      When I first enrolled in the debt settlement plan offered by JG Wentworth over a year ago it was explained to me that they would settle my credit card debt within six months. It has been over one year and I still have debt associated with an USAA credit card that has not been settled. This is ruining my credit. When I contact JG Wentworth, and I have contacted them multiple times over the last several months, I am given a run around. I am told someone will call me back which they never do. I am told they are still negotiating, which they have told me for months. On Monday, February 7th I spoke with Jho E***** from approximately 12pm until 12:20pm CST. She explained to me JG Wentworth received a settlement offer back in November - this was never shared with me before - for over $6,000 to be paid off in 12 months. This means I would have to pay an additional $500 a month on top of the $345 that I am already paying. I explained I cannot afford to do this and that my ruined credit is beginning to effect my ability to seek employment. I asked if JG Wentworth can settle for a lesser amount or for a longer timeframe than 12 months. She said she did not know and would have to ask one of the "negotiators." She would have someone call me back. I told her I get that same response and no one ever calls back. She said if they don't hear back from the negotiator, then they don't call back. Meanwhile, I have to keep calling every month to have the same conversation with the same outcome. She advised I add more money to my account, which I already explained I cannot afford, or seek a high interest loan. This would be no different than opening another credit card. At this point, I feel like this company is a scam and certainly not acting on their clients best interest. I get a run around each time I call to follow up and smart aleck answers. This company has not provided the service they offered when I first enrolled in the program and are apathetic towards

      Due to guidelines set by creditors, we are typically unable to immediately begin negotiating with enrolled accounts at the start of your program. If often takes 4-6 months before we can begin negotiating your first account and that is dependent on the funds built up in your Dedicated Savings Account. To pay down all accounts it typically takes 2-4 years to complete. If you refer to page one on your contract, you will see that we listed your program length as 48 months.

      As you are aware, clients have the option to add additional funds into their Dedicated Savings Account to expedite their program length. However, this is not a requirement. If you choose not to increase your monthly payment or add a lump sum, we expect to be able to settle your final account in April.

      We apologize for any confusion around this matter. We understand the wait between settlements can be frustrating, but we remain committed to working with your final creditor to reach the best settlement possible.

      back in September 2020 I was contacted by JG Wentworth and was talked into consolidating my credit cards with them. I signed up and included 11 accounts with them, debt settlement was for 36 months my payments $358.14 monthly (total $12,888.50) total debt included $16,585.00. this sounded pretty good. They informed me that they would contact all creditors and I wouldn't have no contact any longer. I have already made 16 payments for a total $5,730.00. since 5/2021,one of the accounts in the plan has been sending me collection letters and calling daily without fail. The letter from *** collection received in May & Aug 2021 was sent to JG Wentworth I asked them are we good with this account and their responds (YES I updated creditors in our system). On 12/2021 received another letter from FRS, I sent to JG Wentworth and this is what they said.(this has been updated and sent to our negotiations team. On January 2022 another letter recd, sent to JGWand this is what I received back. from 610-770-7135 : ""We cannot settle all of your accounts at once unless you were able to pay more than double into the payment each month to allow proper funding in your dedicated savings account to afford 11 settlements at once. At a certain point all of your accounts are negotiations eligible. But we can't settle if there is not enough available funds in the account to cover an additional settlement payment to a creditor"", I realize that they are quick to take their 25% charge from the account set up once they settle an acct. Recently they have suggested that I deposit more into the acct and order for them to settle accounts faster. Totally disappointed with whats going on. I have spoken to the *** and have decide to take care of this acct myself. Sent details to JG Wentworth advising of that acct being removed and looking for recalculation on the contract. Have not heard back yet.

      Due to guidelines set by creditors, we are unable to immediately begin negotiations with all accounts. We need to let funds build up in your Dedicated Savings Account before negotiations can begin, which is why programs are typically 2 – 4 years in length. If you refer to page 6 on your debt relief road map, you'll see more information on the negotiation process.

      It appears this creditor was successfully removed from your program. Since the account has been removed from the program your estimated program length is now 32 months.

      Better Business Bureau:

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me once its updated in my acct to reflect the 32 pymts. I have attached what I currently see as my payment plan and I still see 34 pymts. Once this is updated to the 32 pymts stated in this resolution  I will 100% except resolution.

      I am rejecting this response because: All this started with the removal of 1 acct (Barclays) and now I am going to remove the remaining 3 account which JG Wentworth has not settled. Need them to reduce the pymts they wanted from me when I first started the plan so I can finish the remaining 7 accts with the program. The add'l 3 accts original balances are ($1,277.00 + $1,181.00 & $851.00 = $3,309.00 + the Barclays $1,957.00 = $5,266.00 this is the total amount I have had to remove so I can just finish whats already being worked on and settled with the 7 creditors. The balance to be settled on the 7 accts is $7,461.00 of which ******** has been made to them. I have already sent to JG Wentworth a total of $6,446.52.

      Initially inquired with JG Wentworth late 2019. After reviewing their offers I came to the conclusion that I did not require or wish to use their services. I have received NON stop phone calls, test messages, and spam mail DAILY for the past three years. This is harassment.

      ******,This is a game JG Wentworth play and they have done it before. They send the BBB a standard pre-written response along with apology and then a month later go right back to contact me. This has happen so many times they have zero credibility with me and also are lying to BBB right now. I am very serious this has to stop it has effected my life for over 10 years. BBB is my only hope for help aside from criminal harassment filings. I want a contract written up that states they will no longer reach out to me with financial penalties if they do. This is not resolved I can assure you this.

      I write seeking assistance in stopping unsolicited physical mail from JG Wentworth of ********************* Chesterbrook, PA ***** United States. (hereinafter Company).Since February of 2021, I contacted the Company to resolve the issue. They allegedly acknowledged the reception of the message and termination of the communication. The Company keeps sending me applications for loans and campaigns via USPS They force one to opt-out from the general national opt-out list but not a path to solely do so exclusively from them. Please note that the mails are a thorn in my flesh; I spend a considerable amount of time and resources on them; Picking them from the mailing room, reading them, severely using my device and internet e.g., in research and writing this complaint, not to mention the frustration and confusion all these cause. This is a matter that I would gravely like to resolve speedily. I resonate with your vision to provide an ethical marketplace where buyers and sellers can trust each other and your mission to be the leader in advancing marketplace trust. Kindly note that the Company's actions herein are regrettably unethical, and neither do they foster any trust in addition to being exasperating and in violation of my rights. To resolve the problem, I would appreciate your assistance in: a)Ending the unsolicited mails and any communication from the Company; and b)Receiving compensation of USD $400 through a check sent to my address present in this complain for the use of my personal time and them not abiding to what they promised. Enclosed is a copy of the most recent mail received on November 4th of 2021 and proof of my correspondence with the Company requesting an end to the communication on what they confirmed they will going to stop but they didn't. I look forward to hearing from you soon and having my problem resolved.

      I received a pre-approved letter for a loan fir $15,000.00. I submitted my name and email no other personal information. It does on the back state that there is no guarantee, however I get a call from someone telling me I need to enroll in a debt consolidation program. I let them know up front do not contact me if this is for a debt relief program. The rep said according to my credit score this is what I qualify for. I asked him who gave him permission to pull my credit score and he an agency sent it to them. You cannot pull my credit report without my authorization. I never consented to that. I pay my bill on time every month with no problem. I think that this was very misleading and now my score has dropped because of them. They continuously call and text trying to get me to to do a debt relief program which I am not interested in. If I can pay my bills on time surely, they could have given me a loan to consolidate. I feel they prey on people for their own best interest. If I wanted to enroll in something like that I would file bankruptcy first.

      So last year in October I decided to go through J.G. Wentworth to receive some of my annuity. I was in a bad wreck in 2007, 4 days after I graduated. My total is 1.9 million and plus some if I lived past my 90th birthday. First transaction went well. Second went well. The third, they wanted to see what their best offer would be... and it was 2,000.00... that's all!! Well I tried to cancel it in the time allowed, got no response. Also some of the papers in the third contract do not have the correct information on it regarding to myself, husband and kids. I'm in the process of dealing with a identity theft issue that has been going on since 2019. How is their best offer only 2,000.00 out of 1.9 million!!

      We would like to clarify that the $2,000 purchase price you are referencing is not for the entirety of your settlement.  It is just for the purchased payments agreed to by you on 3/3/21. Due to those payments being so far into the future, the calculation of the current value of those payments is $2,000. If you refer to your contract, you will see this detailed on pages 1 & 2 of the Mississippi disclosure statement.

      On page 6 of your contract, you will see that in order to cancel a transaction we need notice within 5 days of being funded. However, our records indicate that we did not receive your request until 17 days after.

      I considered trying to work with them on a financial issue, but did not make a final decision about it. The agent was supposed to call me back in two weeks. I heard back from a different agent and decided not to use their services. Since that time (one week) I have been receiving nonstop calls and texts from this company. I have asked them to stop and have told them several times that I am not interested in doing business with them. They keep saying they will put me a on a "do not call list," but that apparently has not happened. They will not leave me alone and it is harassment. STOP BOTHERING ME!

      Sold part of a structured settlement and no issues there. After the transaction received non stop communication through various outlets, mail, email, text, and phone calls. Expressed several time through multiple channels to stop being contacted and would like to be removed from the contact list. Each time the person would ask why and then kindly say they would make note on the account and remove me from all communication. I still continue to receive constant emails and texts despite numerous requests and their confirmation of removing me from their list. It has gotten to the point where it seems like harassment with the amount of contact and disregard of fulfilling my request to not be contacted further.
