These people are criminals. I have been jerked around for almost 7 months after the unplanned, emergency C-Section birth of my son. I have had 3 doctors sign the requested forms to verify I was told not to return to work for 13 weeks due to preeclampsia. The Hartford continues to send the same forms back to the doctors and ask them to fill them out. I have documentation of all the times my doctors have complied with their requests and The Hartford refused to cover my leave of absence and closed my case. I will be taking them to small claims court. DO NOT USE THIS INSURER.

This Company is ridiculous, Claudine G**** is/was my Claim Handler and dealing with The Hartford has been complete HELL. Since the beginning Claudine G**** has always dropped the ball from late workers comp payments to not handling phone calls correctly. I would call for basic info not anything legal and she would deny deny deny talking to me, This last incident took the cake i was hurt at work back in 2023 and i just had my impairment rating Dec 13th 2024 on Dec 11th i called and emailed Claudine G**** to update Direct Deposit due to my old account they had on file being closed. Claudine G**** sent me the form email i filled is out on there portal got confirmation and guess what She never updated the info. FAST FORWARD to how i found out i called to make sure and they told me it was not, on there website its supposed to take 2-3 days to update and it was not updated. To make matters worse Claudine G**** and Elizabeth C**** denied me and would not allow me to change my personal direct deposit info which is completely against my rites, I do not have to have an attorney do this i am very much allowed to do this on my own, i got hung up on by Elizabeth C***** So now i could of had a payment i really needed especially this time of year but instead it will be going to a closed account and i have to wait longer because Claudine G**** will not return untill January 2nd and she stated on her voicemail that will not be monitored. This company has no knowledge of legal and personal rites and will be pressing this issue they have completely screwed things up time after time!!!!!! Claudine G**** and Elizabeth C**** have violated my personal rites and i am very upset!!!!The Hartford cannot legally refuse to update your direct deposit information simply because you have an attorney; this would be considered discriminatory and is not a valid reason to deny a standard request to change your banking details. Why this is not allowed: No legal basis:There is no law that permits

If you are an AARP member, PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE THIS INSURANCE! I trusted the AARP endorsement without checking with the BBB and as I a result did not know of this HORRIBLE company. I have had nothing but bad service with them with my automobile insurance even though I pay 6 months in advance. First time is when they convinced me to go paperless (that was a mistake). I never got an email about renewal. I called 3 months ago to find out why my app wasn’t working and they said I didn’t have any insurance with them. After talking to a different person in the company, I found out they only recorded half my email address. Six hours later, I had to get approval for reinstatement even though they had the correct email address on app. They wanted to keep my bank information in system so they can automatically bill me but I said NO as I do not trust their security. I changed my billing preference to post office mail only. Today I found out my 6 mo payment was not cashed until 12/9/24 even though my bank sent them a check on 11/18/24. Now I do not have insurance since it was due 12/1/24. No email or mail notice was sent to me and now I have to wait until their manager call me to discuss the issue. I spoke to my bank and have a letter stating the 11/18/24 payment. I called AARP to file a complaint about endorsing their company and will share this story online. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!

If you as an employer value your employees insurance needs, example: maternity,PFL, disability....do not choose the Hartford. If you call or chat about days off, nothing is the same, they open new claims instead of putting data on existing. I've been with same employer ,been through 2 maternity leaves and a PFL and have to jump through hoops to get them to acknowledge papers faxed to them, report days requested, and the communication between me and communication between chat and analysis is terrible.... Just a big headache. One person says one thing, another will tell you something different. Noone ever calls you back. Don't choose the Hartford for your employees.

This company need to be investigated they have truly taken advantage of elder when it comes to auto insurance and rental insurance. They are practicing underhanded pricing when it comes to renewing of policies. They still have my old address or invoices which I have pulled. My insurance was $100 and then $110 and not it’s $126. Then when I contact them it’s makes no sense and they have misinformed me several times and now I looked into my account they charge me $126.32 they never send out notice never send out insurance cards as requested. On my Automobile Electronic Withdrawal Notice they still have my old address's. Then my address they had my address ********* and where ever that is. But yet they don’t have my personal information correct but keep over charging me hike for no reason at all. Haven’t been in an accident but yet they keep charging me for the wrong reason. I am looking for other insurance companies now this company needs to be investigated for taking advantage of the elderly. It needs to be a Lawsuit against this company. AARP shame on you for allowing this type of underhanded practices when it comes to practices. Shame on you.

The Hartford have Representatives that do not know what they are doing or not informed correctly when a person calls in to make a payment over the phone we had many issues with our bill being messed up every single month even to the point with our initial sign up with insurance through the Hartford. We asked for renters insurance and Automotive and we're only signed up for automotive only to discover 3 months later that we did not have renters insurance but only Automotive. We will never do business again with the Hartford and it's such a shame because they are a part of AARP for individuals that are veterans or seen yours. Way to take advantage of people, do not, do not go through them for insurance. This company will not get to take advantage of my mother, not on my watch.

I am on short term disability. The Hartford insurance faxed paperwork to my provider to be filled out, but the faxed did not go through. I was not notified. Then they emailed my provider and the email was misspelled so it didn't go through. Again, I was not notified. It's been over a month and I have not been paid. Now they keep telling me that my claim is "processing". They told me that it takes 5 business days at maximum. That was 8 business days ago. I've been without pay for over a month. I'm at risk now for losing my insurance if I don't pay for it out of pocket. The Hartford gladly takes your money every month to pay for insurance, yet when you need it, it's impossible to get the help you need. Because of them, I have to delay treatment. I've never had to use disability. I didn't know that you're paying monthly for nothing.

I have home and auto insurance with The Hartford Insurance Co. I went with them because they were referred by ***** I had an accident where I hit a rock which blew out my front tire and damaged the wheel. I was about 90 miles from home and needed to be towed back home because the dealership where I bought the car did not have the wheel in stock and would not let me leave the car there. The Hartford has a tow company that they use which really a broker and all they do is call a real tow company. They charged me 906 dollars and while driving back I asked the tow driver what they charge and he said 450, so the tow broker added 456 dollars just for making the call which I could have done myself if I had known. The Hartford only reimbursed me for 150 and said they only reimburse for reasonable charges. Well they added the unreasonable charges themselves.

I wish I could give this piece of crap company zero stars. I recently had surgery and I had to jump through hoops to get 75% of my salary. My doctor extended my FMLA and it is crickets from this joke of a company! Do they not realize people have bills to pay? Filing a complaint with the state attorney general next!

The Hartford is my *** group disability benefits insurer. In 2019, the insurer faxed requests to my doctors to obtain 270 days of medical records prior to joining my employer to review them for a pre-existing condition. However, the *** group Policy only permitted that their insurer obtain 180 days of records. It appears that the insurer deliberately breached the Policy terms. In 2020, the insurer paid *** Peer Review Services, owned by ********* **, a *** Financial Audit Client, to fabricate and fax « peer documents ». These ***. « Peer documents » contain(ed) false, deceptive, unfactual assertions that cannot be substantiated. They also conceal(ed) material facts in my proof of loss claim records. The « Peers » did not demonstrate that they knew my *** own occupation nor its essential duties in order to determine my benefits eligibility. On 4/23/20, The Hartford sent me a fraudulent, false claims benefits denial notice, an ***** Title 1 document, that falsely denied that I was eligible for benefits, when in fact, I was. I was unaware that The Hartford, PwC’s Fiduciary, paid ***** Audit Client for the fraudulent « peer documents ». Three of my Médical Providers received the false *** « peer documents » and contested their legitimacy. I was harmed when the Insurer defrauded me of benefits in 2020. After they were reinstated, three years later, Hartford Fiduciary Agents began sending more false claims emails and letters in an attempt to defraud me of the remaining benefits. The fraudulent emails and letters contradicted and concealed material facts in my September 2023 Attending Physician Statement and falsely asserted that I could return to work. I have repeatedly asked their Fiduciary Agents, via letters, to please stop violating the Law to harm me, but they will not cease and desist. They have been relentless. They send unfactual, meritless emails and letters denying their crimes that are materially evidenced in the claim records.
