I called in two days ago, regarding canceling my membership due to my medical condition. I provided all the information that was requested and documentation even though this company’s business practices violates hippa law. I tried to contact corporate by phone and I’m not getting a verbal response they keep ducking and dodging me. I sent the information requested regarding my condition to abc fitness customer care. *** **** ******* in ******** knew about my condition and still decided to sign me up just to make a sale and because they were money hungry. I was told by an employee of Planet Fitness on ******* ***** in Wilmington, Delaware I had to come in to cancel my membership before my next bill date in order to cancel the membership and not incur additional charges. I cancelled in person on April 16th, but was charged again on April 17th. I was directed to ABC Fitness Solutions as they handle the billing and therefore would handle the refunds but they refused to do so, and instead told me to call the location about a refund. This is unfair business practices for charging members for a cancelled membership fee, and no one at ABC would issue the refund. Canceled Membership Mar 11 2025 and the access to the gym and other associated services=s were terminated form this date forward. The balance has since been paid, and his account is scheduled to be cancelled on May 4, 2025.

On 3/27/25 I had a payment for my gym authorized. I no longer had my bank account so I went into their app and entered my card and stored that payment method so they can authorize a payment. On that day I also canceled my agreement because I had paid my balance. I received the email confirmation saying the payment should be tried within the next 28 to 48 hours as I provided in the documentation.However when I went to the gym on April 4 they told me that my payment did not go through and that I will be charged for month because I had a past due balance. I called the customer service line and asked if I can authorize a payment and asked what with the payment and why it didn’t go through. They could not provide me a definite answer but I authorize the payment one more time. The next day I see that payment did go through either. At this point I am being inconvenienced because I cannot use my gym membership that I have tried to pay for twice. I called once again and explained the whole situation to them and they said they would resolve the issue. However yesterday I still see that my account balance is past due and I have tried to authorize this payment times. I have also called my bank to see if they are placing a hold however they are not. I emailed them stating the situation and they keep telling me too call the customer service line and authorize the payment or update my billing information which I have done multiple times. At this point I would like a the $47.99 that’s due on the account to be waived because I have tried to pay it three times and their system is faulty they are not admitting to it. I have not been able to use the membership since they are not resolving this issue accordingly. you can see from the documents I try to authorize the payment again yesterday and on their system it is not even showing that it has tried to go through. They also keep telling me to call the customer service line but that it’s nothing done. I want the contract cancelled.Business Response

Once the amount was paid his account would have been cancelled on February 15, 2025. After being in a delinquent status for so long *** *********’s account was forwarded to ****** *** **********, a collection agency fired by Youfit. On February 20, 2025 I called my Anytime Fitness club, address ***** ******** ***** Kansas City KS 66109 phone *** *** **** and requested to cancel my membership. I was instructed that I could not cancel over the phone that i would have to come in club to do so. Coming into the club requires me to take off work. I went into the club 3/10/2025 and was given a small piece of paper with ABC Fitness contact information and was told to cancel i had to call. I asked if i could just cancel in person at the club and was told i could not i had to call. I would have called on 2/20/2025 had I been given that information. I called ABC Fitness they were less than helpful because they wanted me to to pay my monthly fee and the annual club enhancement fee. I escalated to a supervisor who reached out to the club and later that evening emailed me back stating that the club agreed to waive the enhancement fee but i would still owe the $40 membership feel. I responded the following day 3/11 requesting an updated invoice because the only one i had said I owed $73. On 3/24/2025 I reached back out to ******* ************* and the customer care team at ABC Fitness requesting an updated invoice and i asked it be sent by 4/1/2025. Customer care responded on 3/25/2025 that i could log on to my account online to receive account balance. I informed them i did not wish to do that to retrieve a single invoice and make a final payment. We exchanged several emails on 3/25/2025 because they stated i owed $73.25 and also sent me an invoice for $235.29. I provided them with emails and a screenshot of my previous messages and they then finally confirmed that i owed $40.51 but still did not provide an invoice. I tried registering my account today online to pay and was unable to because the website kept taking me to an older Planet Fitness account. I called customer care and they said i still owed $73.25 and i would have to call the club. I have attached all emails. I no longer wish to pay anything.Business Response

?DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH ABC FITNESS SOLUTIONS or ANYTIME FITNESS GYM? ?Here's why? My Anytime Fitness membership began on February 2, 2024. I canceled my membership on February 11, 2025. I am being charged to this day and it's March 28, 2025. They charge Bi-weekly. That's approximately $120 they have taken since I canceled. The owner at Anytime Fitness told me that I had to call ABC Fitness to deal with cancelling and refunding. ABC Fitness told me that the local gym dealt with cancelling and refunding. Both seem shady now and I don't understand why it's so difficult to refund someone after they keep charging when one's contract is up. The first conversation I had with ABC Fitness was super unprofessional. The man that I spoke with kept blowing into the phone and couldn't find my account information. He asked for my phone number because I didn't know my agreement number and he couldn't find my account. He then proceeds to ask for my email. I declined to provide it because he barely speaks English and I know they like to sell information. I go in person to my gym to get my agreement number. I get the number and call back ABC Fitness and I get a woman this time who "FINALLY" finds my account after I say that I'm taking this to the upper case managers and writing a complaint on BBB. 3/28 - I requested in person to cancel my account with Anytime Fitness, who ABC owns, back in Dec of 2024. The gym told me they would email me the appropriate info to do so. The gym did not have my contact info filed properly, completely due to their input error. They have been emailing my bills and comms to an email that is not mine. That is sensitive information. Since I was receiving nothing, I moved on, and perhaps incorrectly assumed my cancelation went through. But I then noticed I have been receiving exorbitant charges to my credit card ever since and decided to go in person to the gym to work it out. They informed of having the wrong email info on file, changed it and advised me to contact their owner ABC Fitness, because they aren’t allowed to cancel memberships in person even though they informed me I have an open membership with no hoops to jump through or fees to pay. I emailed ABC Fitness and they have told me that they are working on my cancelation request, but it will take them at least 30 days from 3/28. In the meantime, they will have to charge me for all the dates between now and 5/2/2025. That includes two more membership charges and an “enhancement fee” of $29. None of this is within any contract I have signed. ABC Fitness is not tied to their gyms and thus do not care about customer satisfaction. They are simply a money leach.Business Response

In August I attempted to cancel my gym membership (at *** ******* in spokane valley/Veradale) in person, on a Saturday. I was then told at the location, that I can’t cancel my membership on weekends. (NOTE: I have re-read the contract today (3/26/25) and it appears that there is no stipulation on the contract regarding a need for cancellations to be on a week day! So I have been charged unjustly for the past 6-7 months of membership.) I had to move to bothell the next day- so I called the following week on a weekday to cancel. I tried to then cancel over the phone and was told that was impossible. I then got charged for the next 7 months. After sending a written cancellation letter I was told the final balance I needed to pay to fully cancel my membership was $86.61. On 03/25/25 I paid this balance- and then requested that I get a confirmation of my cancellation. I was told that I had to wait until the next day because the operations manager wasn’t in. I called the next day (03/26/25) at 2:01pm and was told that the operations manager couldn’t help me because she was on lunch for the next hour. At 304pm(the same day) I called and was put on hold and then was hung up on. At 305pm(the same day) I called back and got an answer from the operations manager ***** ****** and then was told I couldn’t have my confirmation of cancellation for another 20minutes. When I complained as I had just waited an hour because she was conveniently on lunch the exact time I called was told she takes a 2 hour lunch and that “patience is a virtue” and that I can’t call her back again. She then hung up on me. At 3:26pm (the same day) I received the cancellation letter which I have attached to this complaint. Keeping in mind I was told that my account was successfully cancelled after I paid the 86.61$, I now see there is a balance of 31.61$ that remains on my account.
