Yext publishes business listings directly to *********, creating significant problems for business owners. ***** is essentially a dead end when it comes to removing or updating listings. Emails and web forms sent to ***** receive no response, leaving businesses with no viable way to correct outdated or incorrect information.Yext, meanwhile, claims they can fix these issuesbut only if you sign up for their service at $500 per year. Even worse, if you stop paying Yext, they revert your listings back to outdated and incorrect information. This not only sends your customers to the wrong physical addresses but also damages your Name Address Phone (NAP) consistency with ******, negatively affecting your search rankings and online reputation.Fyples lack of responsiveness and reliance on Yexts expensive subscription model to resolve these issues is deeply concerning and unfair to businesses trying to maintain accurate information online. (example uploade via pdf). The only viable option appears to be to have the listing completely removed. Yext needs to use the power and authority they exercised to create the listing updated, to delete the listing.Business Response

Hi ***, ***** is not part of Yext's publisher network. We'd like to clarify that any listings that aren't powered through our service have not been edited or created by us. We can only update the listings of businesses that have a subscription with us. If you do not have an account with ********************, we are not in possession of nor have we provided any information about your business to any search directories.
Without a Yext subscription, Yext is not locking any of your business data on any publisher within our Knowledge Network. Some may not have a free claim option, which is not a function of Yext. We are certainly not trying to pass the buck here; this is simply what the landscape of local listings looks like. This is why our goal has always been to put the power into the business owner's hands to control their data across multiple platforms. This is why Yext is the leading location management platform. We certainly respect your decision as a business owner to not work with Yext, so we can only point you to the best available outlets within the confines of the publishers you are trying to update.
Yext is not the only way to update your business information online. I have seen the two-pronged approach of 1) reaching out to the sites directly and 2) submitting updated information to data aggregators work for business owners. Admittedly, this approach requires a bit more elbow grease than the Yext platform but is still a viable and free/less costly option. Many search engines compile data from a number of different sources. One of those sources is data aggregators, which are sites that crawl the internet for public records, utility bills, free government feeds, etc. Search engines like ****** then pay those data aggregators to use the information they gathered to make updates to the business listings on their sites. You can use the following contact information to get in touch with the four major data aggregators. Sending your updated business address to them is a good place to start. I

Update 6/12/24
Hi ******.
There are no compulsory subscriptions with Yext. If you do not have a subscription and have never had a subscription, Yext has never provided your business data to any platforms. Some publishers may not offer listing updates directly through their platform and so may direct you to Yext for expedited service. Otherwise, they are most likely leveraging data aggregators. Here is a comprehensive list of aggregators and their contacts to submit your business data:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:I had service with Yext and cancelled it
Yext was paid, they made the listing. The listing site is non responsive. Yext needs to fix what they broke.
Fyple publishes on their site their affiliation with Yext ***********************************************************************
I paid Yext for 3 years. Then ****** stopped giving SEO juice for low quality directory listings. However, having a lot of conflicting listings, even low level, can hurt SEO.
At one time Yext made the listing through their affiliate group.Text can remove it.
**Problem , Yext publishes to some sites that only respond to Text, not the public. Then when you leave Yext they do worse than delete they "revert" to some former listing.
Text even published the threatening statement "cancel... service..may revert back ..." If you miss it, you don't realize they have told you: you are renting the directory listings on their affiliate sites. When you leave they will not remove, no , like a bad divorce, they will corrupt your listins, and orphan some so you can't change them on your own.
In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.
Sincerely,
*** *****

Hi ***,
Fyple is not in the Yext publisher network. We cannot submit business data to that platform, through affiliates or otherwise. If you believe that ***** is receiving outdated information about your business from ********************************, then I would advise reaching out to Thrive. Yext has not delivered your business data to any publishers since your cancellation.

Hi ****,
I hope this message finds you well!Any listings that aren't powered through our service have not been edited or created by Yext. We can only manage the listings of businesses that have a subscription with us. Listings can often be created on the web from a multitude of sources, and our mission is to assist business owners with updating and syncing their information across the web.
Since you do not have an account with ********************, we haven't provided any information about your business to any search directories. My best advice is to find the original data provider for the incorrect listings and submit corrections there. Admittedly, this approach requires a bit more elbow grease than the Yext platform but is still a viable and free/less costly option.
One of those sources is data aggregators, which are sites that crawl the internet for public records, utility bills, free government feeds, etc. Search engines like ****** then pay those data aggregators to use the information they gathered to make updates to the business listings on their sites. This company makes it impossible to contact them and when I do they send me to a page that ask for my banking information and a dollar authorization I never have or never will authorize them to charge my bank. The company needs to contact me with the information that they have please forward my information to them and they need to find a way to refund me my money that they took unauthorized without getting any more of my personal financial information. For the past few years I have noticed that my personal cell phone number has been confused with my business number on multiple online search indexes. I have successfully been able to rectify this on most websites, but MapQuest and other sites controlled by yext have not complied with my many requests to change the phone number. When I go to the yext website, there is no way to contact anyone for support, . On the MapQuest site it says that yext will change my information free of charge. But on the yext site they want to Bill me in order to change any information. I'm currently getting 20 to 30 calls a week from customers attempting to contact my business, and still have yet to receive a single reply from yext. At this point I would prefer they remove my business and all contact information from any index they control rather than continue to get these phone calls, or pay for some service I never wanted in the first place.Business Response
