On 6/4/21 we purchased a steel building with GWB. We wired $28,531.74 deposit on that date. They began telling us completion dates would be December 2021. 1st promise did not happen. 2nd promise date March 2022 did not happen. 3rd promise October 2022 did not happen. I emailed *********************** on 9-8-22 the owner of the business. He promised we were in the fabrication queue for November. Shortly after that he quit emailing or taking my calls. ****************** is missing in action. Ghosting me. 5th promise comes from *********************** end of December 2022. Told that will not happen because they put a big project in the queue. I receive a call today from an ******* telling me we are into January 2023. I'm sure January 2023 will come and go and no building. I have been more than understanding. I get an email on December 1, 2022, from them to pay the remainder of the building $ *********. I told ******* would not give them another dime until our building is on a *********** see it with my own eyes. GWB/****************** has had our money for 1 year and 6 months. They have used our money interest free and maybe put it in their pockets. If we ever receive our building, I am concerned with any structural issues they too will be ignored. This has been a stressful experience and we never imagined the difficulties it would be to purchase a steel building. We would not refer or recommend this Company to anyone. My husband was handling this, and he just lost patience. I took over with documentation, emails, phone calls. Maybe ****************** ignored me because I am a woman. Great West Buiildings has broken their contract in so many ways.Business response

****************,
Your building is currently in fabrication, and we will not require final payment until it is delivered to your jobsite. Once you give the delivery driver certified funds for the balance owed, you be able to offload the building. That way you can inspect the load before accepting delivery. *************** our logistics coordinator will be in touch shortly to arrange the delivery day so you can prepare. Unfortunately, all our customers have experienced delays because of ongoing and changing supply chain issues, so we cannot offer a discount.

I ordered a 30 x 40 building from Great Western Buildings and gave a $11,700 depostit on 10/2021. Ive been passed around to several different project managers. The first ones would not return calls or emails, and when I could get in touch with them, kept pushing back delivery date of the building. The stamped drawings were released in April 2022 and in an email was told Currently, we're looking at Late Spring/Early Summer for all dedicated and consolidated freight options. . Thats late spring/early summer 2022! The dates have been pushed back several times since. At one point, the project manager put my project on hold without my knowledge. The last time I called they said May 2023. Now they are saying summer 2023. They keep kicking the can down the road and will not give a firm date. I needed this building this winter to house my working dogs, and have had to go to great troubles to find alternatives. *** asked for my deposit back so I can find a company that will deliver on their promises, but they say my deposit is non-refundable. Im exploring legal actions, but would much prefer if the company could resolve this and give me a delivery date within the next couple of months.Business response

In brief: On Jan 25 of this year I ordered a steel building from Great Western Buildings Systems (GWB) and agreed to a price of $60,360. I paid a requested down payment of $21,126. A delivery date of Aug, ******************************************************** writing.Beginning in July 2022, I began calling as no updates were forthcoming from GWB. As August came and went I kept contacting them about delivery and was finally told delivery would be in Nov/Dec 2022 time frame..On Nov 1 I got engineering drawings in an email....which should have been delivered in March 2022. In that email I was informed that delivery would be "Summer 2023". Unacceptable given our previous delays and the agreed to initial delivery date.On Nov 9...I cancelled my order.no response On Nov 22 I cancelled my order again.Nov 30 2022 got a call from ************************* at Great Western *************) offering me a building in Jan 2023 as they 'had a truck coming to *********'Nothing in writing.no a delivery date. I told him no, I want the refund. On Dec 12 I got an unsigned email from GWB titled General Release and Waiver. In it, they sent me an electronic form holding themselves harmless and with language that they would simply keep my deposit, $21,126.I want a full refund as it is the contractor who has broken their contract by not delivering their product as promised; nor have they been proactive with delivery schedule through this entire process. I've been simply hung out to dry.I'm not wealthy and simply want my money returned in full.Business response

*************,
Your building has been designed, engineered, and detailed. We have attempted to schedule delivery but you refused - you are not entitled to a refund. As you are aware, there have been significant delays that affected all our customers because of supply chain issues. We have been working hard to navigate the supply chain challenges, and continue to deliver buildings. We are happy to schedule your delivery if you change your mind. Please let us know.
Sincerely,

I ordered my building and paid my down payment on 7/31/2021. At this time i was told by my project manager that i was looking at early spring delivery and that he thought he might even be able to do a little earlier. I recived my erection drawings on 10/13/2021 and was told that was going to be late spring/early summer 2022 delivery. After multiple phone calls and no response i was sent an email 3/21/22 that said they were waiting on equipment for their factory and that it would operating on 4/2022. once it was operating the email said "the floodgates will open" and they could give me an accurate timeline for my project.4/13/2022 i was told that i was not scheduled yet but i was further ahead than they thought and that they were producing buildings. 5/13/22 i was told that i was just waiting for the scheduler to pair me up with another building for delivery and that i would have a date soon. Didnt hear anything back until 7/6/2022 and i was told that i was going to be scheduled for september 2022 delivery but i didnt have a exact day yet. On 7/13 i recived an email saying that they were going to be sending weekly updates and that their lead times for new customer ***** weeks after the engineered drawings were complete which is was a lie. I then received a call 9/2022 from someone that i have have never talked to and they told me that he could not give me a date on when to expect delivery but he thought it would be the first quarter of 2023 but could not guarantee that. I then asked for my money back and they refused which i expected. After multiple phone calls over a 3 week period i received a call 12/6 from my project manager say that i have a delivery date of 6/5/2023. When i voiced my concern that i was never going to get a building and that their sales people were telling new customers when they called that they would get a building early summer of 2023 and that they were lying to people he didnt really have much to say. He just passed me off to someone else.Business response

I put a deposit of $20000 on a 60x80 steel building in July of 2021. I was told that it would be done February of 2022, then early spring of 2022, then mid summer, then early fall, then spring of 2023, and then i was told it would for sure be *** of 2023. When that didn't happen, i was told it would for sure be here in june. Now it is *** 30, 2023 and they are telling me it will be the end of july and they will call me at the end of june. I have spoke at least 5 other customers that this has happened to. They treat everyone terrible. I ordered this almost two years ago. I don't know how any company can be this bad and scam this *** people. I have seen several people in this situation on bbb and all the company has to do is say they plan on giving you a building and that resolves the complaint. These people will just keep giving you a date that they have no plan on delivering just to get you to leave them alone for another month.Business response

On 9/30/2019 and 11/25/2019 we entered into 2 contracts for steel buildings. After MANY setbacks with project managers and engineers on 8/3/2021 we finally received final stamped prints. Around April of 2022 we were told via a phone call from someone that we were in the cue for delivery looking at early to late summer. Next contact was in July, from our project manager. We were told that new orders were taking priority and that we would have steel on the ground in October. Next its the end of August and we are contacted again saying to expect steel in November. End of October we get another call, expect steel on the ground in December. Nov 29, we were told it would be February of 2023, that makes 3 years and 3 months. Now they will not answer our calls. It is clear what is happening, we had our prices locked in September of 2019, then COVID hit and steel prices went through the roof. They are not happy to give us our product and take the loss. $ 7497.9/2019 deposit for house engineering, $7411.6 11/2019 deposit for garage engineering, $10893.765/2021 extra deposit for ******* roofs and pad engineering $25,807.36 Total deposits paid to dateBusiness response

We originally ordered and placed a considerable down payment on a steel building with this company in April 2022. We have had very little communication from them. We initiate all. We are then told delivery is moved back and given all kinds of platitudes and promises, then more silence. Our delivery time has moved several times. After more silence we initiate communication again, and it all starts over. More delay, more excuses, more promises and then more silence. We have been passed off to four different personell along the way, and are now facing the potential loss of tremendous financial loss due to yet another broken promise.Business response

I signed a contract for a 80'x76' steel building January 31, 2022. At that time Delivery was estimated to be Summer 2022. I paid $15,000 Engineering Deposit on 1/31/2022. I paid Manufacturing Deposit $14,890 on 4/5/2022. Delivery was estimated to be Late Summer. on 4/12/2022 I paid *** $1,850 to do foundation engineering. Status updates has be very sparse from Project manager. I have gotten a series of reasons it has been taking longer. In September I was told by the Project Manager's supervisor that it would be December 2022. Today the Project Manager asked me if Scheduling the building for manufacturing May 2023 is OK. It not OK. This company was great to work with until that had my money. Be warned.Business response

I hope this helps other families to find an alternate route if your wanting to go with a metal building supplier. Please please read the contract. You will not get your deposit back. Even if your building wasnt in manufacturing. In March of 22 we place our deposit for a 30x40x16 through GWB. GWBs process was very clean and their drawings and proposals make it seem like they have everything together. However, after our deposit we realized a lot was smoke and mirrors. We were assigned multiple project managers on a short period of time. Neither were the best at communication. Also, they will call before sending to engineering and upscale you on straight columns and multiple other options and this will all be an additional cost. They send automated updates that are supposed to tell you dates for your project however they are never correct due to manufacturing issues. No matter what you say or bring to the table they will repeat this over and over again. In the end they arent interested in delivering you a building. They are interested in your money. If they cared for the customer as much as they say they would refund deposits for projects that cant meet deadlines. We had to back out due to our construction loan. In the beginning we were told June/July and it seemed like every time we talked to GWB it was pushed another month. Finally we were told December. Which would of given me 3 months to finish the interior before our interest rates would change. again GWB doesnt care all they will tell you is they want to deliver your building. They dont care what you have to say even if your telling them that timeline doesnt work. Upon asking for my deposit back I was given to the ** and told he would take care of me. 20 calls and ****************************************************** the contract stating the deposit is non refundable and they arent liable for delays. So there is no accountability holding them in check. I pray the company begins deposit refund soon.Business response

**************,
Thank-you for reaching out. As you stated in your complaint, you are not entitled to a refund - significant work and expenses have been incurred on your behalf. Unfortunately we suffered significant delays that were beyond our control, and we are working hard to get all our customers their buildings as quickly as possible. We would still like to supply you with your building, or a new design if you prefer. If you wish, you may transfer the contract.
We are also willing to waive any cancellation fees, if you would prefer to cancel the order.

In February of 2021 we began shopping for a metal building. After contacting GWB they pushed us for a deposit to lock in the price of our project in order to secure our spot and price. We put in a deposit with GWB and on April 27, 2021 was assigned a case manager ************** shortly thereafter. Expected delivery date was August of 2021. GWB informed us that the August deadline was not going to be met due to Covid disruptions and supply chain issues. We understood, told them to keep us updated. Throughout 2021 we were told that a delivery date would be "soon", usually pushed back 1-2 months from September, October, Nov, etc.January 2022 GWB informed us that they were waiting for a pull through welder and that the "flood gates" on fulfilling back orders would be coming. We were slotted for a spring completion time. After talking with ************************* on May 27th, of 2022 he assured us that a September delivery time would be guaranteed. In August we were told that a Nov. delivery time was now scheduled. Today, Nov. 2 we were told that our project was not scheduled for fabrication and that they were going to schedule our fabrication in April of 2023, 2 years after putting the deposit. They also said that if we wanted to "prioritized" that we could pay an updated materials cost otherwise our project would be scheduled whenever prices came down. When asked about cancelling the project and receiving the deposit back GWB stated that it was nonrefundable. We have been extremely sympathetic to the market disruptions brought on by Covid but after 2 years of delays and push backs I no longer believe that GWB is suffering from the same disruptions that had been an issue in 2021, as evidenced by their social media with other projects being completed as well as on the BBB site with resolutions being resolved. I cannot recommend doing business with an entity that does not honor the terms of the agreement nor one that tries to extract more money after 2 years in limbo.Business response
