Pattern of Complaint:

According to information in BBB files, Spring Legal Group shows patterns alleging Contract Issues, Service Issues, and Refund Issues.

BBB files show a pattern of complaint alleging difficulty in obtaining contracted services from Spring Legal Group. Allegedly, consumers are in debt negotiation contracts with Spring Legal Group, where they are instructed to perform monthly deposits into a bank account that Spring Legal Group explained would be used to pay the consumer’s debtors and creditors.

Consumers state that they are continuously contacted by creditors, debtors, and courts requesting payments or appearances at which time they reach out to Spring Legal Group for assistance or request a refund for the unrendered services, the amount of money in the accounts is substantially less than what was deposited. No explanation other than service fees are provided. When requesting an itemized billing, the requests go unanswered.

On June 7, 2022, BBB contacted Spring Legal Group seeking their voluntary cooperation in eliminating the pattern of complaints.

BBB has received no response from Spring Legal Group regarding the identified pattern of complaint.

BBB will update this aspect of the Business Profile once additional information becomes available.

Spring Legal Group collected fees upfront before paying off the debts we had with creditors. We then get a notice that they will no longer be servicing us because they can no longer able to collect fees. They are now not answering the phone after waiting for over 3 hours on hold and don't return any emails. I'm looking to get a refund of 50% of the upfront fees that we paid since they only settled half the debt. I also approved a settlement to one of the creditors in ***************************** December of 2023 and those payments were never made to the creditor. They never updated as to why the payments never happened and now don't answer the phone, so I guess I'll never know.

I also have a contract with SLG to negotiate by debts, for the past 3 years, they have only paid off my lowest debts while deducting $860 monthly, it does not seem fair since I could have paid off more with the amount withdrawn monthly

I was paying the company for six months. Each time was a monthly payment of $455.30. I started to notice something was off the last time I paid when they took two payments in the same month. Since then, I have been told that they are working on getting my money back but I haven't seen any results for months.

I got a mailer from this company. I spoke to nice guy. I signed up in March. I was assured my debts would be resolved in a timely manner. I have been on hold for over an hour at times or no response. I paid ***** a month from April 2022 and then $1,068 until now. I also was asked to pay additional funds which I did! I am requesting a refund/settlement of some of the funds paid to Spring Legal. The only settled some of the small accounts. ********************************************* got a lot of money over $20,000 in fees and in addition to $99.00 month. I would like to receive some of my money back. Thank you in advance for you

    1. By entering into an agreement with SLG, I was supposed to be protected from debt collectors, harassment and any sort of legal retribution from the credit card companies. However, on 8/1/23, my wages were garnished to pay off one of the 3 debts I enrolled in the program. Despite multiple attempts to contact SLG to understand why this happened and how this could be stopped, I got no response. That debt is now resolved but is still showing in my enrolled debts.2. Both the website and app show the same outdated information that gives me no idea the status of my current debts, the total amount I've paid into my account or when the debts will be resolved. I've called multiple times over he past year and only got 1 person on the phone who told me that despite me paying over $700/month since 2020, my total account balance was only $2000, due to "fees, ongoing payment agreements and litigation costs."3. I settled the 3rd debt myself through a separate agency but have gotten no response for assistance, support or even updates showing in my account, despite multiple attempts to contact.4. Over the past 2 months, I tried calling, emailing, using the website chatbot, etc and have received no response besides an automated "we'll get back to you as soon as we can." I spent over 2.5hrs on hold one day with no one answering the phone. I called back the next day, same thing but I could only hold for 1.5hrs. As I type this, I'm on hold again, now for 45mins with still no one to speak with regarding closing my account. I want out and I can't get anyone to respond.

In June of 2020, I was searching for a consolidation loan for high credit card debit due to my son's AAA hockey costs and related travel. Spring Legal Group sales representative informed me that if I paid their company instead of obtaining a consolidation loan. they would be able to quickly negotiate settlements with my credit card companies for less than what I owe. they said my credit *** take a hit for a couple of months but, in the long run it will be much less money. I paid $916.66 to Spring Legal Group from July 15, 2022 until April 15, 2024. in that time, $14,496.03 went to Spring Legal 'fees' and $1,978.8 were paid to two credit card companies *********************** so out of $20,166.52 that I paid, 72% went to their company only and my credit rating has significantly dropped. its at the point now where I can not even get approved for a loan to get out of this debit.

I have been with this company since 2022. I have paid a large sum of money to this company in fees. Since February of 2024, I deposited the funds needed to pay off the remaining cards in my account and graduate from the program. I have repeatedly tried calling to see why my debts are still there. The excuse I get is that Spring Legal are currently getting sued, they are waiting on the courts to decide how the remaining customers will be taken care of. *** I have cancelled the monthly withdrawal of 800 dollars for the last few months so that it doesn't come out, but today I noticed that money has been paid to the creditors every month. So why have they not paid the full amount? Why can't they repay the debt and graduate me if they can pay what is required? I am done with the customer service and escalations department telling me lies. I want to be graduated from the program. I have spoken to ***** and ****** in the ********************** and would like to be compensated for the stress this has caused me and my credit report. Since joining my credit rating dropped from 750 to 350 and now is close to 630 but nobody will consider getting me a loan because of what this company made me do.

We went with a debt consolidation company represented by Spring Legal Group. We have been paying approximately $1,300 a month for over 2 years. They have only settled 3% of our debt. We received notice that they are being sued, and they will not be negotiating on our ******* ***** debts will not be settled. Also, the email states that Spring Legal will not be taking out any more fees until the lawsuit is resolved. They have still been taking out monthly payments. I have been unable to contact them. I have tried ************** No response. As a result of their fraud. I will probably have to file bankruptcy. I feel we have been scammed and are asking to receive any refund that I am entitled to. I believe they are taking our money, putting it into their own account and not paying any of our debt. We also were & still are receiving phone calls from creditors that they were still negotiating with.

Signed up with Spring Legal in July of 2020 to help with debt relief for. 48 month program. I pay $575 per month into an escrow account which they hold. I am unable to get in contact with attorneys or business for updates on the status of my accounts. Continue to receive creditor communication and garnishment affidavits with no resolve from Spring Legal group. Its now May 2024 with no updates on 3 pending accounts from *********************************************. I approved a settlement in March of 2024 which the business did not accept due to timing. Spring Legal has not provided any communication based on agreement or resolution status. Will not return my calls or answer phones after more than 1 hour on hold. Want to get my escrow money back and close account but cannot get in touch with anyone holding more than $9000 of mine.
