Our fourth house to build in a different state. The most expensive with the worst finishes/work done. We had to deal with shoddy, cheap wood working. The cabinet place they contracted with had the worst customer service ever. They had NO idea how to put stairs in, almost everything was a fight to get it right. SMALL outside paint samples leaving us with a trim color we hate. Cheap paint running down the rock outside the house.Just when we thought we were almost done, they put landscape in the front, if you want to call it that. NO information on plants, only one is tagged. It is planted less than 2 feet from another and it gets 12 feet tall and 10 feet wide. NO information on irrigation or zones or how much to water. We asked for help, they said no. I so wish we had not built this house.DO NOT build with Century. Oh, and CHEAP lights. They will be quick to tell you they are not building you a custom home but at any price, it should be a nice home. They are wonderful until you sign off and they know they have your money. HATE them.

I cannot stress this enough, do NOT work with this company. If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. I got under contract On February 7th, for a home in **********, **. At the time, there were multiple lots available for me to choose from. On March 1st, I was given written notification that the excavation had begun and floorboards were being laid to pour the foundation. I continued to receive building updates. Then, on April 27th, I noticed that the plumbing stubbed out in the foundation didn't make sense for the floor plan I was under contract for. I emailed photos to my sales rep only for her to call me five days later to tell me the original floor plan was not approved by the municipalities and so they had begun to build a 2nd-story floor plan as that was the only option left, all without notifying me. After being under contract for nearly 3 months, she proceeded to tell me in a five-minute phone conversation that I either needed to signed a "mutual" cancelation form or sign a new purchase agreement for a home that had a significantly higher purchase price than what I was under contract for. After refusing to do either of these as they did not seem like appropriate options, they sent me the cancelation paperwork and would not return my phone calls, emails, and refused to negotiate or help me understand what caused this massive issue. They tried to tell me they didn't know but how is that possible considering you know what the floorplan is when you do the foundation... which was done beginning of March. Incredibly unprofessional and insanely inappropriate business ethics. Would never work with them again.

I should have paid attention to all the bad reviews! I would give a negative star if I could.I tried to build a home with them. They required a $7500 ******* money, they made me sell my current home without a closing date from them, then they have delays with supplies esp cabinets that they did not tell me before I was asked to sell my home. The contract reads with contingency, I must sell my home within 30 days of entering purchase contract with them (if I dont, they cancel the sale and keep my $7500), they are not responsible for any inconveniences, costs to me when they have delays, and they can delay up to 2 yrs, plus they can keep your ******* money of $7500 if buyer cancels sale. Read ur contract carefully! Dont fall for the fake sincerity and kindness. I lockdown my rate for $7k (added to closing cost) with their inspire loan, but they will delay until the rate expires, and an extension is another $2k upfront non refundable. The reviews on their customer service throughout the homes lifetime and warranty are quite poor as well. Check all the horrible reviews on better business bureau and check all the horrible reviews ex-employees gave them on indeed. This is a very poor company and your dream home will be a nightmare if you buy from them. I cancelled my purchase. They sent me cancel documents to officially terminate the sale with a statement saying they retain the $7500. I refuse to have any more problems.I got out and it was a blessing! So much headache and I havent even moved in yet. They will give you all the red signals to run the other way. Trust your gut instinct and RUN!!! Stick to the well known reputable companies in *****. I am not a new home owner and this was the worst home buying experience, service, and communication I've ever experienced. Avoid a whole house lifetime of a nightmare!! The nightmare won't end if you buy from them!!

I'm not sure what I can and cannot say here but the home I bid and won on with century communities was a big waste of time for myself and my real estate agent. We literally sat by our computers waiting for their bid to open a xoupel weeks and finally the 3rd try I happen to "get bid" and approved on the house to be built. We'll, after a few weeks of down payments, signing papers, etc between myself and this company and the greatest help from my realtor, the company would not let me go through an outside lender. They (century communities) wanted me to go through their lender. Nope, they said for outside lender that had already approved me for the full purchase of the house. My realtor went up the chain to go outside their recommended lender and given a flat no.So frustrating and waiste of time ! So make sure you review carefully and have a job In the state as well which was also a huge ordeal !

PLEASE DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY.We went under contract in 12/2021 when interest rates were decent. We were given an anticipated close date of 3/2022. We worked with their lender at their recommendation who immediately qualified us for the home. Due to supply chain delays our closing was moved to the end of May. As we know this market is insane right now and from 12/21-5/22 interest rates have spiked dramatically. When it was time to lock in we no longer qualified for the home with their lender since the interest rates went up over 2%. This was completely out of our control but Century refused to return our ******* money. They are now listing the home we were building for **** more than what we went under contract for so they are not out a dime but my poor family is out our ******* money. It could have been a simply cancellation of contract but the refused. They have no heart and care only about their profit. Save yourself the heartache. Find another builder.
