The business was supposed to provide an ad for a timeshare I had recently purchased. Contract is only presented after payment is processed but that is just a side note. The timeshare I bought was sold to me illegitimatly to me by the issuing timeshare company. Which I was refunded for. In less than 1 month later I explained this to smtn they said they never saw this before and asked me a few questions to which I promptly replied and never heard back. I suggested a refund or partial refund they never replied. Their contract provides closing costs. Help with the ad and filling the add properly in which one of these were provided. Further more I asked on several,,, over 10 times,, for the ad to be removed regardless of a refund as it is false representation of a product that doesn't exist. The company never did any due diligence about the timeshare ownership and is not willing to do any due diligence on the product that doesn't exist anymore. I cannot sell the timeshare because it is not owned. Smtn hasn't responded to any requests submitted in over 9 monthsCustomer response

Around Nov. 1, 2023 I spoke to an agent at SMTN about selling my timeshare. I asked many questions and was unsure of using the service until the agent mentioned the maint. fee reimbursement option. I had already paid my timeshare maint fee in 2023 before I signed up with SMTN. On Dec. 4, 2024 I called SMTN to get the right procedure for reimbursing my maint fees. The agent I spoke to gave me the information, but also gave me another number to call ************ to get a better explanation. When I called that number the agent asked for my information to pull up my account. I was then informed that I had missed a yearly subscription payment of $148 dollars. I told the agent I didn't know of any payment nor was I notified it was coming due or that it was late. They said it was in my agreement. So I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor. The agent told me the supervisor would call me ******* one called, so I called SMTN again. I was transferred to the supervisor. I told him the whole story and he reiterated the earlier agent's words about the yearly payment. The supervisor added there was a $199.00 reinstatement fee in addition to the $148.00. After some complaining ( I believe I said he was holding me hostage) I said if I pay this reinstatement and the yearly charge, then what do I do to get reimbursed for my maint fees. The supervisor stated I could no longer receive cash reimbursement for my maint fees. If reinstated I would receive travel credits to use on their website. I told the supervisor I thought he was shady and I would complain in every forum available. I was digusted and ended the conversation. I then wrote a complaint on their website and have received no answer. I feel as though this company has tricked me from day 1. This yearly payment was never mentioned in the sales pitch and I received no notice of it by email or on the SMTN website/. I pay my bills and would have paid that.Customer response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Nothing has actually happened yet, but SMTN has agreed to continue the process and reimburse my maint. fees after completing some additional steps. That's all that I was looking to accomplish.

Collected nearly $5000 in up front fees. Has provided zero assistance besides pre-made general emails. Attempting to charge additional fees to stay a member until my product is sold. Misleading advertisements. Has not contacted nor updated my account in nearly 2 years. Wish to have a full or partial refund. Or sell my time share.Business response

We signed up to sell our timeshare with them over a year ago and were told that yes our property would sell like hotcakes. Well it's been over a year, no communication. We've lowered the price twice and have had no interest. I have complained to the company. The agent just brushes off our complaints and just ends the call. This is a scam business. We've asked for a refund and were told we were past the rescission date, which we were never told about in the first place otherwise we would have cancelled during that time period.Business response

********* promised to sell my timeshare within a years time. I paid over $3500 and the company states they cover they will cover the maintenance fees while you are selling the timeshare. They had me list it at a crazy price originally of like $7500 and I knew it was ridiculous. I have since dropped the price to $1700 and now I am seeing that other people are having similar issues on BBB here. This is a scam, I would like my money back or my timeshare bought by them. please send me the maintenance fees as promised. The reponse from this company is always many days after and very vague. The company gave me misinformation on pricing of my Grand Timber timeshare in ************. They suggested that the market price of $29,000 and there has been no activities to warrant paying a fee of $1998.00. The customer service has continued to fail in providing any reasonable solution or refund.Business response

I have contacted them and lowered the sale price 3 times. The last time well below their previous sale price history of other comparable units. They have never contacted me about anything. Since we signed the contract to see our timeshare on November 10, 2022, the company has not been in touch with us at all. We originally talked to ***** ******, the sales person, and every time that we have tried to contact him, he has not returned on single telephone call. We originality listed the property at $ ********* and have reduced it several times. The latest change was to reduce the property to $ ********. There have been no offers, no communication from SMTN or ***** ******. This complaint is for a total lack of communication from Sell My Time Share Now, LLC, and a lack of effort on their part in marketing and trying to sell our property. I believe that this company is a scam and has no interest in helping their customers.Business response

On October 4, 2022 contracted with **** to sell my timeshare. I paid $1,998 USD. The *** told me he would sell my timeshare, and we were given the valuation of around $5,000. I was very surprised to hear that as I thought the resale market for timeshare properties was oversaturated, but I was told that the $5,000 price was fair market value and that I should have no problem selling. I decided to list at $3,900 to be more competitive. I eventually dropped the price to $1,900 on July 28, 2023. To date, I have dropped the price on my property to $50 and it still has not sold. There is no way that my property was worth the initial suggested listing price of $5,000 This is a SCAM. What they are doing is immoral, illegal, and an outright deception. No one should be put through this. They need to be held accountable for their actions. I want a refund!Business response

With my SMTN agreement, I also agreed to include the Maintenance Fee Protection Addendum, which allowed SMTN to have access to my units for 2023 and 2024 in exchange for reimbursing my maintenance fees to me once the use time was completed. One of the timeshares use was completed on 12/31/2023 and the other at the end of 3rd week in Jan, 2024, approximately ***** January, 2024. SMTN was to pay both of these maintenance fee amounts to us within 5-7 business days. Starting in early Feb 2024 through the 1st week in Oct 2024, I have been in contact with ************* tean members, both telephone and email interactions, including direct face-to-face meeting with one of the managers, ****** *****, as well as telephone and email interaction with Maintenance Fee Program team, including one of the Managers, ***** *******, without any information regarding my account. Now all calls and emails go unanswered. I have requested but have not been given management contacts above the manager level. Next step has already begun, engaging a consumer affairs attorney and reaching out to the State of *********************************. I am looking for a response to the outstanding matter.Business response
