On Dec 23rd, 2021 our tractor trailer was subject to the adverse weather pile up on I-94 in *****, **. Our unit ended up in a shallow median on its wheels. Subsequent to the final resting spot the cab mounts of the truck had been broken off. We have many pictures and drone footage of the incident. Other than lifting the cab apart from the frame of truck, the rest was a routine tow job. We received a detailed invoice for $36,000 for a removal that should have been 1/3 of that at most. When contacted, the owner had no interest in negotiating the ****. Our trailer was loaded and other then 1 flat tire was still roadworthy. They would not release our time sensitive load until a cash money transfer was made to their account. We received pictures of the unit after it was in the impound. The remainder or truck and trailer were still hooked together. It was obvious that they were never separated during the transportation to impound. This portion of the invoice was close to $7000.Next, we were charged for 6 hours of every piece of equipment, although we understand there is a 4-hour minimum, we feel the time charged was excessive.
