I emailed the company about them not answering the phone and letting it ring numerous times. When I went to the business, I could hear the phone ringing and no one was answering it. Another customer remarked how she could not get her call answered earlier that day. There was no response from the company. I went to the shop to get a new tire and was told to drop the tire off, and they would mount it, then I could come back and have it put on the car and I was told it would save time. I went a week later and my tire could not be found because it was not done yet. They started to do it and I asked them to stop. Brian, the manager was rude and unprofessional and was mad that I asked different staff members for help. Another employee took my tire and threw it and it bounced on the floor. He was unprofessional and what he did was dangerous. He was angry because I changed my mind. He continued to be rude and said that I did not need my receipt and that there was none when I asked for one from the refund. Then he gave me the receipt. He was unbelievably angry and his hands were shaking. I also reported this but had no response. They also post work orders that have name, address, and phone numbers for the public to see.Business Response

On July 26 2023 I went to replaced or purchased a brand new tire for my 2003 ****** **** at town fair service station in *********** ***** ** in ******** and while the service person was doing an alignment in the area of the suspension in the rear of the car, the services man broke a bolt, after reporting I told them that due their failure and not taking the appropriate precautions and without my authorization they needed to pay for the repair of my car which amounted to over $ 320.00 plus and they refused and only paid for the broken bolt but the total of repairing the damaged is going to cost me over three hundreds twenty dollars plus. I’m ready to look for a legal remedy if they don’t cover the cost to repairs my car.Business Response

8/9/23 Went to town fair tire in **** ********. I needed a new tire. I was told 157.00 out the door. I then proceeded to wait 3 hours for 1 tire to be changed. People were coming in and leaving as i sat there. I asked employee if these other people had appointments and was told no. Finally my car was brought out at 430 and parked in front. Nobody to be found for me to pay. Waiting waiting another 20 min. A worker came out, said he would check me out, said 297.00. I was stunned. I said hell no i was quoted 157.00 Had to look for the guy who orginally gave me the price. I will never ever step foot in a town fair tire store in my life. I will tell everyone i know what an awful experience i had. This shop i feel was really below par, time wise and price wise. Awful experience.Business Response

We sincerely apologize for the price discrepancy, confusion and inconvenience Mr ******** expericenced at the store. This the first this office is hearing of this issue. The associate at the store should have throughly gone over the invoice and any options there were for Mr. ********. Looking at the invoice the total for the tire installed was $158.67. The additional charges were for the alignmnet and road hazard. Again this should have been explained in store and the assoictae should have made sure what Mr. ******** wanted. We will be sure to address this with the store. At this point we will gladly refund the difference since the charges were not properly explained. we will send a check for the difference to the address provided to the BBB.

On july 29th I went to TFT in ********** ** for a tire repair which I had to get fixed a few times since purchase when I made my appointment I knew it would be an issue as the person on the phone was rude as if he was personally paying for my fixture. I arrive to the place all was well until the upselling started I just wanted my tire fixed the asst mgr comes over says we can't fix it go somewhere and pay to get it fixed I said I have coverage so since it can't be fixed I can receive a new tire he tried to make me pay for a difference which no where in the policy it says that than tried to make the difference in sale I know several people who have worked for the company. After the back and fourth I get my tire now here's the issue the low pressure alert never went away what a coincidence that same day as I'm driving to a family gathering with my children in the car one of the two tires they tried to have me replace went flat in the middle of the highway causing a more stressful and hazardous night for my family. I was made to feel like I was wrong for wanting the service I paid for. I know if I return to get my new tire I'm entitled to since the repairs can't be done since it's in the sidewall they'll give me hell if I walk in the will say they can't also if you try to schedule a tire repair the system pushed you further vs putting a tire installation because they are not making sales for the tire repair. The company is so unethical. My expectation is the replace both my front tires free of charge due to the inconvenience and unethical upselling and sales tactic. And have my tire rotated when I would visit the original location they wouldn't do my rotations and it was too much hassled to get back in these tires are two years old with minimal mileageBusiness Response

We sincerely apologize for the issue Ms. **** had with the tire and the store. Ms. **** had emailed us the same time she filed with the BBB. We responded to her and explained our policy regarding the road hazard that once the tire is worn out the life of the tire is over. The tire would then would be covered by the road hazard if applicable or warranted based on maintenance. I then offered to cover the tire under the road hazard anyway and cover the tire itself 100% per her warranty coverage as a one time courtesy. The only cost to Ms. **** would be t he balance and and valve or TPMS service if she wanted that. There would also be a charge for the warranty on the new trire if she wanted to cover it. We have yet to hear back. We can take care of the coverage for her in any of our stores. please have her contcat me at ###-###-#### or ******************* to arrnage an appointment.

I purchased 4 *********** tires (225/50R17W run flat) from Town Fair Tire on *** *** ******* **** **** ********* ** ***** ###-###-#### om 9/30/2022 for $1148.00. I also purchased the Road Hazard Warranty on the same date. There were 68,750 miles on my car at that time. On 7/15/2023 one of the tires was flat. I brought the car to Town Fair as was told that due to the all wheel drive in my car and the fact that the tores were discontinued and I could not order one tire all four tires would need to be replaced. Town Fair Tire said they would contact *********** for a proration and discount on the new tires. I feel that the proration was not sufficient for the amount of wear I had on the tires (8,017 miles) and felt that the tire that was damaged should have been covered by the road hazard guarantee and I would receive a new tire at no charge. The four new tires cost $1064 plus tax of $70. My cost after proration was $625. I have contacted *********** support and filed a claim as well as left multiple phone messages with no response. I have also contacted Town fair support and filed a claim and left messages for a support employee also with no response. I have also been checking on the tire discontinuation and it may be that the tires were sold to me after they were discontinued by ***********. Thank you for your help on this problemBusiness Response

To Whom It May Concern;
We sincerely apologize for the issue Mr ******** had with his tires and the confusion on the warranty.This is the first this office is hearing of this issue. The road hazard Mr. ******** has is a 36 month pro rated road hazard. This is stated on his invoice. The warranty covers the tires for the 36 month period pro rated based on time. For example if the tires are 12 momths old you would get a 66% credit on the tire towards a new one. This is not the lifetime coverage. Normally in a situation like this we would use the next best comparable tire. However since the vehice is all wheel drive you cannot mix tires. These situations are terrible. Neither the manufacturer nor the warranty will cover more than the damaged tire in a road hazard scenario. However we will nornmally offer a courtesy pro rate on the remaining tires as a courtesy to help shoulder some of the cost. In this case the only credit technically due was the 75% through the road hazard which was $199.16. The store did give a courtesy 80% credit on 2 of the tires in the amount of $422.22. However they should have pro rated all 3 tires this would have given Mr. ******** an additional $211.11 in credit. We will also refund him for the road hazard on the 3 good tires as an additional courtesy. This would give him a total refund of $285.85. We will mail this refund to address provided by the BBB.Sincerely,
Rich A****

I left my 2017 ****** ******* by appointment on 7/13/23 at Town Fair Tire, *** ******* *** ******* **, to have the tires balanced because I felt vibration when driving over 50mph on highway. I expected this to be a routine repair. When I pick up the car a little after 5 p.m. on Thursday 7/13/23 I paid $119.00 and I was handed a lug nut with the receipt and told "Your car is all set. They stripped one lug nut when they did it. This happens. You car is fine.." The lug nut he handed me was the stripped one! This man was incredibly rude, did not look up at me, acted as if he did not have time for me, although no one else was there. I asked him to clarify - "so my car is missing a lug nut?" He said, "yeah, it's no big deal. You are all set." and looked away again. I said, "the car is okay to drive?" He said again, "it's fine. If it bothers you that much you can go to ******** and get a replacement." This man was so rude I left and went to **** ****, I have since learned that the car is in fact not "fine" to drive around indefinitely with a missing lug nut. There was clearly no concern for me or my family. When we tried to replace the lug nut with a new one that evening, we discovered the stud itself on the wheel had also been completely stripped. (photo attached) I'm grateful that my auto mechanic was willing to fix that the next day at the cost of $131.73. He was disgusted with what he called "unskilled" labor that doesn't thread the lug nut by hand before using the air gun. I did not go straight back to Town Fair Tire because both customer service and the labor are so bad. I am submitting copies of the cost of the replacement lug nut and the cost of the stud repair. ($131.73 + 5.09 = $136.82) This was honestly a TERRIBLE experience and I hope this complaint results in some corrective action so that this doesn't happen to someone else.Business Response

We sincerely apologize for the issue Ms.******** had with the store and her inconvenience. This is the first we are hearing of this issue. Our policy is that if there is an issue taking the lugs off the customer should be notified right away and informed of what can happen. At that point we would ask if they would like to continue and would not take responsibility for the damage. However since this procedure was not done we will gladly cover the repair. We will mail the refund requested to the address provided to the BBB.

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.Comments to this "resolution" : The only thing I find satisfactory about this response is the agreement to pay for the repair.
I'm very disappointed in the "reply" however and want to document why -
#1 there is no acknowledgement or apology for the utterly unprofessional and rude behavior I received at this business. This sadly seems like there will be no action taken to assure others aren't treated the same. I'm 65 years old and have never reached out to BBB with a complaint before. It was that bad.
#2 It is utterly ridiculous to imply that this happened when they were removing the lug nut. This happened as they were putting it back on. Even the jerk that gave me back the stripped lug nut told me that! And as my much more professional mechanic explained, "this happens when an unskilled person fails to thread it by hand before using the air gun and it wasn't aligned properly."
So no apology and once again Town Fair Tire treating me like I'm an idiot. My recourse now will be in my online reviews.
Thanks, BBB, for helping me get at least the repair reimbursed.
Sincerely,
****** ********Initial Complaint

Hello, my name is ****** ****, **** ********* **. In August of 2022, I purchased four new tires from Town Fair Tire, *** **** ******* **** ******** for my daughter’s 2007 ***** *****, which they also installed. She does a lot of highway driving for work, from **** ******** to *********** **. On June 23, 2023, I was riding in her back seat and could hear scrubbing in the back of the vehicle. When we returned home, I looked at the tires and brakes and noticed the brake pads and rotors were grossly worn. The next day I took the vehicle in for a brake inspection. I had to replace all four rotors and pads. While there the mechanic informed me that the wrong size tires had been installed and the inside of my tires were completely shot and that I should not drive the vehicle other than to Town Fair Tire right away. He also told me that because the tire was pushing the strut plate forward while driving back and forth to **********, the rear hub bearings were damaged badly and needed to be replaced immediately. The tires installed by Town Fair Tire were too large for the vehicle causing the inside of the tires to scrub against the rear strut support plate. As a result, the inside of the tires were worn down to very dangerous levels. About 1" of the inner tires were completely worn and the rear struts were damaged from excessive scrubbing while driving. I believe the negligence by Town Fair Tire’s technicians in not inspecting their work was responsible for this error that could have caused a major accident injuring my daughter and possibly other drivers. Should Town Fair Tire reimburse the nearly $2,000 in cost of the repairs we had to make because of their negligence?Business Response

On Thursday June 1 I went to the Town Fair Tire on ******** ****** in ******* ** for a simple tire rotation. I waited an hour and was informed my car was ready. When I got to my vehicle I found that the tires had not been rotated properly. I know this because the front tires were more worn, and they were still on the front. I spoke with the service advisor about this and this was news to him. But he spoke with the tech who admitted that he didn't rotate them as was requested. The service advisor apologized and said he could have it resolved, but I had already been there for an hour and couldn't stay longer. I was informed that I could return on a later date and they would fit me in to make it right. At this point I have no faith in this stores ability to perform services on my vehicle. I was lied to and an hour of my time was wasted. This is unacceptable.Business Response

The front left wheel on my 2009 was damaged during the repair of a slow leak in that tire late the afternoon of April 20, 2023 at the ******** ** Town Fair Tire. I discovered the damage when I returned home from the business and took a photo. Early the next morning on April 21, 2023 I went by the place of business and reported the damage. I was told the damaged wheel would be replaced. Subsequent multiple visits/calls per week to the business location reported no progress on the replacement wheel. On May 19, 2023, I spoke with Luis, the purported head of that location. He told me I needed to call Richard A**** the head of of customer service. I did that and Mr. A**** agreed to replace the wheel at no cost to me. No wheel arrived. Luis reordered the wheel. On Friday, May 2, 2023, I was told by Luis I needed to speak to Mr. A**** again. I called immediately and left a message. I called again on Monday, May 2, 2023. Mr. A**** said he did not recall me mentioning the left front wheel, adding he gets a hundred calls a day. He agreed anew to replace the wheel which was now in inventory if Luis confirmed that the stem was new. At the location, Luis refused to inspect the wheel. He then claimed to speak with Mr. A**** and offered he would replace the wheel (total cost $800 to $1,000) if I would pay half. Even if I would have been open to such an offer after they dealt with me in bad faith on two prior occasions and did not honor their verbal contract, I was not open to further entreaties. It is now a month and one-half with this situation unresolved with bad faith involved on the part of the business.Business Response

To Whom It May Concern;
We sincerely apologize for the issue Mr ***** is having with his wheel. As Mr Krause stated we have no record of us working on the left front wheel in question. However I did agree that if the valve stem was new as Mr ***** had claimed, I would replace the wheel. I spoke with the store while Mr. ***** was there and was told by the associate that the valve stem was not new. With that said I told the store to offer to cover half of the wheel as a courtesy. At this point in the interest of resolving this issue amicably we will replace the left front wheel for him at no charge. Please have Mr ***** contact me at ###-###-#### to set an appointment to go in and have the wheel replaced.
