0 Stars.BUYER BEWARE! We bought a truck from DAC in June 2020. While not new, it was an expensive vehicle sold to us as clear title. 2 months later, as it was being registered to us in MN, we received a letter stating that it met criteria as salvage title and required a safety inspection. The dealership provided no support to investigate, as initially we thought it was a mistake. They also never offered to pay the fees or assist to get it inspected to assure it was safe and roadworthy. We learned from our own research with other dealerships that DAC should have known the industry best practice to refer to the nat'l insurance reporting system where this would have been visible (NMVTIS) in addition to Carfax – but they hadn’t. This was verbally confirmed when I suggested it to their GM as a way to prevent a bad experience for others; to which he sarcastically replied, “We’ve never done that and we’re not going to start.” We were never offered an alternate vehicle while awaiting inspection, no offers to trade it back in, or to refund the lost value (more than $12 k less than purchase price per MN DMV letter, due to salvage). Worse, there was never ANY apology for the time, stress, fears, or loss of value. The dealership blew off attempts to communicate with them directly, and did not respond when we filed a BBB complaint. When I again tried to work directly by phone with their GM (DAC is 5 hrs drive away), he stood me up when we’d clearly agreed on an appt time by email, and on a second phone appt was rude, sarcastic, and belittling. Overall, after ongoing efforts for a fair outcome for nearly 3 yrs (case sitting for months with the IA Attorney General), we have still not seen a cent or any apology. We have been unable to sell or trade the vehicle at its expected value, and have made several odd/$ repairs likely related to damages prior to purchase. The only energy DAC has invested was to find the loopholes to remove them from any responsibility for this matter.
