I do not have account with fitness center in reference but somehow they have my phone number. Not for any account I signed up for SO I AM ASKING DO NOT CALL ********** EVER AGAIN. I may have has an account there many years ago, a visit there in person they told me canceled in good standing. Tell them to leave me alone. I will never join their fitness gym.Business response

I have been trying to cancel my membership with youfit gyms via ABCfitness, they sent me an email about my late fees, so I paid it under the condition that I could cancel my membership under the buyout option. They said originally on March 24,2024 that I could cancel my membership under the buyout option, I have been trying to complete that transaction but they refuse to do it. I received an email today stating that I could not cancel my membership under the buyout option. Their excuse was "as of 2024, they don't offer the buyout option" and I would be required to still pay my membership.Business response

I'm contacting you because I would like to cancel my membership due to breach of contract with The Edge Hamden. It's a breach because The Edge charges a yearly membership fee which goes towards the maintenance of the gym and the equipment. I've reached out to the edge before in which the general manager emailed me saying that she was new there but would get it taken care of. To her credit, she did have someone look at it because I saw there were new stickers on the machines and one of the belts looks newer. The issue is not fixed though. The issue with the machines is a serious one because it can cause an injury. When running on the machine, the machine stops for a split second. That ruins posture and puts more pressure on your ankles. I've actually gone home with some soreness from this. Recently I went onto another machine and the machine can't even detect me as I'm running on the machine. About 5 mins in it says user not detected. I've tried multiple machines, also I've told some of the reps and even showed them in person and the employees seem not to care they cut you off and say they'll get it taken care of and don't. So, sending an email is the only way to get it looked at. However, it seems that after the gym paid to have it looked at the issue wasn't fixed so are we just throwing away money? I don't like my money to be wasted, and I'm sure your business does not like it either. These machines should be marked out of order at least so it does not cause an injury and a lawsuit. I feel that I'm being reasonable here. If the edge is able to fix the problem great! I'll keep my membership... However, last time I reported it and came in weeks later to find they were looked at but not fixed. So, all I ask is to be released from my contract without having to pay a remaining balance because I did not fail as a member, but the edge did fail on their side of the contract. I pay for access and maintenance. The edge has not held up their side of our agreement.Business response

Whenever he has reported an issue, it was logged into the system and the techs did assess and address the issue. I am rejecting this response because:I want this to go for the record, I alerted multiple times employees of the gym about the maintenance issues. I stopped going to the gym for a while but continued paying my dues. I returned and that’s when I decided to send an email instead because I was tired of finally feeling motivated to attend the gym, & never being able to workout because the machine made it difficult. To the edges credit, in Hamden they did send people to fix it. However this was after sending an email on their page. The first time they checked it out, the problem was not fixed. I told an employee and showed him, nothing was done. That’s when I asked to cancel. - Then made this complaint on the bbb because I want everyone to see my experience. & I was seeking cancelation of my membership.
after I sent the complaint, about 3-4 hrs after the BBB officially sending the complaint. I received an email saying the edge was closed for maintenance. I’m glad corporate seems to care. I saw they finally did fix it this time. But then I’m saddened again because 2 days later they announced they would be closing the cinema for good to allow for expansions. The only meaningful difference between planet fitness Hamden and the edge in Hamden was that cinema to me. It was why I signed up. I can goto orange now until I finish my 8 months. I will not be renewing however since the cinema has been closed at my closest edge.
Thanks for the help in getting the maintenance done, I don’t seek further assistance.

ABC fitness solutions is a billing company for YouFit fitness centers. The YouFit gym that I signed up with closed shortly after ABC charged me for an annual fee which would be an annual fee for 2024. There is no YouFit gym for me to attend near my residence for 2024 so I request that both my wife, ****** *****, and I be reimbursed for the annual fee since I have no access to this gym for the majority of 2024. Further more, I asked ABC to refund it and they said they were not able to but when I challenged the charge on my credit card they were more than happy to explain, erroneously, that I had access to the gym. What they failed to say was that I had access to the gym the day they charged me the annual fee but I do not have access to the gym after that as they closed their doors. My agreement number is ********** and my wife's agreement number is **********. I expect the company to refund the annual fee as they did not provide an annual access to the gym I signed up with for 2024Business response

I went into the Garland location at **** ********* ***, Garland, TX ***** in December to cancel my Texas Family Fitness as I haven't used it in over 10 years and was changing my bank account information. I spoke with the lady at the front and provided the necessary information but was provided with no documentation. It is now February and they are still trying to charge me for annual updates and membership. I still receive robot calls from them and when I try to return them get caught in an endless loop of "...we still need one more piece of information." I don't have that. The robotic message suggests that I can call the club, so I call the club and all they can advise is to come in person to the location and cancel...which I already did. I have exhausted all options as the consumer and need the company to abide by their own cancellation policy. Cancel my membership, delete my information from your system, stop trying to take money from my bank account effective immediately.Business response

I am rejecting this response because: it is the exact same response I denied before and does not resolve the issue as I still receive calls regarding membership and dues. A repeated stock response from a company changes nothing, as their stated steps have already been followed and shows a general lack of concern toward the issue.Their response is rejected until:
1. it is acknowledged that my account was cancelled 12/28/2023.
2. No further debits were owed after 1/28/2024.

I have had a nightmare of a time with ABC financial. I was forced to move from my home when my entire apartment flooded in September of 2023. I lost the majority of my belongings. I had temporary housing for a short period of time in the same building but eventually I was forced to move back in with my family to recoup my financial losses. I began the process of cancelling my gym membership on January 3rd of 2024. I have never dealt with a company with worse communication than ABC financial. 6 weeks later and I have been charged twice more due to their lack of responsiveness. I have provided them exactly what has been needed to cancel (a license stating I resided more than 15 miles from the closest club) and they continue to ignore me. I will never again sign up for a gym who uses ABC financial because every gym I have gone to that uses them has been a similar headache. They don’t even provide a name of who is supposed to be helping nor do they provide a phone number to call. Overall it’s been a nightmare during already devastating times, it should have been one of the smaller things on my plate.Business response

I called in on November 31 of 2023 to cancel my membership. I was told by the employee I spoke with that it was a very simple process. He just needed to do it and the system. I asked if I needed to come in person or if they could do it over the phone and he said over the phone would be fine. I was told my membership was canceled, but I would have one more fee since I called on the 30th and not the 31st due to their 30 day policy. Annoying yes, but I just let it go and move down with my day. After that charge came through on December 30th 2023, I made sure to call in and confirm everything that was told to me the month prior. Surprisingly I was told my membership still had not been canceled. Understandably frustrated, the employee I spoke with decided to once again tell me my membership is being processed for cancellation but this time there will be no charge. I thanked him and disconnected. January 3 2024 I call in to confirm if I am finally cancelled just to get told I was not and that they were going to cancelled my account AGAIN!! Very upset I once again asked about the fee, and was told that they were going to send a special email to their district manager to make sure that fee gets waived. Sure enough I look at my statement on January 30th to see yet another charge! I once again call in to which disappointedly I get told there’s absolutely nothing they can do but the membership is in process of being canceled. At this point, I decide to call another Location, who stepped in and tried to help me because they’re not sure why this is taking so long.. While the manager at this location was very nice and ended our conversation with me feeling a lot better. Through my work I located the number for ABC financial. To which I called just to hear the recording tell me my membership is set for cancellation and official date is February 24 2024!! At this point I am very disappointed with how Eos fitness has handled everything and I’m out about 80 bucks! Horrible service!Business response

In October of 2023, my bank card was closed due to fraud. This caused the monthly charge for Crunch Fitness to declined. I was not able to rectify the problem with Crunch until December 9th, 2023. In that time, ABC called and harassed me daily. I called Crunch to pay the balance in December where I was advised they would waive any late fees. I paid $52 to clear the balance. On 01/08/2024, Crunch/ABC charged me $62 randomly. When I asked for a reason for the charge, they were unable to provide the reason. I went to my Crunch location and they said that even though they promised to waive late fees, ABC/the payment processing department decided not too. Which caused the $62 charge. I am extremely frustrated. No one has been able to help. The customer service is horrible abd they won't cancel my member ship until I pay another $17.Business response

Sent in a copy of signed lease via certified mail more than the required distance away in order to cancel account due to moving. The requirements to cancel are incredibly vague, my legally binding signed lease for a location over the required distance away is not sufficient proof to cancel. The "requirements" that they then sent me are no different than a signed lease and will take more time to acquire, thus prolonging how many additional payments I have to make as well as requiring me to send it in via certified mail again.Business response
