The Hartford group does not have an option for a claim to be conducted face-to-face. I am neurodivergent and have immense trouble talking on the phone to strangers, especially about something as personal as accommodations. After HR discussed that my only two options were to file a claim online or by a voice call, I received the okay to have my partner call on my behalf. She had to talk to four different representatives, all who had conflicting information, and was even hung up on. What's more, is even though my accommodations clearly state that I was not to do voice calls, they forced me to consent over the phone, even though they were already notified of my situation and that my partner would be submitting the claim on my behalf. This company is completely and utterly ableist and needs to do better. Come on, y'all, its 2025.

The Hartford has charged me $152 to renew my policy despite my explicit request at the time of enrollment that it should not renew. I always review my options before deciding to continue with a provider, and the representative assured me that my policy would not automatically renew. However, I later discovered that the policy had been renewed without my authorization. Prior to the renewal date, I called to request a quote and was informed that the quotes would be sent to my email. However, upon discovering that my policy had been renewed without my authorization, I contacted customer service to dispute the renewal. I urged the representative to review the call recordings, as I am always clear and specific in such matters. Despite this, they attributed the renewal to a third party, claiming that their policies automatically renew and that a separate cancellation request was required. This situation is unacceptable, as I was misinformed and charged for a renewal I did not consent to. I should have been offered a full refund of the unauthorized charge.

The Hartford is dishonest and without scruples. I was told I had to get a new roof because it was old. I got a new roof. I paid in full for a new roof. The roof was certified and warrantied. I got it within the time required. I called Hartford and told them the roof was completed. I asked if they needed anything else. I was told no. I was told what my premium would be. Months later I was sent a letter stating my policy would not be renewed because I did not have the roof done. I immediately faxed 8 documents to them with extensive proof the roof had been completed well within the time frame. They said the underwriters would not renew my policy. I asked if they had all the documents. He repeated the underwriters would not renew my policy. I asked if the recording was listened to when I was told nothing further was needed was listened to. He said no. I have never had a claim. I am a perfect customer. What is the real reason they are not renewing my policy? Are they afraid to admit they made a mistake? The AARP recommends the Hartford. Reading the reviews on the BBB and ***** ***** and several others their ratings are 1 - the lowest. Seniors are being taken advantage of by Hartford.

They will spend thousands to not pay you for losses covered by their competitors. I was a brand new business forced to close due to water intrusion in a leased space. I paid for the highest level of coverage. The landlords failure to maintain the building means my insurance was WORTHLESS. Unethical, criminals.

I had business insurance and paid full at the time of renewal, Last year 2024 before renewal I informed them I am going to sell business and no need for renewal, but they send me audit for the new policy. I did not do that. they make a bill for me again. They don't understand that there is no business any more. Just know to make a bill for you in advanced. I can not get rid of them. they are brain less and just want collect money.

Awful. I canceled my policy & took the auto pay option off my account. They still took the money out! I called customer service and spoke to a woman. She was not helpful at all. She would not even look into it for me to get answers. So glad I did not renew and I changed Insurance Companies. I also saved 500 dollars! Do not do business with them. I need that money and they won't help. She also rushed me off the phone like I was a bother. Extremely frustrating and very poor customer service.

The Hartford more than doubled my rate claiming that the car I drive is prone to theft. Some models of Kia are high risk, mone is not one of those! I found insurnace that was hundreds of dollars cheaper with better coverage and canceled my Hartford policy. They continued to bill me. When I called to see why and explained that the policy had been canceled they said, "oh I guess your agent forgot to file the cancellation." Ended up having to pay them or fight it out in court. The Hartford is a crooked company.

They are scammers who with **** lure you away from your exisiting auto insurance . You must join **** in order to get their lowball offer of an auto rate. I did this in 2023 and turned age 80 in the middle of the first six month period. We used the Trulane app for a reduction which tracks your driving. which was fine. No acccidents, no bad driving on app. Upon renewal date they canceled the policy while I was out of town and had not used the car for about three weeks. So no Trulane recorded trips . The payment was on Auto Pay which means they will draw the money from my bank or credit card . They declined to take the payment unilaterally and never advised me of the cancellation. No notice to me or State of Florida as required by law. After driving for a few days following my return I checked the driving app and find zero trips so I signed on to policy and find it has been cancelled. Nearly had a stroke thinking I am driving without insurance so I call them. Refused to re-instate policy and could not explain why they did not take funds. (I feel it was because of age alone) . All together there was no insurance for maybe twenty days which break in insurance coverage has cost me dearly to replace with other insurance because there is a penalty for a break in insurance.
