      I have a condo policy through assurant (sold by *****). I had a claim filed on 01/06/2023 for water damage where pinhole in pipe caused my flooring to get damage. My construction company gave estimate (with ietl report and details etc.) of $****** which was submitted to insurance company. First the insurance company said that its a condo , the hoa needs to take care. Then my hoa manager said its inside my condo , so that is homeowners policy so assurant agreed and said to take pictures and resubmit the pictures. I did again , and they came back that they will pay only $**** which is insanely low and a bad faith estimate. The adjustor hung up , his supervisor never retruns call and dont pick up phone. There is literally no one to talk to regarding this. My next step , im looking to file a lawsuit against them. Already reported on insurance.ca.gov . But they are just ignoring my case , me and not returning any calls or looking at claim. They dont even called the construction company to talk about the estimate. My case was esclated by customer service at assurant and no body got back to me.

      Good day! I have called Assurant multiple times about my Audio receiver. The last 2 times that I have asked a for a manager, I have been told to hold on, and obviously once they explain to their manager what is going on, they don't want to talk to me, so the rep come back and say, lololol....Due to the high call volume no one can talk to you except I am the high call volume. I have said, please take my info and have someone call me and been told no. They will not put me in a cue to talk w/ a manager. I am basically being told sorry and get lost. My receiver was taken for repair before the holiday, so, our annual gathering was re-located. The unit was returned as "repaired" and still didn't work. I called the Manufacturer and they confirmed problems w/ the unit. I asked assurant agent about a replacement. I was told the until the repair people say they can't fix it, they can't credit the unit, except they had it for weeks and didn't fix it over the holiday. To date, tomorrow is the super bowl and AGAIN, I am w/o equipment that I payed for and insured to be repaired in a "Timely Manner" The customer service of Assurant and Common Ground is Bad. Why should I have to call for updates on something that you have of mine and from Assurant, a company that I paid to make to make "this" process simple and NOT like this. PLEASE HELP... incident number ********

      I purchased a new refrigerator from Lowes 5/26/21. Frigidaire side by side model #********** serial #********** for $**** with a $*** in store discount, along with a 5 year protection plan, item #****** for $******. Refrigerator began freezing groceries on top 3 shelves and in door 2/2022 and at this time around 2/11/22 a repair company was sent out. repairs were completed and everything worked fine until the problem started again in october 2022. ********** repairs was sent 10/29/22 and again 11/2/22. The problem was still not solved and my refrigerator froze groceries again in december . I went into the store to see if they could give me some advice but again i was given a repair date and this time ******** repairs was the company . I had an appointment scheduled for 12/23/22 and I was called and the date was changed to 12/30/22. On 12/28 ******** called me and rescheduled again for 1/6/23. I went then entire Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays with no refrigerator. I have 2 small children and a partially vegetarian household, it's very difficult not having a place to store my fresh foods. On 1/6/23 parts were ordered and installed 1/13/23. the refrigerator worked fine for a little over a week and now is freezing again. Today I spoke with a supervisor who has scheduled yet another appointment back with ********** for another repair. I lost all my groceries 2/22 because I could not provide receipts as I don't not save them. In November I had to threaten to report Assurant and they allowed me to replace food and provide those receipts totaling $******. After submitting them and receiving an email that they were received, today the supervisor told me they never received them so I resubmitted them. At this point after having the refrigerator repaired 4 times already, I believe it's time this company honor my request for a new refrigerator.

      On September 13, 2022 I filed a claim with mytmoclaim for a broken device. I paid the $** deductible. They sent an email with all of the instructions to return the broken device with the tracking information. My husband and I put the broken device in the envelope and took it to the UPS store. I called 2 times to make sure everything was good. The company stated they received the package it just had not been processed yet and I was good to go. No communication after that. In December I get my phone bill and it says we owe $***. I call right away and was told Assurant just didn't process the package and the package was there. They would take the $*** charge off but it could take a couple months. I paid my regular bill of ***. Now, 2/6 my phone lines have been shut off and they are saying the package was empty. I spent 8 hours on a messaging conversation with T-mobile. I was told if I paid $*** for my bill they would turn my service back on so I could call Assurant. That did not happen. T-mobile then called me and transferred me to Assurant where I was hung up on, transferred to USPS multiple times then hung up on, and they are still claiming the package is empty and we owe them money. Please let me know if you need more information from me.

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is partially satisfactory to me.  I am relieved that I am being reimbursed, however I still have an issue with being told my package had been received and was in the warehouse. They told me not to worry and that the charges would be taken off.  Then, 2 months later, when my phone gets shut off, then they tell me the packaging was opened and no phone was in there? Why was that not addressed when I called the 2nd time and they told me they had received the package? It seems like a scam to me. I hope someone digs deeper into this issue being that I am not the only one, according to your complaints, that have been through this exact same scenario.

      First call to Assurant was for a repair on Maytag wash machine on October 27, 2022 for a leak in the washer. The repair company did not show up during the time arranged. We received a call an hour after the appointment at which time, the appointment was rescheduled for Saturday October 29th. The repair person diagnosed the problem as needing two parts. We waited patiently. We finally received a call that the parts arrived and the repair person would be out on 12.06.22 to install the parts. The repairman (*****) came on 12.06.22 to install the parts and told us that if there was a problem not to call them back, but call Assurant. Once he left we proceeded to wash a load of clothes in the washer. The washer stopped and we went to put the load in the dryer and found that the washer had leaked and flooded our kitchen, dining room, living room and hallway into the bedrooms. We called Assurant back to let them know and after an hour on the phone with them, we were told that the claim had been "escalated" to the next level and we would receive a call within 24-48 hours. We received no call from them. When we returned from medical procedures on 01.14.23. we contacted Assurant and were told that the claim was closed as the vendor said the work was completed. The repair company came out and apologized as they did not connected the hose correctly. They left, washer still leaking. Called Assurant again requested new company come out, that company came out twice found the leaks, could not find source said may be the tub (see comment on invoice). We requested another call, as still leaking. Appointment for 01.28.23 was cancelled by the repair company, no call no show. Another call scheduled for 02.07.23. The problem from 10.27.22 still has not been repaired. We continue to get a run around from Assurant.

      Today 1/27/2023 I have been calling both ******** and their vendor Assurant Insurance for a mechanical issue on my smartphone. 1. ******** states my phone is out of warranty and connected me to Assurant. 2. Assurant states they don’t cover mechanical failure and that I need to speak ********. 3. Neither company has been helpful in providing a solution. What is the point of paying for phone protection if you are not going to cover mechanical issues or provide a replacement. I do not appreciate being sent back and forth 3 times and want a resolution. Someone needs to cover the repairs need, replace the phone, or provide a refund for useless coverage.

      I filed a claim back in September on an *** *****. I kept checking for the deductible to be taken from my bank account and after a while of not seeing the transaction, I assumed the claim was never processed because I never received the replacement device either. In December, I logged in to my ******* account to pay my bill and it showed that I was billed a non return fee of almost $*** on that claim. I called ******* and explained to them that I never got the phone and didn't even know the claim went through bc I never saw the deductible draft from my account. ******* advised me to contact assurant because they will investigate and can waive the fee. So that's what I did. And that's what they said they would do. After 3 weeks of waiting, I called them back and they said to give them 3 more days for their investigation to be complete. After waiting 3 days, I called them and they kept me on the phone, kept putting me on hold and coming back saying the same thing. That they can't help me and the fee is valid. And it wasn't valid because I got the phone, it was valid purely because they cant dispute it with UPS because too much time had lapsed. If that was the case, they could have started with that in December. Why even make me wait 4 weeks to say that? I feel like they wasted my time in order to be able to say no in the end. ****, the supervisor stated repeatedly that it's been 130 days since I filed the claim. But over 30 of those days there was an open investigation pending. I feel like I've been stolen from bc I've been charged $***, apparently paid a $*** deductible, AND STILL have to continue using my broken phone. I pay HUNDREDS of dollars in cell phone insurances every single month on my ******* account and now I don't see the value or benefit in it any of it! I will probably be canceling all 9 of my lines insurances due to this. Assurant owes me a phone or some money! I cannot believe they get away with this type of shady business going on. BEWARE CUSTOMERS!

      I filed a claim on mytmoclaim.com through Assurant for my daughter's broken phone on 10/15/2022. We received the replacement device 10/18/2022. They provided a return envelope & label for us to send back the damaged device. My daughter mailed the package out a couple days after. She received a few emails from Assurant saying that the damaged device had not been received yet & we never received any notification that the package was delivered. I called 11/7/2022 to check on the status. The rep informed that the package was received 10/31/2022 & they were waiting on the warehouse to scan it. There was no other communitcation on my part or Assurant's from that point. 01/26/2023 I received a text from TMobile stating my bill was $******* which is extremely high. I looked at the bill& saw a charged from Assurant for "DamagedDevNotRecv" in the amount of $******. I reached out to Assurant & they told me they would research it and get back with me. In the meantime they advised me to contact TMobile to them know that they were researching this so they would not disconnect our service for that outstanding balance. Tmobile then called Assurant and connected all of us on one call. Assurant then informed me that they already had an update from the warehouse and the reason why I am being charged is because they received the package but there was no device in it. The said that I am responsible for the fee because of that. I let them know that we were never notified of this issue. I asked for proof that the package was empty upon receipt and they said they could not provide that. They told me I would have to file a claim with USPS. I tried to do that but because the label Assurant provided me with did not include insurance, I cannot file a claim. I have researched Assurant & see that this is a common issue with them claiming that customers' packages are empty when they receive them. It's very suspect to me that at no point from 10/31/22 reached out about the empty package.

      I purchased an extended warranty through Lowes (Plan # 0163752920200102522004) for a washing machine (GE Gfw550ssnww). I have had several issues that have been resolved under warranty. A new claim filed on 1/9 resulted in a diagnosis that the drum and ball bearings had failed and required replacement. Considering the cost to repair was extensive, higher than the cost of the washing machine, I tried to file a buyout request which is allowed under the terms and conditions of the warranty agreement. I demand a check in the amount of $****** be sent to my home address on file in accordance with the terms and conditions of the warranty agreement.

      Assurant is my warranty provider for my refrigerator I purchased through Lowes. My refrigerator fell apart through normal wear and tear because it was incorrectly made/installed. I purchased the three year protection plan upon purchase, and attempted to repair through Assurant. I was told to do that through the help number, Lowe's, and Assurant. Assurant sent out a tech through a contractor that confirmed the damage was not my fault. That contractor then ordered a repair part for the fridge, but completely ceased contact. I purchased the fridge in November, 2021. December 2022 I filed a new claim with Assurant because I had not heard from the original repair team and the refrigerator was still broken since my original claim filed October 2022. Assurant sent out a new team. By this point, the fridge door had completely separated from its hinges because I had to keep using it despite its being broken. The broken piece hit multiple family members in the head, and almost hit my three year old son. It was hanging by a wire, but without the part it doesn't seal. The second technician reported the damage could not have been caused by normal wear and tear, so Assurant denied my claim. I sent the information from the first team, and have not heard back. Assurant has been rude, unresponsive, and unhelpful at this point. The phone tree and behavior of staff is designed to make consumers give up on receiving any help whatsoever. I paid for a three year warranty, but their behavior makes it clear they never intended on acting on it or fulfilling said warranty.
