The company is using deceptive practices to gather consumer information. Under the false pretense of a consumer loan, ******* proceeded to gather all my information. She told me it was for an unsecured loan. I specifically asked her if it was one of those debt resolution programs were they require me to default on all my payments for several months and crash my credit so they can settle my debt. She told me no, its nothing like that. Thats exactly what it was. I asked her what the minimum credit score was to qualify for a loan and she said it is based on each individual person. I asked what the minimum credit score was. She again told me, its based off of each individual person. Once she ran my credit she admitted, the minimum for a loan is a 680 credit score. I then called her on her deceptive practice and asked her why she wasnt upfront with me about that. At that point she hung up on me.Business Response

***************************** (********) BBB RESPONSE
Americor Funding, LLC (Americor) is in receipt of Mr. ******** complaint (#********). We appreciate the opportunity to respond to his concerns. By way of background, the customer contacted Credit9, LLC, the sister company of Americor, upon receiving a marketing mailer about a potential loan offer.
The agent gathered information from the complainant in an attempt to qualify him for a loan and to see what other options would be available to him if a loan was not available.Ultimately, ****************** did not qualify for a loan with Credit9, and he did not want to continue to review his options further with a network of several other lenders that *** have had differing requirements for qualification.
The complainant feels his time was wasted and that the agent failed to assume that he would have been aware of what his credit score was and advise him at the beginning of the call about the minimum credit score required by Credit9, so that he could decide himself whether to pursue the matter further. Although ****************** advises that he asked her what the minimum credit score was (to qualify for the loan), no such question was ever asked. Instead, ****************** asked to have the summary of options sent through a webpage, and the agent advised that the options emailed to him were based on him personally and, as a result, could not be placed publicly on a website. Had he asked, the information for Credit9 would have been provided, but the minimum credit score requirement information for the other network lenders would not have been known to the agent.
Ultimately, upon review of the transaction and of the recorded call, no deceptive practices as reported by ****************** were found.Customer Answer

This is simply not true. I asked specifically if any options were to default on payments until written off. I was told no. That was a lie and was deceptive.
i did not request an email. I was sent a link via email and she kept instructing me to click the link. I did ask what the minimum credit score was. She said she didnt know, and then later in the call after running me through the process told me exactly what the minimum score was.
she lied and was indeed deceptiveBusiness Response

CRUMMER (********) REBUTTAL
Americor Funding, LLC (Americor) is in receipt of Mr. ******** rebuttal with regard to our response to his complaint (#********). We appreciate the opportunity to respond to his concerns.
As provided in our initial response to Mr. ******** complaint, upon receipt of his Complaint, we thoroughly reviewed this matter.
We found no deceptive practices and again advise that had he asked for the minimum credit score required for a Credit 9 loan, he would have been so advised. He did ask multiple times whether the loan was to be secured or unsecured and was advised it was to be unsecured.
****************** seeks no further contact from the business and we will comply with that request. He has been added to our internal Do Not Contact list.Initial Complaint

I signed up with Americor after initially requesting a reconciliation loan on 4/1/2024. After signing up I did additional research and found this service wasnt the best option for me. On 4/3/2024, I filled out the notice of cancellation and emailed it. Per the contract it states, Withdrawal from the Program:A. Cancellation or Termination of this Agreement by You: You may withdraw from this debt resolution program at any time, without any penalty or other obligation, by providing AF with written notice, which may be electronic. Subject to our verification of your identity, we may, in our sole discretion, accept a verbal termination notice. AF will respond to any written request to cancel or terminate the program in a timely manner. If you have any concerns about the program, we recommend you first contact our ************************** at **************.(i) If you choose to withdraw from this program within five (5) days from the date of this transaction (Cancellation), all the funds in your Settlement Account will be refunded to you within five (5) days of our receipt of your written Cancellation request. Please see the enclosed Notice of Cancellation form for a detailed explanation of this right.. Im now getting calls and texts saying they will not withdraw me without verbal confirmation. It seems they are trying to get me to change my mind. There is no mention that its a requirement to put it in writing and confirm verbally in the contract. I have already had $1,200 drafted from my account and need confirmation that the contact is terminated and I will get my money returned as outlined in the contract. I cannot get them to do it in writing without talking to someone.Business Response

I became a Americor client in April 2021. I completed my payments in November 2023 to them and "graduated" from their program. I have been trying to resolve my credit report charge offs for the following three accounts on my own - Synchrony Paypal Credit Card, Synchrony Amazon Credit Card, and my Synchrony Paypal Credit/PPC account. I was told via email communication from Americor that these accounts were settled by them and I have paid a substantial amount to Americor to fulfill my obligation. I am no longer able to access my client portal to see exactly how much I paid but I did what I was supposed to do. I contacted each of these creditors individually who reported that my accounts were "charged off" and not settled. I was not able to get a letter to show that they were settled from the creditor either due to having outstanding amounts due. I feel that I have been deceived by Americor as they were supposed to help in this process. I have attached what documentation I have from them including the payment ledger that showed that I paid for these settlements. I am requesting that they obtain proof of settlement for these creditors, assist in updating my credit report to reflect that they were indeed settled instead of charged off, and get proof/documentation emailed to me for my records.Business Response

I was informed by the creditors that were not settled that I contacted on my own that there was never a settlement although I was charged a settlement fee by Americor. Americor tried to contact me to settle these accounts after the original BBB complaint and for me to become a customer again. I do not accept their resolution at this time because I have not been contacted by them to inform me what they are going to do. I paid them thousands of dollars to do their job that they did not complete.Business Response

12/15/2023 I submitted an email requesting money being withheld to cease. Negotiations were stalled because the company holding the debt was making internal changes. While nothing was happening to end my debt, the dedicated funds deducted from my bank continued to build. They did not withhold the monthly amount of $385.16 for one month upon my request while they researched. Then withholdings continued, and I sent more emails requesting they either cease withholding or end negotiation efforts and pay my debt off 100% since I believed the funds to complete my request were available in my dedicated account. I continued emailing that the funds being withheld cease, my debt would be paid off at 100% without negotiation, and the balance of my money would be returned to my bank account. I have signed a form to release information to the debt holder as of Feb 23, 2024. I have asked again that they cease withholdings since this is the status of my account: Debt account balance of $792.84 possible negotiation $240.0050%Pending Funds (which states that the funds are pending receipt of more money to offer the debt settlement.) My Dedicated Account Balance is showing as $1124.02, which does not reflect the 2/28/2024 payment of $385.16. I have been told they cannot stop the withholding. However, as mentioned above, they did just that one time previously when I asked.Business Response

I started with this company back in Dec. 30/2022 they took draft fee every time I deposited money for 6 months before paying anyone, they had to have a lot just to start settling!! But this the good part when they do they take that draft fee out right off then when they pay the creditor they hook it to you example They pay a creditor know this there going to just pay them $25 /24 months then they throw that processing settlement whatever it is and they charge you $44.50 know Im not some rocket science but I can do math there payment is twice as much my monthly payment. You will like this they settle with I company tell me ok we will settle for $927 there fee is $488.00 which I believe thats probably half I call that scamming you, they dont want to talk to me. Save your energy and most of or all your money, Could have taken care of these things only if you had your money, I believe thats stealing and that against the law,Business Response

Americor Funding, LLC (Americor) is in receipt of ************** complaint (#********). We appreciate the opportunity to respond to his concerns.
By way of background, the customer enrolled and executed a Debt Resolution Agreement with Americor on December 2, 2022. Six debts totaling $14,849.00 were enrolled in the program, with one account ultimately removed. The customer agreed to make deposits of $269.72 per month into a designated third party savings account for the purpose of accumulating funds to negotiate with the customers creditors. Four debts were negotiated by Americor. Two of the debts had been settled in full, with the remaining two in term settlements in progress before the customer canceled the program on January 29, 2024.
Regarding the customers desired resolution for an explanation of charges, such was clearly explained to her in an email from our ************************** to her on February 13, 2024 (attached). Such fees were discussed at enrollment as well as in Section 5 of the enrollment agreement. In addition, the draft fees she refers to in her complaint are third party savings account fees and are not paid to Americor. It must also be noted that the in term settlements negotiated on behalf of the customer are short term fixed payments and devoid of fees and/or accruing interest unlike if the customer would have continued making minimum monthly payments to existing creditors on the full balances, resulting in a significant benefit to the customer.
We hope this clears up any questions and/or concerns.Initial Complaint

I signed up for their program in hopes to be debt free. False information was given by their salesman to close the deal. My contracted amount to be pulled directly out of my checking account was $538. They pulled $545 with no reason why. Would not correct that issue. I canceled the program on 2/7/2024 because they didn't do anything they told me they would. I still have not been refunded my money. I've heard from them on the phone 3-5 business days, 5-7 business days, **** business days, an accumulative of ***** business days to get my money back. Nobody there can give me a straight answer. Then I was told 2/15/24 that Americor doesn't have my money, a third party has my money and I have to wait on them. I believe this company to be a scam.Business Response

I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. However I will never suggest anyone use this business because I had to demand the money back because of a mental situation with my daughter. After that is was no problem to get my money. They are not a debt consolidation company like the salesman told me. They're a debt settlement company.

I signed up for their services on 2/12/24. After sleeping on the idea, we decided we did not want their services and decided to cancel the contract on 2/13/24. As it was less than 24 hours since we had signed, the company had not provided any services to us and we have not yet issued any payment (I would like to note first payment would be due 2/22/24). Their contract reads You may cancel this transaction, without any penalty or obligation at any time To cancel this transaction, mail or deliver a signed and dated copy of this Cancellation Notice or any or any other written notice [to their address]. My spouse and I signed and dated the written Cancellation Notice they provided in the contract, mailed it to them, emailed it to them, and uploaded it to the member portal via their secure app. They acknowledged receipt of this document. However, they refused to cancel until I called to speak with a representative. Despite knowing I had fulfilled my obligations outlined in the contract to cancel, I attempted to call them. Multiple phone numbers provided by the company do not work. When I finally found a working number and connected with a person (who verified my identity via security questions and allegedly noted my intent to cancel in my file) the call disconnected when I was transferred to the cancellation department and I could not reach another person via telephone after several attempts. I just want confirmation from them the contract and all future transactions are CANCELLED. I do not want their services and they do not represent me or my spouse.Business Response

I initially signed up with Americor for debt consolidation. After I paid a few of my debts they transferred my loan to their own loan company ********. I recently paid ******** to complete my debt consolidation process of over $11,000. Americor still has their loan listed on my credit report. When I contacted them they said contact ********. When I contacted ******** they said because Americor reported it open they had to report it closed. I have disputed it with Transunion but they again referred me back to Americor. I contacted Americor AGAIN today 11/16/2024 and they AGAIN tried to refer me back to ********. They were supposed to help me improve my credit but are preventing that by refusing to close their loan that no longer exists. The two companies keep bouncing me back & forth without resolution.Business Response
