Paid for *** representation and filing services to be completed before 12/30/2024 and LegalZoom was unable to complete process. Spoke with ***** on the phone on 1/5/2025 to cancel the order but ***** was unable to refund money and suggested to dispute charge on credit card to obtain funds back. At this time, LegalZoom is holding my money and my order is cancelledBusiness response

I used LegalZoom to file my second DBA with the State of Ohio on November 28th, 2024. However, on November 29th, the State of Ohio rejected the filing. LegalZoom only informed me of this rejection on January 3rd, 2025, more than a month later, citing that the state did not approve the name I submitted and took over a month to inform me. They then asked me to provide new business names.Frustrated, I contacted the State of Ohio directly and discovered that the name I submitted was, and still is, available for use. The rejection was not due to a conflict with the name but because LegalZoom had filled out the form incorrectly meaning they lied about the reason for the rejection and the delay they placed blame on the State of Ohio was actually on their end.The Secretary of ************** clarified this error and provided instructions on how to correctly self-file the form, which I have since done. They also mentioned that issues like this are common with LegalZoom and LegalZoom shifts blame from themselves onto the state.I believe LegalZoom failed to provide the service I paid for by submitting incorrect paperwork, failing to communicate the rejection promptly, and then misleading me about the reason for the rejection. I am requesting a full refund for the service, as it was not carried out competently.Key Details:Date of Transaction: November 28, 2024 What Was Promised: Filing a DBA accurately and promptly with the State of Ohio Nature of the Dispute: LegalZoom's error in filling out the form caused a rejection by the state, followed by delayed communication and incorrect reasoning for the rejection delaying my business from doing business.Attempts to Resolve: I contacted LegalZoom multiple times to get information and was shuffled off to foreign workers not understanding my problem or was told it was the State of Ohio causing these problems. Self filed the form and hard to argue for a refund with LegalZoom.Business response

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY... YOU CAN EASILY FIND COMPARIBLE RESOURCES FREE OF CHARGE. ie: PDFFILLER, USLEGALFORMS ETC.Purchased trust bundle for a total loss of $400 after experiencing login issues time after time next thing months passed yet id made zero progress so requested a refund and was told there was no refund as the order was older than 60 days.BOTTOM LINE IS LEGAL ZOOM IS PERFECTLY OKAY WITH CUSTOMERS HAVING NOTHING TO SHOW AFTER INVESTING HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS!!!Business response

LegalZoom charged me for subscription services on business entities that were no longer in existence. They charge an annual fee for **************** services, which means they should have received notification that a business entity was dissolved or forfeited. But they continued to renew and charge for the services. When I tried to un-register and discontinue the subscription for their services they charged and renewed anyway.Business response

I utilized Legal Zoom to form an LLC for my business in 2018. Since than they have acted as my registered agent which they charge $299 per year for. I dissolved the business in 2020. Legal Zoom has continued to charge me every single year since then, despite the business no longer being active, and despite Legal Zoom performing no services. Most Recently on 12/27/24 Legal Zoom again charged my card on file for this service, and I immediately contacted them and advised them to cancel the charge for the upcoming year. They refused to cancel or reverse the charge and are now going to charge me another $299 and provide me with absolutely no service.Business response

I dissolved my LLC in Feb of 2024. I have the documents to prove it. Legal Zoom still auto charged my card 299 dollars. I provided them with proof of dissolution which is time and date stamped. They still refused to refund my money stating there is nothing they can do. How are they performing compliance for a dissolved company? The answer is theyre not. I want my 299 refunded. You cannot charge people for work youre not actually doing. Scam!Business response

I hired LegalZoom to form my ****** ******************************************* including obtaining the *** from the ***, filing state compliance forms, and writing the legal documents (articles of incorporation, etc.) to get the business off the ground. I explicitly paid for he ***************** for things to be completed within 1-2 days as I needed to get things done quickly & did not have the time to do it myself. This was on 12/12/24. It is now 12/23/24 & Legal Zoom still has not gotten the business setup. There is currently no *** & I am being told I need to submit the paperwork myself as they cannot do anything. The customer service email does not respond (I've sent multiple emails over the past 10 days). The customer service representatives run me around in circles telling me multiple different stories.Business response

I was using LegalZoom as my registered agent for my business in 2024. This business is no longer operating and has been dissolved. I was charged another year of registered agent fees by LegalZoom but will no longer be using their services. They refuse to provide a refund stating that the business was dissolved after the registered agent fee was charged therefore it is not eligible for refund. I will no be using the services for LegalZoom, yet they are refusing to refund my money. Business practices such as this should be prohibited. Though I understand there is nothing that can hold them accountable, I would just like it to be documented and known how they are operating.Business response

I tried to use them for incorporating a nonprofit. After my initial articles of incorporation on the state level were rejected and no movement to correct it for a month, I was ensured that the issue was theirs and it would be corrected again. Then a week or so it was rejected again. I brought up the intent to cancel and ask for a refund, then I was ensured it would taken care of. Now, they help chat has said that I am not eligible for a partial refund or any compensation if I cancel my order. I am dismayed that abject incompetence cannot be redressed.Business response
