Horrible experience at Meineke in Rossville.I had the car towed to Meineke, because of a faulty steering sensor.*****, the manager, explained that they could fix this problem for $800.In 2 days, I brought the car home, and immediately noticed that the sensor was fixed, the steering wheel was extremely loose. I took the car back. Manager ***** drove it and agreed that the steering was loose. He said he would try a wheel alignment. They kept the car another 2-3 days. ***** said the wheel alignment did not work, and they had to take the steering apart again, but now the car was fixed. ***** said they had driven the car and it was fine. I took the car home; the steering was not as loose as before, but it was still loose. I was frightened to drive, but drove it locally, until I could have my nephew, a mechanic, take a look. My nephew told me that there was definitely a problem with the steering, and that the car is basically unsafe. I took the car back to Meineke again. ***** now says that "we" agreed to do only "part" of the job, the sensor, and he did that. It would now cost another $428 to "try to fix part of the steering system" but there is no guarantee that this will alleviate the looseness in the steering wheel. He may need to find a new steering column. And now he is saying that there is no guarantee that the car is safe to drive, because you "never know with old cars".***** totally misrepresented the situation. I would never have paid for only "part" of a job to be done--that makes no sense. I understood that I was fixing all the car steering issues for $800, because that is what he said. Now there are new issues, caused by his "fixing". The steering wheel is loose and unsafe. I have missed work because of this and I am extremely stressed out in the meantime, because I need the car and it is not safe. I will never trust Meineke or ***** again because he totally misrepresented what was said and left my car in worse shape than it was originally.
