The mailer we received regarding a safety manual order form is deceptive and attempts to scare companies into ordering their safety manual by citing OSHA'S fines for violations. It was also worded like we already orederd it, and are being invoiced for it. Companies that are aware, or have a Safety Professional on staff wont fall for this. But it seems like a predatory practice towards newly licensed companies.Business response

Letters are being sent to us with intentionally deceptive appearance. If the letter said "we're charging $130 to provide the service that Colorado charges $10", instead of burying this information within the letter, clearly no one would pay. The company knows this is a scam, which is why they ALSO bury valid information within the letter, to give them a legal way out. That's like saying "Buy this apple for $13. You could also walk inside the store and pay $1." Why not offer a service (like "Don't be caught without filing your periodic report! We'll file on your behalf every year until you say "stop", for a fee of $130 a year!".Business response

Regardless of whatever boilerplate response gets pasted in below, WCS's annual report mailing documents are deliberately misleading and appear to constitute phishing.This is the second year in a row that I was almost fooled and in haste began looking for my business checkbook to pay $195 for an annual report filing that will normally cost $100 through the secretary of state. They incur costs by grabbing your attention with official looking document, and then having to go online and research an explanation.WCS needs to provide *clear* means to be removed from their mailing list, and to stop impersonating a state agency by using deliberately official-looking documents.It's frustrating that I have to spend time avoiding these bottom-feeders.Business response

This company is a scammer/Spammer. In a very subtle way deceives people who do not read the small print. Their marketing gimmick is to present a form that looks official so that you pay through them for a high-priced- fee for something is not required for my business type but they try to make it look as if I do by citing regs.. The header of the form does not show that this is a service that comes from their company. The header only has the title of the form which looks official. So that they can wash their hands and go away with the scam. Their name is in shorthand ( 3 letters so that you don't realize the complete name unless you have the forethought to investigate before remittance,) and it is hidden at the end of 2 paragraphs of legal info that is there to make it look legit. I incorporated my business "******************* Properties, LLC" in the **********************. The paperwork is complete, and I have received my certificate. In the past two months I have received warnings from this company that "If we do not hear from you within ten days we will cancel your order." The letters are written to appear to come from a ************* State entity, but in fact come from this commercial entity. This company continues to send me notices that my LLC annual certificate has to be filed by them. The forms they send are very convincing that I must send them money, but thankfully I double checked on the *** website to confirm my LLC was paid in full for the year. I received a letter stating I needed to pay $170 for my annual business registration. As soon as I opened the letter I sensed it was a scam and got online to verify this is in fact a solicitation to commit fraud upon my business. As a new business owner I could have easily fallen victim but I research everything that comes through the mail. I will post this to my social media for everyone to see in an effort to prevent someone else from being scammed. B) You have multiple disclosures on CAPS. Because you didnt even read my complaint that mention that fact, you didnt realize that I have already dismounted this deceitful argument.
C) You said that you have many satisfied customers. I can bet you that if we do a random survey among those who fell into your trap and explain the context, they would be really angry. Do you want to bet?
