An account was made without my consent. I never received an invitation. The very first email I ever received from Nextdoor is to let me know I had an account. I have requested for my account to be deleted but it should not have been created in the first place. This is a horrible practice.Business Response

(I never registered this account in the first place -- it was made without my consent.) On July 30, I got an email that my account had been deleted.Nextdoor.com's response implies that my account had already been deleted when I made my complaint. I'd like them to acknowledge 1. that my account was made without my consent and 2. that they deleted my account only after I submitted a complaint to the BBB.

My Nextdoor local moderating team refused to provide explanation of temporary 14 days suspension of my account, and carried out a retaliation by doubling the original 14 days suspension to one month without any explanation. This disrespectful behavior reflects the likely corruptions within local moderating team. I am writing a formal complain to the corporate office and request a thorough internal evaluation of my case. As a longterm member of the app, I request an explanation of local moderator's initial interpretation of my responses as "disrespectful", and require an explanation on Nexdoor moderator's retaliatory behavior by doubling my 14 days original suspension to one month upon receiving my appealBusiness Response

Nexdoor ads has tried to bill my credit card since last year. I have called the company and after much confusion on their part offered no solution or information on why I was being billed. I had not received a charge from them in months and suddenly I have received numerous charges over the last few weeks. To get the charges to go through they change addresses, phone numbers, zip codes etc so the card is issued a charge. I have filed a fraud claim against the company with the credit card company and will be filing a criminal complaint with the local authorities in **.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I have already done this and was told they couldn't help me. I spent over an hour with them just trying to get through. They offered no help at all. the company is a scam with no way to stop them from billing my cc. I had called them in Nov. 2023 and I will not do it again. I have no account with this company. They stopped billing my cc and then suddenly I am getting billed again. I am turning this over to attorney general because it is clearly a fraud.

I am a Nextdoor app subscriber and have been for many years. I have also been the neighborhood HOA President for 10 years. I used the app when we had to verify the homeowners. In recent upgrades, Nextdoor removed the ability to see addresses of subscribers even for leads in the community. This functionality permitted and almost encouraged scammers and bad performers to use bogus and unverified accounts in neighborhoods to fraudulently peddle illegal services, request money and post unlicensed services. I have been dealing with a subscriber - ******************* - who lists a false address in our community as his place of residence so that he may posts requests to build illegal decks. His business is not licensed and in *******, the contracting licensing laws requires him to have a license to build decks. Not only is his work illegal but since he has no business address and is willing to lie about his place of residence it makes it that much more difficult to locate this man should someone really be hurt or fall victim to injury. We worked hard to build our community reputation and have requested over ten times to have Nextdoor remove him from our neighborhood. I, as HOA President have an active and up-to-date list of all owners, renters and such. I can provide an affidavit confirming he is not a resident and proof from the **** national address database that the address he has used is not an actual address. I am asking BBB to help us force Nextdoor to solve this issue and stop passing it over like it's no big deal. Since the monetization of Nextdoor began, our neighbors have regretted participating on the app. As a subscriber and a lead, the assistance we receive has taken a turn for the worst and leaves us without resolution far too often. I was hacked apparently on Next doors website and kicked off saying a registered *** offender used my account at a different address of *****************************************. Never lived there. I found out on my own I was blocked and not by Nextdoor. I would like my account info and date sent to me and a live no to talk to Nextdoor other than an email. They wanted me to send my drivers license or passport info through their email to verify that I wasn't the *** offender. I don't send my personal info on an email especially if I was hacked. I was suspended from next-door for the fourth time. I was told this time it was because of a comment that basically was stating that the moderators and the leads on this application are bullying and being rude and direct messages to many of us. I didnt name any names and I didnt say anything specific other than its problematic. Instead of dealing with the problem, there is no way to address moderators and leads that are very negative, threatened behind the scenes and have very divisive tactics. This application allows neighbors to moderate neighbors and if they dont agree with you, they will also suspend you. I am tired of this application playing with people trying to make complaints about the very same people that are suspending us. Because they dont like what we say or that were trying to address the issue of their behavior. They suspend us. I am going to do everything in my power to deal with these people and their power trips. Its ruined the application along with all of the stupid advertising.Business Response

We don't see an account based on the neighbor's email address, however, discussing moderation in the newsfeed is a violation of the guidelines.
Also, moderators can't suspended neighbors. Only Nextdoor support can.

Next-door allows panhandlers to ******* and harass users online. It is illegal to panhandle, and it is also illegal to promote careers that require schooling, such as home barbering, by claiming to have crossed the border without a license to practice cosmetology. This poses a health and safety risk. In *******, it is illegal to run a business without proper documentation. If you report it, they don't take action, but if you use the word God or *****, or share a bible quotation or a picture of *****, they will remove it and give you a warning. However, they allow people to engage in unlawful activities, and when reported they tell you nothing was wrong,But mention God and it will be reported and blocked, If you comment anything to someone even something as simple as have faith god is with you they will give you a warning.Business Response
