      I am submitting this complaint because Experian continues to report a negative collection account (Account # ending in ***** associated with **************** / ***************** Services. Despite submitting a formal dispute and requesting a thorough reinvestigation under my rights afforded by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Experian has not removed this item or provided evidence of any meaningful reinvestigation.The same account was previously reported to all three credit bureaus. However, both ******* and ********** have since removed this account from my ********************** report. My Equifax report (attached) clearly shows the item is marked as "Consumer Disputes This Account **********************" and also indicates a collection balance of $540 linked to the original creditor, *********** Platinum. However, there is no documentation or verification provided to justify Experians continued reporting of this account.Under FCRA Section 611, a credit reporting agency must conduct a reasonable investigation when a consumer disputes an item. Simply verifying data electronically with the furnisher, without obtaining substantive documentation, does not meet the legal threshold of a reasonable reinvestigation. Furthermore, continuing to report a disputed item without proper verification can be considered willful noncompliance and can cause measurable consumer harm.This inaccurate reporting has affected my credit score and ability to qualify for credit products, and I am concerned that Experian is not upholding its obligation under federal law to ensure the maximum possible accuracy of the information they report. The fact that the other major bureaus have removed the same item suggests a lack of consistency and reliability in Experians handling of disputes.

      Thank you for your email. I hereby confirm that I authorized the submission of this complaint against Experian and formally request the BBBs assistance in resolving this matter. Below is a detailed summary of my concerns:

      1. Complaint Authorization
      ? I expressly authorize this complaint and all prior/future correspondence submitted to the BBB regarding Experian.

      ? This is a formal request for BBBs assistance in holding Experian accountable for Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) violations.

      2. Summary of Issues with Experian
      A. Inaccurate ***************************** One)

      Experian incorrectly reported a charge-off from March 2023 to January 2025, despite multiple disputes (copies attached).

      They failed to conduct a reasonable investigation under FCRA 1681i, even though:

      The debt was invalid/unverified (or [provide reason, e.g., "paid," "not mine"]).

      Other bureaus (Equifax, **********) do not report this.

      B. New *************************************** Services)

      During this dispute process, Experian added a new collection from Resurgent, dropping my score by 120 points.

      This collection does not appear on other credit reports, suggesting Experian failed to verify its accuracy (another FCRA violation).

      Experian continue to report this unverified alleged debt while in arbritration (Case ***************)

      C. Harm Suffered

      Denied a bank account due to *********************** errors (proof available upon request).

      Emotional/financial distress from prolonged inaccuracies.

      3. Requested Resolution
      Immediate deletion of the *********** charge-off and Resurgent collection from my Experian report.

      A formal explanation of how Experian verified these accounts.

      Confirmation of corrections in writing.

      S M C/******* JEWELERS: This account was reported as a collection/charge off and is affecting my score negatively. The reporting of this account is incorrect as I still see a balance atter it was chargeoff. I urge your agency to reinvestigate and provide all the missing information. Also,please explain why there is a past due balance reporting while the report show as a chargeoff? I'm pretty sure you know that it is a violation. I demand the immediate deletion of this account to ensure that your agency is reporting full and only complete information on my account.

      A Charge off status means that the credit grantor wrote the balance on the account off as a bad debt. When an account displays a status of charge off, this means the account is closed to future use, although the debt is still owed.

      The credit grantor may continue to report the past due amount and the balance owed. The account and the payment history will remain on the personal credit report for seven years from the initial missed payment that led to the charged-off status. If you pay the account, the status will reflect as a paid charge-off.

      If there is information appearing on a credit report that is believed to be inaccurate or incomplete, we must have a specific dispute.  Examples of specific disputes are as follows:not mine, paid in full, never delinquent or included in bankruptcy or for public record disputes: not mine, paid/satisfied, vacated or filed in error.  If the status dates, amounts,balances or other specific data is incorrect, the consumer should also indicate what the correct information should be. Please specify the item or account name and number.

      Please provide the consumers specific disputes along with their complete identification information (Social Security number, full name, current address,previous addresses in the last two years and date of birth).  Also, please include one copy of a government issued identification card, such as a driver's license, state ID card, etc., and one copy of a utility bill, bank or insurance statement, etc.

      I am unable to log in my account with a password I have written down.When I do a password recovery Experian's automated verification send me a verification pin that I never received. No person ever comes on line. I have written them to update my profile so I can receive the verification code but Experian has not acted on it. They keep putting me on the automated system which is not able to send me a verification code.I fear that the verification code is sent to another phone that may misuse my experian profile.All attempts by phone and mail have failed. They do not have an email to fix profile issues for credit files.I need to apply for a loan but am not able to until I can unfreeze my file. I have tried doing this by overnight mail service. It is also important for me to login to see my profile is not compromised.I have been struggling with this for over a week now. Please help.
