      Brand new customer (Bought an rv for my son), set up my bank for a payment of $90. First time it went through fine. Second month it kept getting kicked back, they said check with your bank (not for lack of funds). Fast forward I'm purchasing a rental property credit always above 750. My lender calls me says your credit just dropped 100 points. The bank reporting me 30 day's late and crushed my credit and I had no idea payment wasn't going through let alone they were reporting me late. Last response I got is " its policy sorry we can see you tried but maybe contact your bank" Horrible service and lack of support or care for customer. Credit will repair but I will never use them or ever recommend. 100% do not use them decline any offers and look for another bank.

      I've had M&T Bank for many years and it just gets worse every year. They allow money to come out of my account when my account is already in the negative, saying they can't stop automatic payments. This is a lie because they've stopped these kinds of payments in the past. I filed a claim because my old car insurance company charged me when I did not have sufficient funds. They said if I didn't have it the bank would reject the payment. News flash: They didn't. I'm am down over $200 as a result. I believe you can guess they didnt give my money back. Now I am in the hole wondering how I'm going to pay my bills. They lied to me and said ACH payments can't be stopped. At this point, all they care about is their overdraft fees so they purposely won't stop payments and lie and say they can't to collect these fees. I'm on my last leg with them. I am now looking elsewhere for banking.

      After receiving a letter from FEMA stating that the map revision has been done in JULY 2024, they are wanting to charge me flood insurance lapse for AUG to JAN because the letter was sent in JAN 2025.

      If I could give 0 stars I would. $1600 was withdrawn from my account due to the mistake of a teller. When trying to resolve this problem, there was zero urgency. I spoke with four different people who told me four different things and were honestly quite rude. When a mistake is made on the bank's end, and discovered by the customer, I should be credited immediately. Instead, I am having to wait up to 3 business days to get MY money back. I had to take time off work and go into a branch. I am very displeased with the way this was handled.

      DO NOT USE THEM. I have an RV Loan with them, made a large payment on my loan which satisfied my payments until 2026. My monthly statements have said for the last 7 months that the balance is the same, no payment due, no interest NO ACTIVITY, no changes. I asked for a payoff amount and now all of the sudden the balance is $1042.95 HIGHER- there is no recording of the interest charges, they keep saying its in the load docs, ok prob it is but guess what NO WHERE on my monthly statements show any activity or I would have been GLADLY making the monthly payments. They offered no resolution to hiding the charges from me. Imagine if I hadn't called to request a payoff amount I would have had no idea I was accruing more. Awful bank- go anywhere else for your banking needs. They are crooks and hide accruing charges from you.

      Terrible costumer service. Reps are rude and not helpful. Even when trying to ask a simple questions their “verification” process is a joke and they will cut you off and not help you.

      We are trying to pay off my moms mortgage, we have a legal will, and they are asking for paperwork that is not required by the state of Washington. They are trying to hold onto my moms property in hopes we default.

      Zero stars. Their online banking is randomly down today. Here is banner from online login: M&T Online and Mobile Banking are sporadically unavailable. If you have any questions regarding your M&T accounts or you would like to complete a transaction, please try again later or call 1-800-xxx-xxxx to use our automated system. We apologize for the inconvenience. Unbelievably terrible service.

      I’ve been using this bank since for a long time and haven’t had any issues until these recent years. They would by pass fraudulent charges and charges that were physically me would get denied. When calling for the fraudulent charges, representatives would either make me feel like I’m a the issue or not even deactivate the card causing more fraud charges. Some wouldn’t even let me finish speaking just simply talking over me. I’d advise to go elsewhere
