Wrong Diagnosis after having our truck for 5 days, it cost over $800 in repairs to finally be told that the engine needed to be replaced. If the proper diagnosis would have been done initially I would have walked away paying 120$ and not repairing items that didn’t matter in the end. Said we need to replace the engine due to the number 2 cylinder going out. No compression test was done. This was a scam to get money from us for repairs that never solved the correct problem. Poor diagnosis.Review from Kevin D

This place is a joke. I went in for a diagnostic because my car was making a knocking sound, and they told me the control arms needed replacing, quoting nearly $2000. Another mechanic did the job for $760 total, with parts only costing $160. Zip Zap wanted $300 per control arm. Since they’d already diagnosed it and had good reviews, I didn’t question it and just had the parts replaced. My mechanic later mentioned the control arms could’ve lasted another year or two. It’s a 12-year-old Nissan Rogue, and I ended up spending $760 to fix a problem that wasn’t causing the knocking. If Zip Zap had driven the car, they would’ve realized the control arms weren’t the issue. A mechanic I trust found the real problem—worn motor mount bushings—in just 30 minutes. When I told Zip Zap, they offered to subtract the $600 labor cost from the $1900 they wanted to fix the motor mount issue. I refused and went with my mechanic, who charged me $900. When I asked for the employees' last names, they acted like they didn’t know them. Eventually, a guy named Brian called, but I forgot to ask for his last name. The staff claimed they didn’t know it when I asked in person and refused to tell me the owner’s name—super shady. In the end, Brian offered to refund the $120 diagnostic fee. When I went to pick up the car, they tried to get me to sign a form stating I refused the repairs, sneaking in a clause that I wouldn’t leave a negative review. Brian told the staff not to give me the refund unless I signed. I refused. If you look closely, many of their reviews seem fake. Short 5-star reviews pop up frequently, with reviewers having few other ****** reviews. They get reviews almost daily, which doesn’t seem realistic. Sort by 1-star reviews to see how they really operate.Review from David S

I had an out of town trip that randomly came up, I had to leave in the middle of the night but needed to have my car maintenance done. Zip Zap was open and changed my oil in under 30 minutes at 2 in the morning. I wouldn’t have felt safe leaving out of town without this service. Thanks to the team for making sure I am safe on the road.Review from Carmine M

Very bad service! I took my vehicle here to get my transmission fixed (that came with a warranty) that cost me $3,300 plus losing money at work and having to rent a car. After a couple days the transmission went bad once again. I took my car back to Zip Zap and the employee behind the counter said the owner put a note in the computer on my file saying "do not work on the car anymore". I said it's under warranty and they said they will not honor the warranty because the owner said not to work on my car anymore even though it was under the miles and under the year of the warranties expiration. I asked to speak to the owner and they said he was not there, I asked them to call him and they said he is on vacating with his wife in California and they will not bother him. I went back several times after and asked to speak with the owner or for them to call him and they said no and they are going honor the warranty. The two employees behind the counter were very rude and inconsiderate. I was also there 2 months before this all happened for a fuel pump and they replaced the wrong part having me go back and forth 4 times for a simple fuel pump and again losing money at work. My car was paid off and because of them not honoring the warranty, I was forced to tade in my car and lost money on the trade in, and starting over again with payments, costing me even more money. They have caused me so much stress, anxiety and money! I would give this place negative infinity stars if I could, this is the worst auto repair shop I have ever been to by far!Review from Tania D

Initially, I brought my Chrysler to the dealership to get a thorough diagnosis on sputtering issues and A/C going out. Chrysler gave me a LONG list of things that needed repair. They fixed a few things, but to fix an AC compressor was extremely too high, so I left and seeked A/C and engine mount repairs from Zip Zap, instead. Upon arriving to zip zap, I met Susan. Telling her only a few things I wanted to fix (A/C compressor, 2 engine mounts, and 1 transmission mount). She then stated, they would have to do their own diagnostic tests to see what they find wrong, I said "that's fine. Of course." I only mentioned a few things Chrysler was able to find, since zip zap was already going to do their own diagnosis. So, I left the car with them. Around an hour later, she calls back to tell me the diagnosis. Zip Zap Diagnosis: A/C compressor not working (parts $646.02, labor $360, plus refrigerant totaling $384.99), Replace Transmission Mount (parts $364.65, labor $324), Replace 2 engine mounts (parts $404.75, labor $324). Their diagnosis seemed to only shed light on the things I mentioned to Susan were issues. I was also charged for a serpentine belt, which was one of the things I mentioned were replaced by Chrysler days before. My car was "fixed" that same day. It seemed to be running fine after leaving Zip Zap. Next morning, I'm driving it again and it sputters. Accelerating after a light, I felt a delay in the engine shifting gears. Engine light pops on. I call and arrange a time to bring it back to Zip Zap Auto. New diagnosis: Thermostat's broken. I told Susan why wasn't that found in the initial diagnosis? She said it may have been old, but I had that replaced 3 - 4 years ago. Those typically last 10 years! She said the thermostat malfunctioning was a coincidence and not related to the repairs. Which I believe to be absolutely false. She said she'd have them "turn the light off." I went in honest and vulnerable, but felt scammed and highly overcharged for labor.Review from Robert M

I took my truck in this shop after leaving another shop. I wanted a second opinion. I was told bye shop prior to that I needed an engine. This shop came back to talk with me 30 minutes after arriving, and said the following to me!! Sir have a great day you just had disconnection of a coil boot, and there won’t be any charges today. Zip zap is my go too place from this point!Review from Caryn S

Horrible place to take your vehicle for repairs! Unless you don’t mind giving money away and getting nothing in return. “Repairs” costed $1700 and they never fixed the problem. “Mechanic” Tobias told me the oil that was leaking into my spark plug tubes has been repaired, paid $1700 only to take my car home and have the same problem I had to begin with. Brought the car back “oh, there is sludge on your engine, you need a new engine” You mean to tell me when my car is lifted you couldn’t see the sludge on the engine AND the sludge on the dipstick? Just another mechanic ripping off a female. Now a single mom struggling like others prays everyday my car makes it as I can’t afford car payments!! If I could choose negative stars, I would!!Review from Bev B

ZipZap Auto is Excellent. Susan handles everything with a quiet & concerned calmness. Anthony is an excellent mechanic, as is "T" - who took care of one minor trouble after my car had been home a couple days. (Very minor.) I've been taking my vehicle to ZipZap over 5 years - trust them to take care of things right, and they do. Plus, I LOVE ice cream sandwiches!!Open 24/7 is a dream!! Clean, well-run auto repair. Reasonable charges. Review from Miranda P

You guys ripped me off. You charged me for sensors you did not replace and you guys did the minimal amount of work you could. And I can prove it too and you also did not smog “my car” I don’t just have 2000 laying around to give to people. I wanted to put me and my boyfriends code reader on my car before I left the shop my boyfriend said don’t jinx it so I didn’t but sure as **** less than 50 miles later check engine light. There are exposed wires and a sensor left hanging under my engine block. And you fixed the wrong engine mount and the easiest one to change coincidently? I think not. I do not want you guys to work on my vehicle you guys have lazy mechanics. The owner susan I think is her name is getting taken advantage of as well because they were supposed to drive cycle my car onto a highway and the guy never went to the highway at all so employees are def not doing their job and are running all over her very unprofessional business and no wonder why I’ve never heard of the business cause usually it’s word of mouth and no one I’ve ever heard recommending your shop. You guys did work I told you that was already done I told you for a reason and I know the work you guys are charging me for for parts and labor wasn’t done because I can take one of the parts back to auto zone I have a lifetime warranty on that part I paid 60 bucks for it and you guys charged me 145.58 if I have to take you to court I will I’m not rich and you guys are totally ripping me offReview from Linda S
