I took out a loan of $500 on 12/18/2023 . They want a little for over $1400 for a $500 loan?? I paid over $600 already in payments, I called the business to see what I can do so I can close the account because she mentioned the sooner I paid it off the less it would be but they want me to pay another $600 to close the account. I have called twice and every time I express my concerns they act confused about the questions that Im asking. I took out a loan online on 1.17.24, payments began on 1.19.24. The interest rate began at 54%. But when I looked at it, the interest rate is now 544%. I took out a loan for $1700, and now I owe $9229.57. I have paid $2000 so far. The payments are auto debited from my checking account at $178.82 every week.Business Response

Hello, I am contacting to reach out about a complaint I have for WithU loans. I sought out a loan for $1,300. I did in fact receive the loan amount. However the charges and interest are well over what should have been expected. In the final amount to be paid by me it would be over $4,000. It stated that there was financial charges of over $3,000. So far I have paid off the $1,300 loan itself. However the loan company is still continuing to charge me with interest and financial fees. I've read through the payments section and it seems that there are more than six additional payments to be made. I feel as though these additional charges are not right and feel as though the loan company is using these interests and financial fees as a scam to collect more money.Business Response

I took out a $900.00 loan on Dec 6, 2023. I was told I would get a certain apr but when I checked the rate was much higher. I've paid over $1400.00 on a $900.00 loan. When I called to get a payout they told me I would have to pay another $800.00 to close the account, they wouldn't even let me change the due date. On Jan 17, 2024 I needed a quick loan to pay for a bill that was due before pay day. When I sign up it said my payoff amount would be $928 with interest so I agreed and I borrowed only 900 dollars. They kept pulling ****** for 3 weeks from my account and the balance never went down. . My pay off amount kept increasing and increasing. I called the company to ask them why. They told me that if I wanted to pay off the loan right away I need to pay them $1029.91. I called 2/26/24 to the company to complain and resolve my account. I already paid $518.46 in total it would make sense if I owned 381 average to pay off ****** loan. They guy on the phone told me that only $16 of my money they have taken from me went to the principal and the interest rate on it was 458%. . My blood pressure went up and I almost had a stroke. They are scamming people out there on interest rates. On a one month old loan. Is this even legal? I need to eliminate this loan from them where my full amount will be going toward the principal and not just on a 458% interest. I do not make much and this is going to send me off to an early grave. On 09/03/23 loan of $400 taken out from WithU loan. Interest rate exceeds the standard 9%. Made several attempts at speaking to them only to be given the run around. Loan for $400 has a ******% interest rate equaling $762.72 which brings my payback amount to $1162.72. For 26 weeks of payments $44.76 I have currently paid $895 back to WithU loans. I have requested to terminate EFT payments and for customer service to resolve this matter only to get the run around. I am needing help to get this resolved.Business Response

Date of transaction - October 10th, 2023 They gave me a loan worth of $1,100 and when signing the paperwork they only said I would that amount. I have now paid them more than my loan amount by double and they claim I still owe another $1,088 which make no sense completely. I did take a loan and own up to that. I called them in November and was told i owed ******* and my loan would be paid off with my final payment the and was advised that my loan would be paid in full for 1086 dollars that were remaining the last week of Janaury. I just spoke w them today and was informed that in order to complete my account I owed ******* and must pay ****** for 6 weeks to complete my payments. I am rejecting this response because I contacted bbb after the call being told I owed more money today then I did when I called in November. I placed a stop payment with my bank as I do not understand how I owed $1089 in November and was told my account would be considered paid with the final payment the last week of ******* and now I'm being told I owe an additional 1000. I will fight this by any means as thier terms are horrible and when I'm told my final payment was ******* and now this. Not acceptable.

This company is horrible. It stalks me for payments that are well above the amount I borrowed, and will just automatically deduct from my account whenever it feels like it. I have paid back what I owe and refuse to pay any more. This has clearly been an issue for a lot of other people, seeing that BBB has a warning against WithULoans when you pull it up in the system.
