiple times, with several different people making these calls. We had snow that morning early so the roads were in questionable shape. We had to drive over 1 hour and waste 1/4 tank of gas. I took the day off of work (with permission) with no pay. Upon arriving, the salesperson went to get the keys. He came back with bad news. The owner/CEO had taken the car to one of their other lots in Delavan either that morning or the previous day. We went to one of their lots (GMC, Buick, they also have a Ford dealership) The manager there checked into it and said, unfortunately, the car was no longer for sale. It is a "bait and switch". They offered me $1,000 off any other vehicle. Bad business. I will never do business with any of their dealerships. "0" stars! I am ******.Review fromtiffany k

2 starsIn June 2024 I purchased a 2014 Ford Escape SE for $10kfrom Kunes in Platteville,WI with a warranty that,as long as I have the vehicle,I can come to them to have it fixed.6 mo later it's in their shop with what looks like a bad head gasket leak. .so bad it needs to have the engine rebuild(what Ford Co told them to do)&it'll cost$10k warrantyonly covering half. Went to *************,detailing my situation&if this sounded right not even mentioning a dealership name&I get a flood of people asking if it was Kunes, this sounds like something they would do,that they ripped them off& scammed them.To the point I didn't feel bad putting up another post saying,yes..this is them..to where even more negative stories came forth of how they got scammed, ripped off, that they knowingly sold them a bad car, didn't do repairs correctly or at all as they said they did. Former employees with stories of being treated bad & shady dealings.A couple people said their was a lawsuit on Kunes because of their shady dealings that was majorly hush hush& that things didn't get resolved until a lawyer or bbb or the like where contacted.Over all it's a defect in the engine from Ford's end,but they won't do anything aboutit.Mymajorcomplaint comes from the fact that Kunes had to have known that there was something wrong with that car for it to be so bad so soon&knowingly sold me a bad car or they didn't expect it closely enough or at all.One mechanic did say that the price does seem high.Another said that they're charging you for the price of the warranty so they don't have to pay for it..that my actual cost is only about half that amount. They've also had my car almost 2 weeks as I'm trying to figure this out saying that as soon as a loner vehicle is available I'll get one. I called again & they said they don't know if one will be available.I live 30 min away & need to get to work & places I can't afford taxi etc especially w this repair. I'm never dealing with them again after this.Review fromBarb H

1 starI caution anyone thinking of purchasing from Kunes or using their service department. They speak of ********* **** values but have failed to act in the same manner. Actions speak louder than words. After experiencing the worst customer service in my lifetime and being left with a Travel Trailer we could not use and NO ONE from Kunes reaching out to us we then filed small claims last November. To date, they failed to show up to court and obey multiple court orders or contact us to resolve the situation. They believe they are above the law. THIS IS NOT A BUSINESS YOU WANT TO SPEND YOUR MONEY AT! They will take your money and then leave you hanging.Review fromMichelle J

1 starWe recently purchased a car at Kunes Mad City Mitsubishi. Unfortunately, it was a bad experience. We trusted they would have the cars for sale in the best condition they could because they were a dealership. We didn’t take it anywhere to be inspected. They gave us a price & said they can’t come down because major repairs had been done on the car already. On bringing the car home we realized the oil leak had not been fixed and verified that with the local Audi dealer who Kunes said they had taken it to. This was a lie. We also realized the driver side mirror was very loose and needed repair. Plus the tires were all different brands and wear, which damages the drive train we learned. Two being unsafe to drive on, but slightly in the range of legally accepted. The process of dealing with getting those items repaired has taken about eight weeks. We were given a smoky loaner car for 6 weeks for the first two items to be completed. On receiving the car again we realized they had driven the car about 400 miles to “test” the oil leak. They said they drove it about 100 miles total. We have photos of the odometer to know they lied again. We suspected this would happen since the sales manager asked if we wanted him to test the oil leak by driving it to his cabin about 400 miles total distance. We didn’t understand why this extensive driving was needed and told him no thank you. As for the tires, they first said we had driven the car since purchase and when it left the lot the tires were ok. My husband helped them see this is not our fault and that they had sold us an inferior product. They agreed to pay for two of the tires and we pay for the other two. The sales manager also admitted that they do not fix every item needed on cars so they can keep the costs to the customer down. It would have been nice have full disclosure of condition to know that things needed to be fixed. Overall service and quality of their product is poor. See **** review.
