Billing practices are horrific. Was sent a past due notice for a $9 bill in May. I called the company and explained the bill was already paid and that my check that was sent was cashed. They asked for proof, which I sent in June and again in July via email. Received a Delinquent account notice in August. I called company again and they stated they never received emails so I resent with *** still on the phone. She received email and stated that it was not enough proof. Stated I needed to send her a canceled check from my bank. ( my bank charges $8 for a canceled check) so I instead said I will just pay the bill AGAIN as I have wasted too much time on their inept systems. I paid online today and there is an addition $3.99 fee to process the payment of $9. ***** doing business with this company at all costs. They should be embarrassed to call themselves a healthcare related business.Review from Ju V

I have never experienced a more angry and belittling healthcare worker. I went for bloodwork on 8/29/24 at ********************** location. The worker (booth/office 2) immediately saw that I had a high number of labs (5-6 orders from my doc) and said I couldnt expect to have that all done. She was frustrated she couldnt find me in the system. My lab orders had Quest clearly marked at top and I had called insurance the day before to confirm I could have my labs done at this location. The worker scolded me at least 5x for bringing so many labs and saying she couldnt figure out my insurance or find me in system. You cant expect us to do this! She also told me over and over that she wasnt going to be able to do it. She made it clear she wanted me to leave, but since I waited over an hour and had fasted, I remained patient in my seat. She said I was going to put her behind and they were already 18 patients behind. She eventually figured out how to input the order in computer/click the right box for my insurance. She told me to never bring labs like this here again. I was shocked at her attitude, considering I had not been impatient or disrespectful of her. She eventually did the bloodwork and then said done, goodbye. If any other person was elderly or young or vulnerable in some way this would have been even more horrendous. I could not see any supervisor present so I just left.Review from Dr. Ronald G

They have the worst customer ********************** I have encountered in many years. You cannot get someone on the phone, you cannot log in unless you have your email from 20 years ago, you cannot get results, you cannot get corporate on the phone. Avoid at all costs.Review from Ron W

We had a test performed in May and asked Quest to submit to insurance. At the time of service I gave the technician my ******** Part D supplemental insurance information. A number of weeks later, we got notice that the bill was due immediately, and insurance had not paid. We paid the bill ourselves to avoid a late payment situation. Later on (June) I called Quest to find out what happened with the insurance. They said that it had been submitted incorrectly. He resubmitted the claim while I was on the phone, and said that we should be getting a refund. I then called back in July. The ***resentative just parroted the previous statement, we "should be getting a refund." Then I called back in early August. The *** apologized, and said that he would put a "rush" on it, and we should get a refund within 2-3 weeks, credited to our card. After 3 more weeks, still nothing. I called once more (at this point, almost 1/3 year after the service date). I was told that because we paid the original bill by check, they had to issue the refund by check also. He said that "typical processing time is 30 days", starting that day. I asked if they could expedite it, explaining our situation wasn't "typical" at this point. He refused, and it was clear he didn't care at all. Absolute incompetence combined with total apathy about customers' issues amounts to a truly terrible business. Hopefully someday we will be refunded. But one certainty is we will NEVER be using them again. No wonder this BBB site shows such a low rating.Review from Stacy M

My daughter was seen by a doctor on 8/14/24. Rapid strep was negative. Culture was sent to quest. It took 4 days for a positive result to come back on 8/18/24. My child has been suffering in pain and with a 102+ fever with around the clock ******* while waiting this unacceptable time. First and only time I have used Quest. I will never allow a lab to be sent to Quest Diagnostic again!Review from Andra M

February 2024 my *** account sent a $20 check to Quest which went over 30 days from being paid. The *** cancelled the check and I called Quest to let them know what had happened, they placed the account on a 45 day hold pending the payment to come through. I paid the bill online 5/14/24 and have e mail confirmation. Quest then sent me a refund of $20 on 6/11/24. On 6/2/24 I receive a collection letter indicating I owe $20. Immediately I call Quest, speak to a customer ********************** representative who verified Quest had not sent me to collection. I respond to the notice with my proof of payment only for the collection agency to send me another letter stating I owe the $20. On 8/2/24 I call Quest again who goes on to say that they sent the $20 back to me by mistake because they did not update the $0 balance due, back to $20. Then they sent me to collection to get their money back. Due to their mistake of refunding the money I owed, they sent me to collection. Quest did not send a letter stating it was owed, no correspondence whatsoever. If there was an option for negative stars, believe me that is what I would leave.Review from Andrea H

I had used Quest Diagnostics for all my lab work in ******** and now in *******. I would purchase a test(s) and make an appointment with the local lab. Every 4-6 months for the last year and a half in **. This last time I purchased over $300 of bloodwork and went to make my appointment but not one lab in my area. I was surprised. Now my Quest profile/account know where I am and where I go. No alert to let me know there where NO labs within 100 miles of my address. The lab that I used to use isnt listed. There is no list. Not one lab. Why did their site do that? I sent two separate emails asking for assistance. The first one immediately and the second a few days later. I did get the auto responses for each one but no other direct contact was received. I did explain in both emails that I just needed to cancel my order and get a refund. (They charge a $20 cancelation fee.) I even gave them my order #. No response and that was over a week ago. Chat didn't work. I can't hear much so calling is just frustrating but it was either after hours or busy. I finally went through the online support help desk and submitted a "ticket" explaining everything again with all the needed details. I received a note directing me to call biling. I feel like they are avoiding me and don't want to refund my money. I understand that they will supposedly refund my $ after 60 days ..but **** I shouldn't have to wait any longer for something that they could never fulfill. Other labs have easy cancelation proceses and no stupid fees. Please note I never made an appointment (I couldnt). I am only cancelling my order for the bloodwork... not the actual appointment to get my blood drawn. I have to call again and again for a cancel/refund I should be able to do online. I can with my new lab. They don't take payment till after I have made an appointment with a lab. Quest makes you pay before you can even search for a lab. It just seems shady. They didn't use to be this way. Avoid.Review from Andrew K

This took place on the morning of Sunday, July 28 2024.The tech worked in booth 14. She would NOT give her first name. The only way I can describe her is: 1) she worked in booth 14; 2) about 5 feet tall and slightly over weight; 3) African American; 4) glasses with thick black frame When I was next in line and was called in, I thought the process would be fairly routine. I get labs drawn twice per week - all at this location. However, when I told the tech I needed a *** and ***, she informed me the next one is not due until August 6.I informed her this is incorrect and to please check her computer again. She insisted that she is unable to draw for the *** until Aug 6. Rather that going back and forth with a person who was clearly not helpful (she did not even greet me or tell me her first name), I asked her to put me back in the queue. She then told me she could not. I then requested a supervisor. She told me there are none I then asked for my insurance ID and driver's license back. This is when she conducted herself in a shocking and unprofessional manner. She THREW my insurance ID and driver's license at me. Make no mistake: She THREW the items at me. She then left the booth to talk to another tech.At this point, other techs gathered. The tech (who treated me with contempts) at me told her co-workers that she "tossed them" at me. When I accused her of lying, her response was "Are you hurt?" She certainly did not ask this to make sure I was okay. This was a rhetorical question on her part. Right then and there she stopped denying what she did. Furthermore, she appeared to shift the narrative. In other words, since I wasn't physically hurt by her actions, I should have no valid reasons to feel upset. However, this does NOT change the fact that such conduct is absolutely unacceptable. Eventually, another tech did take my *** AND ***. This young lady had zero problem finding the *** order. This is edited to fit reviewReview from Kayla W.

This company does not follow up on unpaid claims with insurance. They simply pass the bill on to the patient, regardless of whether or not it is actually patient responsibility. Unknowing patients may pay these bills- thinking they are correct, when in fact they are not. Quest Diagnostics is potentially capturing a lot of money from unsuspecting individuals that they should not be paid! BEWARE and KNOW YOUR BENEFITS!
