In spring of 2022, I agreed to a digital advertising campaign of $2000. They have overcharged $3200 for a total of $5200. They charge in increments all 2 months apart to stay under radar. They don't provide an agreement or sales order, etc. When called to discuss, they said they would refund, but then they haven't. We have begun the dispute process with the credit card company because of their lack of response. ***** CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY. TOO MANY STORIES LIKE MINE HERE ON BBB AND OTHER SCAM SITES.

    Hello *****,

Thank you for reaching out to Digital Fairways. We have helped thousands of small businesses each year grow their companies by advertising with us. We set high standards for ourselves, and we apologize if you had an unpleasant experience with one of our representatives. Our quality assurance team will review the calls and address your concerns with the people involved. For the misunderstanding, our team offered a refund of $2,399 as a courtesy. Again, I apologize for any inconvenience to you and your business and hope the rest of your week goes well. If you have any questions please reach out. Our customer service number is ************.

The response is actually what was stated over the phone, however, they stated that they are submitting a check for refund and previous refunds were promised but never executed.  Due to this, I cannot accept the response until the refund has been received and funds cleared the account. Otherwise the case will close and will appeared resolved. It would be premature to accept prior to the actual resolution being executed. I am happy to update as soon as the afore mentioned qualifications have been met. The time frame for response is too small for this type of resolution.

    Hello,

Thank you for your response. I understand that you have accepted the offer we made to resolve the issue, but you would like to wait till the funds have cleared in your account to update the ******************** that it's resolved. Unfortunately, the BBB timeframes are shorter then the amount of time this will take. However, the BBB does allow you to come back later and re-open your complaint if we do not follow through with the resolution we offered. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at ************.

I have received a check from the company for only a partial amount for what was agreed.  They paid $1599.00 on April 10, 2023 and mailed the check on 4/12. We received the check on 4/19. They did not reach out nor communicate that why they were not keeping the original agreement of $2,399. We tried to call, but no response. They have not maintained their promise to resolve our concern.

Digital Fairways had been calling around town soliciting advertisements for golf courses that they claimed to be affiliated with. Always trying to upsell you to another course. I had not been to the course for which they called me about but had golfed there prior. Seemed legit. Literally, the day that they pulled $349 out of my account I started seeing warnings from that golf course about them contacting their members and trying to sell them digital advertising. I contacted the Club manager and asked if this was the company to which they were warning and did they truly have a relationship with them. The manager, which I trust more than this company said no. I replied, so you're not going to be encouraging your members to download this app and use it while golfing then, are you? He said absolutely not. Which was one of their selling points was that the Clubhouse was going to advertise and encourage members to use their Digital Fairway app. He told me why should I do that when we already have our own. He gave me a number to call to speak with the person they just did to express their displeasure about them using what looks like ****** Earth map shots of the course and most notably, not having the right to use the course's name for profit. When I called the contact I was denied, although they literally just told them anyone that contacted on behalf of advertising at ************** would receive their money back, I filed a grievance with my bank. It was denied. ****** learned. Seeing how many complaints this company has against them doesn't surprise me. What surprises me is that they are still somehow in existence at a time when most businesses are struggling due to the economy and other issues we currently face. At this point, I am at the point of deciding to shut off the card just to make sure that they don't get another cent from my business.

    Hello *****,

Thank you for reaching out to us about your advertisement. Our app is solely for golfers, were a nationwide app that includes over ****** golf courses throughout the nation, if we were contracted with every course it would give us more limitations and we wouldnt be able to offer the advertisement for just $399 for the entire year. One of our customer service representatives did reach out and they've offered to refund you for your advertisement as a courtesy. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us at ************.

Sales team was misleading on exposure of ads and refused to provide any data or metrics. When asked directly, they intentionally answered my question incorrectly. When I pressed them on the issue, they did not respond to any of my calls or emails. I had to call the main phone number where I explained the situation, and again, they refused to provide any accurate metrics. On top of that, I was told multiple different numbers. In advertising, you are paying for impressions, and they can't tell you what you are paying for. I requested a refund and was denied.

    Hello *****,

Thank you for reaching out. I am showing you recently purchased an advertisement, and made a partial payment to reserve the space. Shortly after, you reached out to us requesting to cancel. Our customer service team left quite a few messages but we were not able to reach you until last week. At that point, you had filed a dispute with your financial institution. We did let you know that we would have to wait for that process to end before we could issue any sort of refund. Please reach out to us at ************ once you know their determination.

Only noticed this as it is the end of year and doing my 2022 earnings/ losses and noticed this . We were overcharged ******* dollars as we only accepted the 1st year . Hard to believe we paid for 4 years in a matter of 4 months.

    Hello,

Same complaint as all the others. So many additional charges months later after original purchase. Still haven't received an invoice with the breakdown of the fees and when they will end. They sign you up then upgrade you with additional courses for additional years. I just received another $399 charge out of the blue. Not one lead from the ads either. They sell you on the fact that the people golfing are business owners which sounds good. In the end not worth it.

    Hello ******,

Thank you for contacting us about your account. I understand that you reached out to us on the 22nd because you were not sure what the most recent charge was for. Our customer service representative let you know that it was the remaining balance due for the two year placement you had reserved. You also mentioned that you had not gotten any customers from the ad yet, so we offered to revise the art with any changes you feel would attract more clients. The customer service team sent you a refund check to the address on file. They also sent you over a paid in full receipt, and a list of the courses that you are on. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach back out to us at ************.

I was contacted by Digital Fairways about advertising my business at ************************** in ***********, then ***************** in *******, **. I paid the $799 for **************** in full and $200 of the $400 for ******* (invoices attached). I was later charged an additional $800 4 separate times. Each time I called the company and was told they would send me the paperwork showing this is what I originally agreed to. To this day, nothing has been sent to me. My last phone call to the company was with an obnoxious man in AZ who yelled at me. To make a long story short, I contacted **************************, to ask about the advertising and they confirmed they do NOT allow advertising and they have NOT and do NOT work with Digital Fairways. I then called the ***************** and was told they do not allow advertising and they do not work with Digital Fairways. To add insult to injury, Digital Fairways guarantees you will be the only professional in your trade advertising at that golf course. I was contacted by Digital Fairways about advertising at ******* - I asked the women who called me about the exclusivity at the courses and she confirmed I would be the only realtor advertising at that golf course. I asked her why she was calling me since I already had that spot. She put me on hold then I was promptly disconnected.I would like a full refund of all of my money. The advertising I paid for never happened and is forbidden by the organizations I was paying to advertise at. Digital Fairways is a complete fraud - I was lied to, yelled at and charged additional money without my consent. Please refund all of money - this lack of performance is unacceptable.

    Hello ******,

Thank you for reaching out to Digital Fairways. We have helped thousands of small businesses each year grow their companies by advertising with us. I understand that you were under the impression that these are advertisements that would be physically located at the golf course, however, these advertisements are within our application. Our app is solely geared toward golfers, we are a nationwide app and we have access to thousands of golf courses throughout the nation. We set high standards for ourselves, and we apologize if you had an unpleasant experience with one of our representatives. Our quality assurance team will review the calls and address your concerns with the salespeople involved. They will be admonished in accordance with our internal policies. For the misunderstanding, our team offered a full refund as a courtesy. Again, I apologize for any inconvenience to you and your business and hope the rest of your week goes well. If you have any questions please reach out.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

    Thank You,

    Customer Answer

There are multiple parts to my complaint and issue with the $4,400 Digital Fairways charged to my credit card.

With respect to Digital Fairways response that the advertising is on their own app is 100% in contradiction with the invoice they sent me which states "Congratulations on purchasing an advertisement at ****************************." They literally state: "AT ****************************".  I attached this document with my initial complaint.

Furthermore, I was continuously charged without my authorization. I placed several phone calls after each of the additional charges and nothing was ever addressed.

Finally, I was told these would be exclusive advertisements, only to receive a call from Digital Fairways asking me to advertise at a golf course I was supposed to have exclusivity.  When I questioned the person who called me, I was disconnected.

Again - I respectfully ask for a full refund of my $4,400. I never authorized the additional charges to my credit card.

    Thank you,

    ******

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out and letting us know that this has not been completely resolved for you. Within the app we have golf courses from all over the nation, you purchased your advertisement to be on the **************************** within the app. I apologize for any confusion this may have caused. I apologize if you were having difficulties getting ahold of someone. It does look like the employee that you were placing the calls to is no longer with the company, I apologize that he did not provide you with the service that you deserved. When you spoke with ****, he offered you another ad within the application for free, placing you on ************************* in Farmingdale. He also agreed to a courtesy refund of $2,000. We are glad that we were able to resolve these issues for you. If you have any additional questions please reach out to us at ************.

    Hello -

While it is true that last month **** offered me a $2,000 refund and print advertising, I have not received the refund.  I have called, e-mailed and texted and have not received a response. I was told the check was sent for processing and **** confirmed my home address. It has been 17 days, which is more than enough time to receive a check that was actually mailed.

Since I am not in receipt of the refund, nor has anyone responded to my inquires about the refund or provided any sort of update, this matter is not resolved.

Our business was contacted by Digital Fairways in Nov. 2020 and sold a marketing package for digital marketing for $399 for a limited time display on specific golf courses. The business credit card was charged $399 on Nov. 18th and additional "upsell" charges for $2200 were placed on our credit card on November 20, 2020 for a period of 2 years of displays. There was never a discussion of additional charges or any automatic charges to the credit card after the $2200 were charged for the 2 year period. On Jan. 5, 2021 and Feb. 19, 2021 there were additional charges placed on the credit card that were never authorized and we disputed them with Digital Fairways and asked for the "contract" that authorized these charges between our business and Digital Fairways. We asked for these charges to stop immediately when additional charges were noticed on our credit card statement on January 5, 2021 for $1,000. We again asked for the contract between our business and Digital Fairways that showed we authorized these "auto" charges, and to date no contract has been given to us by Digital Fairways. We continued to see charges on February 19, 2021; May 20, 2021; July 19, 2021; September 2, 2021; October 18, 2021, April 1, 2022; and July 8, 2022 totaling $9,795 to date. We want these charges to STOP immediately and be reimbursed for the amount of $7,196 which accounts for all the automatic charges that we did not authorize after November 20, 2020. We never authorized any of these additional charges and believe this company is a predatory scam company that needs to be investigated by law enforcement.

    Hello *****,

Thank you for reaching out to Digital Fairways. We apologize that your experience did not live up to your expectations.  We have helped thousands of small businesses each year grow their companies by advertising with us. When reviewing your orders, you purchased your advertisements on November 18th, 2020 to be placed on the Digital Fairways App. I am showing that there were several different golf courses and placements within the App that the ads were to be placed on. During our discussions with you, we figured out that *** was under the impression this would be a printed scorecard, not a digital scorecard. When customer service spoke with you to resolve any issues, they offered to refund the last three charges as well as an additional $600 per your request as a courtesy to resolve your concerns. This comes out to a total of $3,196. Again, we apologize that your experience did not live up to the high standards we set for ourselves. If you have any other questions please give us a call at ************ and we would be happy to address those for you.

My shop (**************) was cold called last year about advertising via the digital fairways app. Sounded OK and at $500 / year seemed like a fair price. Was called in Mar 22 about renewing for another year and I declined, so the offer was expanded to cover two local golf courses at the same $500 / year. and I agreed to that. My Mar CC bill reflected that charge. No problems with that. However, the charge was repeated on my April and May CC bill then again on my July CC bill for a total of $2000. Called them and a very polite young lady looked up my account and indicated it showed multiple golf courses and something else I hadn't heard of nor authorized. She apologized that I didn't understand the billing was monthly, not annual. She even provided a cell # and name indicating I should call if further problems arose. Made no attempt to understand that I was ripped off by $1500 of CC charges that were not authorized. Would like to get the additional $1500 of monthly charges back as a CC credit.
