5 starsI have been visiting Puppies on the run for over a year, I wanted to get to know how this business worked, During this time I got to know the staff and how they did things. I had the confidence needed to make the right decision in getting my first puppy ever. I do not regret anything! My experience was 5 star and my puppy is beyond happy and healthy! So thank you Puppies on the run! Keep doing what is best for all the puppies that need homes!Review fromBetty Q

Bought a puppy with a false health record. Was told the puppy had a stage 1 heart murmur when actually she was born with a congenital severe sub aortic stenosis. According to the specialist we brought her to her life expencity is 29 months to 12 years. Contacted Puppies On The Run they were concerned at first then no response from them. A lot of expense with vet and specialist bills with this puppy I believe a refund should have been given.Puppies on The Run

Hello *****, We contacted you in June requesting vet diagnosis and never received the paperwork. But in August you sent another email asking if we spoke to the breeder. Which will not be done until we receive the health records. You are a previous boxer owner and you were well aware of how common it is for the breed. In addition, there was no way for us to know if your puppy had subaortic stenosis. Testing a puppy is not standard procedure, especially with a mild HM. As this is something that typically changes with maturity. Because of her white color, she was already reduced to reflect any health concerns known for white boxers specifically. We would like to still communicate to the breeder, but we can not do this without medical documents. Please email us with the medical documents so we can provide them to the breeder.Review fromTonya W

1 starWe were very excited to bring our new puppy home. In less than 96 hrs he was acutely ill and at the emergency vet with a diagnosis of parvo and an estimate of nearly $10,000 for treatment. Based on the incubation period of 5-7 days for parvo he had contracted this at the store before we adopted him. He had been home with us less than 4 full days. Thousands of dollars later and our puppy has gone over the rainbow bridge. No doubt every other puppy in that facility right now has been exposed. One of the charms of this store is open puppy cuddling and play time and the general public walk around from one puppy to the next petting them, picking them up, playing, right? With no decontamination of the playing stalls between puppies playing and people handling them. Parvo can be transmitted on clothing, from one dog to another. Upon notifying the store management of our sad news, their very first sentence in replying was not “I’m sorry” or “This is sad”. Their very first sentence states “send us a copy of your vet paperwork”. The store has since contacted me with the results of one other dog from the store stating “what a true parvo test looks like”, implying that that the testing done at the Emergency Veterinary Center was not true and trying to justify how this puppy did not get parvo from their facility. They have also asked me to take down this review and accused me of lying. They claim he was “fully vaccinated for CP over a month ago” but other veterinarians I have since spoken with acknowledge that the dose at around 16 weeks is paramount for protection. Only the facts are listed above. Their true colors became very apparent in my ongoing communication with them. Be very careful before you bring any puppies home from this store, as our home, yard, and older dog are now exposed to parvo, my children especially are devastated and the store continues to be very difficult to deal with.Review fromKelly M

My puppy was purchased from Puppies On The Run last spring. She has a genetic disease that will give her life long pain and this business is no longer in contact after I reached out to them. I believe since I will have to pay medical expenses and possible surgery that I should get a full refund and this business is no longer in contact with me. Furthermore my medical expenses will be more than the cost of the puppy. I contacted the breeder directly as well. The breeder didn't know how I even got one of his puppies and he has never heard of Hip Dysplasia. I reached out to try and have this company and breeder not breed/sell these puppies and the breeder offered to sell me a puppy for $300. Meanwhile Puppies On The Run stated that they would try to get a refund and if they did, then I could get some of it. My vet bills will exceed any cost I paid for my pup and Puppies On The Run should give me a full refund. They sell unhealthy animals and don't guarantee the health of the animals they do sell after the 1st vet check. Hip Dysplasia isn't diagnosed until puppies are older. Puppies On The Run apparently are not willing to refund my money. I purchased my pup in March and she was diagnosed in October. Puppies On The Run should close their doors if they are going so sell unhealthy animals.Puppies on The Run

The above puppy was seen by a veterinarian on Mar 3rd, 16th and 30th, 2022. All 3 visits the puppy was cleared as healthy. Contract signed and dated by the customer on Mar 30th, 2022 states "Under state law, within 14 days of transfer, you may have the dog, cat, or ferret examined by a licensed veterinarian of your choice. Unless such exam indicates the animal is free of disease, you may obtain a substitution of a similar animal of equal value or, at your option, a full refund of any money exchanged at transfer but only if within 2 business days of such examination you return the diseased animal to the store along with a written statement from the veterinarian that the animal was not free from disease." We made it very clear on the phone and in emails we needed all the vet records to take the next step for the customer. Even though there is a legal binding contract with us. Most of our breeders have a 1st birthday health guarantee. However, We would have to contact the breeder ourselves and provide all medical records. We work directly with the breeder and request full/partial refund, however, the opportunity was lost for two reasons: the customer never provided the paperwork in a timely manner. In addition the customer contacted the breeder directly. The puppy is now 1 years old and if there was a breeder's health guarantee it has now expired. If need I can provide physical documents of the contract, phone calls, text and emails, See dated communication below. Oct 12, 2022, (almost 7 months after signing the contract) the above customer called us and wanted to let us know how the puppy was doing. Below is the detailed message from a staff member and her their conversation. KXXXXX MXXXXXXX just called “She took home Wendy the golden retriever on March 30th 2022. She said she was noticing Wendy's legs hurting her like a couple months ago but it was okay until last week she took her on a walk and by the end of it Wendy couldn't walk she was in so much pain. She took her to the vet and the vet said she needs a double hip replacement. One hip was found to have no hip socket so it is very painful for the pup. The other has severe hip arthritis. XXXXX came from XXXX XXXXX KXXXX wants to make it VERY known that she FULLY understands the contract and is NOT AT ALL looking for money or trying to go after us. She is very thankful for XXXXX and loves her so much and understands the contract. She just wants to make us aware and wondering if any other pups from BXXXX have been like this and she said she doesn't want anyone else to go through this. She wanted to talk to you originally but I asked for more info before I told you so I could let you know the full story! She said if you needed any more info she's happy to talk more about it!!” Oct 16, 2022, Staff member followed up asking if we received any records yet. At this time we still did not have any medical records from the customer. Nov 12th, 2022 (1 month later after calling us) the above customer sent us an email. She informed us again about the puppies about what her vet said. But she did not send medical records. Nov 15th, 2022, 3:10 am we responded to her email with: “Thank you for contacting us KXXXXX. Could you please send us veterinarian records? The records would show official diagnosis and treatment plan. XXXXX is a responsible breeder and we need to make him aware. But we need those records to show him. In addition we will also request a partial reimbursement from him once we have those records. If we do receive reimbursement you will also receive a partial refund. Hope we receive those records soon so we can take the next step.“ Nov 26th, 2022, the above customer sent us an email. Her email stated: “Hi, XXXXX I have contacted XXXXX directly. He didn't know what Hip Dysplasia was so I explained it to him. I am not secure in the idea that he is a responsible breeder after that. He does seem like a nice person. However, he did not offer to reimburse me monetarily. I also contacted his vet to let that office know what happened. As I have always stated I am not trying to get money (although I should be). I don't want anymore dogs coming from your establishment with congenital diseases - especially at the money we (the consumers) paid. Honestly, you should be giving me a full refund since I signed the document to not come back for a refund under false pretenses. I have given you an xray of XXXXXs hip at 9 months of age. My Vet is XXXXX Veterinary Hospital. I don't feel that I need to give you more information at this point. You can contact your vet and discuss the xray & Hip Dysplasia of XXXX You need to make this right. Thank you for your time. As stated before, I would try. “ Nov 30, 2022, 3:42 PM, the above customer sent us an email. Her email stated: “I signed documents under false pretenses. Therefore the forms that are signed are not valid. I will send a formal vet report with x-rays and I will be expecting a full refund. I will have a family pet that will live in pain for the rest of her life unless she gets a hip replacement or other medical care. The cost for that is less than her purchase price. As I have shared you need to make this right. If there is a better way to get the vet report & x-rays to you other than this email please let me know. Thank you, KXXXX”
