A golf tee time reservation was made on-line via a cell phone with Golf Now on 02/07/2022 @ 11:18 AM. Golf Now service fees, as well as the actual greens fees for golf, were paid via a Citibank credit card. I immediately realized I had made an error in the golf course selection (location), and cancelled via their on-line reservation system. At 11:20 AM, via email, I received notification of the cancellation directly from Golf Now. Golf Now has used their published policies to defend their keeping $137.00 in greens fees which were not earned. This action on the part of Golf Now represents theft. There was no contract established between the parties due to the fact that no exchange of consideration was made. Golf Now kept the paid for greens fees and I received nothing - they cancelled the tee times, golfing was made unavailable, and at the time of these events no notification was provided to me stating that Golf Now would confiscate the $137.00. This illegal operation is being hidden under the wings of NBC Sports and their multiple divisions. This is an illegal operation and should be cited as such by the Better Business Bureau of Florida.Business Response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/07/06) */ Thank you for bringing case #******** to our attention. If this is in regards to reservation **********, our records show that this was a Hot Deal reservation. Once booked, our Hot Deals can not be refunded unless the golf course is closed for their time of play. The day of cancellation, we issued the consumer seven (7) $20.00 promotional codes, total $140.00 in value. These promotional codes are valid on Hot Deal reservations, Monday-Thursday, 12pm and later. The codes are stackable and are valid for one (1) year after their date of issuance. As it stands, the codes we issued the consumer are unused and are still valid. Thank you Member Engagement Team GolfNow Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/07/06) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) This merchant utilizes a standard on-line tactic to hide behind providing a direct response to a user, and in turn confiscates unearned monies. Regardless of this nebulous claim of a "Hot Deal offer", I received within 2 minutes from GolfNow a valid cancellation notice of the inadvertent, mistaken tee-time reservation I had made, for which, in the very body of their own emailed cancellation notice, they posted a Golf Course Confirmation: ********, which signifies that GolfNow actually opened the "Hot Deal offer" back up both at the prescribed golf course, Morongo Golf Club, as well as back onto their website. They did not pay Morongo Golf club for anything. They had no loss of monies, Moronga Golf club had no loss, and yet, GolfNow felt justified to confiscate $130.00 from me for an innocent, inadvertent on-line error. This is not an "on-line Hot Deal" policy - this is a license to steal from the public. There are hundreds of complaints posted against GolfNow across numerous on-line platforms. 90% of those posts claim the same "confiscation" of monies, and no customer service or ability to speak directly with GolfNow for resolution. Relative to GolfNow's claim of sequential codes made available for redemption and future use, this is ridiculous - I know of no codes or explanation of such codes in their stated policies, and have not received such a useless item. However, GolfNow's policy, obtained through my credit card company, states: "Customer's can request a refund within 24 hours of initial purchase date". But so what! I must ask, "if you cancelled a reservation within 2 minutes of inadvertently, and accidentally making it, and you immediately received an email notification that cancellation was accepted and which additionally provided the golf course's cancellation notification therein, all 14 days before the actual tee time inadvertently made! Why would anyone think they would need to ask for a refund????" It's preposterous that GolfNow is confiscating monies in this manner. No wonder golf courses are dropping GolfNow and replacing them with their own automated reservations systems or using alternate honest, ethical & professional golf reservation systems. NBC Sports should be ashamed of owning an on-line operation like GolfNow - no ethics, no domestic customer service responses, just pure credit card thievery. I reject GolfNow in its entirety! I want my $130.00 back onto my credit card. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/07/07) */ We issued the promotional codes to the consumer on February 7th, 2022. The email is separate from the cancellation email as these codes are created and distributed manually as courtesy. As the codes are still active, we can resend them to the consumer via email if they desire. Hot Deal reservations are non-refundable unless the golf-course is closed. Our policy is listed on our website in several locations, including the checkout screen before finalizing a purchase. Our policy must be agreed to upon successful completion of every booking made on GolfNow via a checkbox. If the box is unchecked and our policy not agreed to, a consumer can not book on our website. Even if a booking is made in error or cancelled shortly after, it still does not qualify for a refund on our platform. As Hot Deals belong to GolfNow and not the golf course, we reserve the right to relist and resell them in the event a cancellation is made. Under these circumstances, a refund is still not offered for a consumer who has cancelled. We only refund Hot Deal reservations if the cancellation is the result of a course closure. Thank you Member Engagement Team GolfNow Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2022/07/07) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) We continue to reject GolfNow's claim, and its inexplicable application of the Hot Deal policy. GolfNow should show proof that they were unable to sell their "Hot Deal" tee time reservation for February 21, 2022 at 10:15 AM due to my inadvertent, accidental reservation made on-line at 11:18 AM on February 7, 2022, which was cancelled 2 minutes later by GolfNow themselves. If GolfNow cannot show proof of their loss of a tee-time sale, then again our contention remains there was no exchange of consideration, and subsequently, no contract of sale established between the parties. When considering GolfNow most likely re-sold this Hot Deal reservation, they have in turn collected their $137.00 twice! This is typically referred to as "double-dipping", which epitomizes an unethical business practice by any standard of conduct. GolfNow should do the honorable thing - issue a credit to my account - and stop this outrageous practice of confiscating monies from golfers and hiding behind an indefensible practice. Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2022/07/10) */ We did not confirm nor deny a reselling of the canceled reservation. We stated we reserve the right to do so as Hot Deal reservations belong to GolfNow. In either instance, the consumer is still subject to the cancellation policy they agreed to at the time of booking. While the Hot Deal is non-refundable, as a one time courtesy we can issue an Account Credit to the consumer. This balance is valid for 6 months after issuance. It does not have a time/day restriction like the codes; however it can still only be used for Hot Deal reservations. The balance can not be applied to a course reservation. It will automatically apply itself at checkout and can be used in conjuncture with promotional codes, but a consumer can opt out of using the credit if they desire. The balance would be valued at $129.98 as we do not include our transaction fee in consideration of this. If the consumer accepts the Account Credit, their $140 in promotional codes will be immediately deactivated and rendered unavailable for use. Thank you Member Engagement Team GolfNow Consumer Response /* (4200, 15, 2022/07/11) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The GoldNow response offering does not make sense to me. On the one hand it states: "We can issue an Account Credit to ..." "It can only be used with Hot Deal reservations." "The balance cannot be applied to a golf course reservation." All Promotion codes will be unavailable and deleted." What exactly is the offering being made by GolfNow???? It sounds much too nebulous and precarious. Much more specific conditions regarding this offering need to be preesented and explained in clearer terms. " Business Response /* (4000, 17, 2022/07/12) */ Our website offers two types of reservations; Course times and Hot Deal times. Hot Deals are marked to differentiate between them. Hot Deal reservations belong to GolfNow and therefore are the only reservations that will permit the use of promotional codes or account credits on our platform. If the consumer accepts the account credit, the seven (7) $20.00 promotional codes they initially received will be deactivated. This does not disqualify the consumer from receiving promotional codes in the future. It will only change the type of compensation given for reservation **********. If the consumer does not accept the account credit, their promotional codes will remain unchanged. Thank you Member Engagement Team GolfNow Consumer Response /* (4200, 19, 2022/07/18) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) At this juncture, we must respond with the following: 1. GolfNow stated: "issued the consumer seven (7) $20.00 promotional codes, total $140.00 in value. These promotional codes are valid only on Hot Deal reservations, Monday-Thursday, 12pm and later. The codes are stackable." While GolfNow is obviously familiar with this wording, I am not. "$20.00 promotional codes" - what are they used for relative to Hot Deals, which, by the way, disappear faster on GolfNow's website than In'n'Out french fries from the bag? If a Hot Deal is like the one I accidentally put into my cell phone, it was for $140.00 including the greens fee paid in advance. Could I & would I, have to apply all 7 of their promo codes in order for a tee time reservation/greens fees of this type to be secured? How feasible is this promo code application on their website? What if their system does not accept the codes? Are the codes valid for greens fees or only their fees? Keep in mind GolfNow has almost non-existent customer service at best - and their CS phone representatives from foreign countries can barely be understood. 2. Relative to the "Account Credit" offer, GolfNow states: "does not have a time/day restriction like the codes; however it can still only be used for Hot Deal reservations. The balance cannot be applied to a course reservation. It will automatically apply itself at checkout and can be used in conjuncture with promotional codes". This offering is about as clear as an expresso coffee. Hot Deals have very specific time/day restrictions. They are very limited and just randomly available for any given day. 3. Equally important, why is it that GolfNow has never responded to the fact that I wrote to them by Certified Mail reporting an accidental booking-which they, themselves, cancelled 2 minutes later. To date they have never addressed this, except to write indirectly, mistakes on your part have nothing to do with our company and its policies???? 4. Finally, while "Hot Deals" may be the property of GolfNow/aka NBC Sports Universal, how do they justify being able to sell over and over again a paid for greens fee, and then be totally unwilling to offer an actual CC refund to the consumer??? Especially, when it was made and paid for automatically/accidentally with their on-line system? No one in business considers this proper and ethical. Business Response /* (4000, 21, 2022/07/20) */ The promotional codes act as vouchers and are used to book GolfNow Hot Deals. A Hot Deal is a special prepaid teetime listed on golfnow.com and acts to reduce the balance due of a reservation by the listed amount. As they are stackable, a consumer has the option to use multiple promotional codes on the same reservation. It is not required to use every code on one reservation and they can be distributed between Hot Deal bookings as the consumer desires as long as they follow the codes' parameters. Applying all 7 (seven) at once can reduce the cost of a single Hot Deal teetime by $140.00. If the round costs less than the balance of used promotional codes, there is no rollover balance of the individual code as each are one time use. If a round costs $60 the consumer can apply 3 (three) of those codes. If the round costs more, the consumer will have to pay the difference. These codes are valid only towards the fees on a Hot Deal reservation and can not be applied to other reservations or used on websites other than GolfNow. These codes apply towards the listed greens fees and applicable taxes of a Hot Deal reservation and nothing else. An account credit functions in a similar manner. It is a balance that is deducted to book a Hot Deal reservation. While the given promotional codes are applicable on Hot Deals that are listed Monday-Thursday 12pm and later, an account credit is applicable on Hot Deals outside of those parameters, opening Hot Deal bookings on mornings and weekends. Our policy is clear at the time of booking and the expectation is that a consumer agrees to our policy when they confirm a reservation. We understand that mistakes happen, and try to be as flexible as possible within the parameters of our policy which is why we offer other forms of compensation (Promotional codes and account credit for GP+ members) for non-refundable tee times on a case by case basis. We are always open to customer feedback and understand that sometimes a resolution may not be satisfactory to a consumer. However, this does not change our current policy, but could potentially lead to policy revisions in the future. Thank you Member Engagement Team GolfNowInitial Complaint

I reserved a tee time through golf now however I was not able to play in my round of golf at the course that I selected because the golf course does not accept golf now anymore due to past problems I spoke to a representative at golf now LLC and was told that I would receive a refund in the full amount of $52 on Wednesday June 29th 2022 yesterday Thursday June 30th 2022 I noticed that they tried to refund my bank account of $51.42 and today Friday July 1st 2022 they charged me $52 again I contacted golf now and ask them to refund me the full amount that I was told I would be refunded however they told me there was nothing they could do I told them that I would be contacting you if they did not refund me the full amount of $52Business Response

I made a golf reservation with this website however I canceled it the night before due to bad weather in the forecast. I signed up for their premium Golf now + service which advertises "Worry free cancellation" as long as it is cancelled at least one hour prior. However I did not receive a refund nor did I receive any type of site credit as promised.Business Response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/06/22) */ Thank you for bringing case ********* to our attention. After reviewing the consumer's account, we see that they signed up for the 7-Day Free Trial of Golf Pass+. The trial membership does not offer full access to all Golf Pass+ benefits, including the worry-free cancellations. We have attached an image outlining this. When the consumer cancelled, they were issued 13 $20.00 promotional codes. These codes are valid on Hot Deal reservations on GolfNow, Monday-Thursday, 12pm and later. The codes are valid for one year after issuance and are stackable. Per our policy, the consumer's reservation does not qualify for a refund or account credit. Thank you Member Engagement Team GolfNow Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/06/22) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I signed up for an entire year of this program. When I signed up I was offered a 7 day free trial of the same exact program. What is the point of a free trial if you cannot use any of the perks? That is called false advertising. Is that not the purpose of the program? This is completely fraudulent activity. The promo codes are for their less desirable days and times. I paid for a service which was not provided and received "promo codes" for an inferior product. That is extremely bad business and unethical. Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2022/06/23) */ Our records indicate that the consumer has only taken advantage of the 7-Day free trial and did not transition into a full paid annual GolfPass+ Membership. The screenshot that the consumer provided outlines the benefits of the paid membership. Per image provided, not all of the GolfPass+ benefits are available in the 7-Day free Trial. The offer of Worry-Free cancellations is not available in the free trial. The promotional codes we have sent the consumer are not in relation with the GolfPass+ membership. They are a courtesy offered for the cancelled non-refundable Hot Deal reservation. Thank you Member Engagement Team GolfNow Consumer Response /* (4200, 12, 2022/06/23) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) This is absolute absurdity. The image provided clearly states try golf now plus at the bottom. What is there to try then? That is their own advertisement for the trial. Clearly this business makes their money off of lies, false advertising, and deception. I did not even have the option to decline the 7 day free trial! It started automatically when I subscribed for a full year. That is your fault and you are to be held liable. The fact that you call yourself a business is laughable when clearly you are just a front for scam. Business Response /* (4000, 16, 2022/06/28) */ We have been very transparent and have clarified that the 7-day free trial offer does not include ALL the benefits of our GolfPass + membership. This was outlined and agreed to by the consumer at the time of signing up for the 7 day free trial. Worry-Free Cancellation was included in this exception and only applies to a full paying GolfPass + Membership. Had the consumer rolled over into a full paying membership, then they would have been able to take advantage of ALL of the benefits without question. We have reconfirmed that the consumer does not have a full paying GolfPass + membership and therefore does not qualify to take advantage of the Worry-Free Cancellation benefit. Thank you, Member Engagement Team GolfNow Consumer Response /* (4200, 18, 2022/06/28) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Yet another lie from this scam of a company. I signed up for an entire year and was given a free trial. Obviously I canceled the auto renew before I had to pay for a year because this is nothing more than a scam. It is illegal to take somebody's money for service which have not been provided. Business Response /* (4000, 20, 2022/07/06) */ According to the consumer, they canceled the yearly GolfPass+ membership before being billed for it. As they never possessed a full paid membership, the consumer has never been granted access to all the benefits it entails. Checking their account, we see that a yearly membership was never active and the consumer has not been billed for it. As a result, the consumer does not have access to the worry-Free cancellation benefit. Thank you Member Engagement Team GolfNow Consumer Response /* (4200, 22, 2022/07/06) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Do you have proof of this? No you do not because you are a fraudulent company. Nothing more than a scam. You should have your business license revoked for taking money for services that were not provided. See you in small claims court.Initial Complaint

On Wednesday June 15th 2022 I booked a tee time for The Club at Pine Forest for 12:07PM confirmation number *********. When finalizing the booking an error popped up on the golf now app saying that this time has been taken and to choose another. I proceeded to book another tee time at 12:37pm at the same course confirmation number *********. As the booking finished I was given the same error in the app that this tee time is booked. So I went to different course and as I was about to book another tee time I was alerted in email that the two bookings that the app stated didn't go through in fact did and charged my account for $36.01 each. I called the pro shop at the course and they saw the same thing. They told me I had to contact golf now to get it handled as I only kept one of the tee times. Upon calling Golfnow customer service the representative couldn't understand what my issue was but said the charge should not go past pending on my bank statement. Well...sure enough it did. I have just a simple request. Refund my extra tee time that a bug in your app told me didn't go through and we'll part ways and I'll never use the service again. I don't understand why it's so hard for a company so well known to fix it's mistake and just refund the money and to hire competent customer service reps. If screenshots are needed I'll post when Golf now responds.Business Response

I have I used golfnow often - I check it daily for tee times. I bought a hot deal for this past Friday using the save 10 fathers day promotion. Go out and get to hole 6 and a wind and lightning storm comes up out of nowhere and we head in for safety. The course has a tournament in afternoon closing course. I want a rain check that's it. But no - your "policy" says nope can't do. Why not ? $36 dollars for 6 holes is unfair. Refund or rain check? Why should I be punished for being smart enough to use your app? I guess I am a dummy. On April 9th my ********** was charged for $353.24 from Golf Now. I have used golfnow in the past, but had not had any interaction with them since 2018. I contacted the golf now support team by email and was asked to provide information regarding the charge. On April 13th, I emailed them a copy of my credit card statement that showed the incorrect charge. I was then asked by email for additional information including which card was used. I then did not hear back for several weeks. I have made four separate attempts to resolve this with their customer support via telephone and each time was told that my issue had been escalated to the resolutions group and that I would receive a call within 24 hours to discuss the status. In addition, each time I was told that the issue would be resolved within 5-7 business days. It has still not been resolved and they have not contacted me to ask any additional questions. This is clearly a mistaken charge to my credit card that the simply will not resolve. Please help.Business Response

2 issues: 1 - On 5/14/22 I booked a Hot Deal 4some for Sat 5/21/22 at Deerfield Golf Club in IL. Lightening accompanied by rain delayed the start of the time (10:57) and the rain continued all day. I submitted a cancelation to Golf Now for the time: I am 65 and two of the other players are 68, playing in the rain is extremely uncomfortble for our arthritis and general health. I am a good customer of Golf Now and expect the cancelation to provide a refund of the $164.12 prepaid amount. I received notification of the cancelation on 5/21, but nothing since. 2 - I tried to book the Deerfield Golf Club in IL on 5/22/22 for Sunday 5/29 for one foursome. Unfortunately I selected the Deerfield course in the state of NJ. I was charged $221.96. Upon realization of my mistake I booked the correct Deerfield GC in IL for two 4somes, and was charged two $9.96 fees from Golf Now. I contacted Golf Now the next day to cancel the prepaid 4some on the NJ course, and was told I would receive credit for future bookings. The credit is limited to Mon-Thu after 12pm. The mistaken reservation was made for a Sunday, which is prime golf reservation time. It was not clear that the credit would be so limited, and is not acceptable as a customer in good standing with Golf Now.Business Response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/06/01) */ Thank you for bringing case #90312460 to our attention. If this is in regards to reservation #*********, the consumer booked a Hot Deal reservation. Our Hot Deals are non-refundable unless the golf course is closed on the day of play. We reached out to the golf course and confirmed the course had good weather, was open and allowing play at that time. We understood the consumer preferred to not play, and as a courtesy was issued 10 $20 promotional codes. These codes are valid on Hot Deal reservations Monday-Thursday, 12pm and later. The codes are stackable and are valid for one year after issuance. The same policy applies to reservation #*********. The consumer booked another Hot Deal reservation that is non-refundable unless the golf course is closed on the day of play. As a courtesy, the consumer was issued $20 promotional codes that he refused for this cancelled round. We then offered a GolfNow credit equivalent to the green fees due for the canceled tee time, which was automatically applied to the consumer's GolfNow account and valid for 6 months. This credit can be used on all Hot Deals and Deal Times on both GolfNow and TeeOff respectively. We have assisted the consumer as best as possible within the parameters of our policy agreed to at the time of purchase. Thank You Member Engagement Team GolfNow Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/06/03) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) for reservation *********: the course on 5/14 did not "have good weather". it rained continually. the course did not close, but very few golfers tried to play. we are all senior citizens, and playing in a steady rain (not drizzle) is not acceptable. In addition, I NEVER had any communication from GolfNow about the credits to my account. all I received was confirmation of cancellation and the indication that I would receive communication. for confirmation #*********: after my call with GolfNow, I received notification that the credit to my account was only available M-T, after 12pm. If it IS as described in the above response to be available for all times, how can I confirm the credit? looking online with GolfNow does not provide a customer credit balance. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/06/07) */ For reservation #*********, the consumer received 10 $20.00 promotional codes. The codes are valid on Hot Deal reservations, Monday-Thursday 12pm and later. The codes can be stacked and they are valid for one (1) year after issuance. The consumer received these promotional codes because, as per our policy, a Hot Deal is non-refundable unless the course is closed. Upon speaking to the course, they informed us they were open and permitting play. For reservation ##*********, the consumer received an account credit. Account credits are valid for six (6) months after issuance. While they still only apply to Hot Deal reservations, they do not have a time or day restriction. They are valid on any Hot Deal listed on GolfNow. Account credit balance can only be viewed on checkout and automatically apply themselves to valid Hot Deal reservations, however a consumer has to option to not use it at that time if they do not want to. The consumer received this account credit as a courtesy as this option is normally reserved for our GolfPass members. Thank You Member Engagement Team GolfNowInitial Complaint

Was charged full price for a foursome and not allowed to cancel 3 1/2 days before the round. Course has a 24 hour cancellation policy and golf now has a 48 hour policy. Was charged $189 and I paid for a different tee time on same course, same day. Shady business practices...Business Response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/05/18) */ Thank you for bringing case #XXXXXXXX to our attention. If this is in regards to reservation #XXXXXXXXX, the consumer booked a Hot Deal reservation. Our Hot Deals are non-refundable unless the golf course is closed the day of play. We do not have a 48 hour cancellation policy. If the consumer booked a new reservation, it was done under a different account or done directly at the course. As a courtesy, we can offer the consumer 10 $20.00 promotional codes. These codes are valid on Hot Deal reservations, Monday-Thursday, 12pm and later. The codes are stackable and are valid for one year after issuance. Thank You Member Engagement Team GolfNow Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/05/18) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I did not book under Hot Deals tab. I booked thru Courses near me tab. Additionally, when I called course after you refused to cancel 3 1/2 days in advance... Course said tee time was released on GolfNows end. (Had another tee there that same day and didn't want two bookings) So if you didn't pay course for round where did that money go? Fraudulent business practice is where. Refund! Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/05/19) */ Hot Deals on GolfNow can be found under the Courses Near Me tab so long as they are available at the course for the selected date. A Hot Deal does not need to be searched for specifically for listings to appear. Furthermore, Hot Deal reservations belong to GolfNow. A golf course is not able to cancel or refund these times. As the course was open for play, the consumer does not qualify for a refund under our policy. Thank you Member Engagement Team GolfNow Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2022/05/19) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The golf course confirmed Tee time was available. I can't both prepay for a round and it also be available so you guys cancelled it. If you were unable to cancel because it was a hot deal, I should have had two reservations. Course confirmed I did not. Furthermore, a hot deal is only denoted by a graphic on the picture of course and can be easily missed. Also hot deal is not specifically addressed in same paragraph as cancellation policy. This is deception and GolfNow knows it!
