Solar Titan USA - solar panel sales and installation - came to my house to sell me a 4K system for ~$20,000 and prompted me to take advantage of tax breaks and instant rebates for renewable energy. It sounded like a good deal, so I bought this system (with their loaning company "Mosaic") and had it installed by Solar Titan USA in July 2021. The customer service department did not follow up well on questions I had about permits being pulled, how the bi-directional meter would work to track useage, and how or if I would still be charged a bill from my local power company. They advertise that this system makes your power bill "disappear". When I asked about how to track my usage, the company referred me to the Solar Edge app, which seems to work okay, but does not have any data consistent with my local power company (according to my online metrics and power bill). So trying to compare how my meter is read alongside the power I'm generating/using is impossible to tell, and Solar Titan could not help with this - nor could LG&E. No one in the industry has been able to explain this to me in a way I can understand (using normal language). As of November 2022, I was getting billed by my local power company in addition to paying my solar loan. As of February 2023, the loan payment has gone up from a $108 payment to $146, which I was also not informed of. Now I'm paying way more than I did prior to having solar when the company is selling it as a way to get rid of power bills. There has not been a realistic representation of what customers can actually expect by having solar installed. Since my LG&E bill is so high, it seems my system is not working as advertised, or as it did in the first year.Initial Complaint

Solar Titan USA installed solar panels on our house in 2021 and connected them to a battery that was supposed to provide backup power to our house during power outages. It has failed to do so. Beginning December 23, 2022, I tried many times to contact the company by telephone and email without success. They are out of business. They gave us no customer service after selling us the solar panels and installing them.Initial Complaint

May 2022 we signed with Solar Titan to install a home solar panel system & they had us finance it through Mosaic/Connexus. First, the saleman lied that installaion would take only one day. It did not. It dragged on for months. The panel installers were a third party contractor not Solar Titan. They left construction trash in the yard. I'm not sure we have the right number of panels. By August we were paying by automatic payment still waiting. The "electricians" came out to install the battery box & inverter. To get activated it requires the state safety inspector to come out who found A) the electricians did not install the approved circuit breakers in the breaker panel (how long have they supposedly been doing this?); B) they failed to place the placard outside the house which is also SOP. Another call to ST resulted in another visit from "someone" to see what type of circuit breaker panel we had & the tech never returned. Yet another missed appointment to install the correct breakers. Another phone call to ST - they said the circuit breakers were on one truck & the placard was on another & they couldn't send out two trucks to our location. Finally we got the correct placard & breakers & passed the inspection. It took more time for them to properly coordinate with Nashville Electric Service (NES) to activate the system, sometime in October 2022. Then came the next "event". They were using known defective "snaps" (SnapRS) & would have to coordinate with Generac who would then send out another crew to make the repairs. In the meantime the system was not producing electricity per the design. There were at least two visits from Generac's techs only to find out from the technician that the original installers did not do the job properly and left some of the panels not connected. I assume he completed the connections when he replaced the defective "snaps". Now we have a system with no guarantee, no POC, and no way to verify it's working properly per the agreement.Initial Complaint

Solar Titan USA installed and activated our solar panels in October 2022. The panels are working fine but they are not providing the energy benefit of 50% reduction in our energy bill as indicated by the sales representative. The panels are only providing approximately 30% in energy savings. My biggest complaint is the sales tactic of contracting to reimburse us for the first 12 months of payments to the finance company. They sent us a check for the first payment and nothing after that. Repeated calls and email have gone unanswered. Also, we referred a relative to the company and they had solar panels installed, in November 2022, but they have not yet been activated. But they are already making payments to the finance company. We were supposed to receive a referral fee of one hundred dollars for each kilowatt of power installed. If they ever get their panels activated we are owed $1,100 due to their 11 kw system. We are seeking financial restitution of $3008.28 for the next 11 months of payments to finance co. Plus, $1,100 for the referral and installation of a 11 kw system.Initial Complaint

We purchased a system from Solar Titan USA for our home. We were told that it would take approximately a month to have it up and running and we would same 50% on our electric bill. It actually took close to a year to have it running. We have now used it 6 month and electric bill is baily 25% down over have the system installed. We were told that there is an apt for the phone to monitor and control the system. that was never given or explained to us. We have tried a number of time to contact the company but to no avail. We actually drove to Knoxville and spoke with them personally when we were trying to get the system completed and that at least got it installed. We started paying on the loan 30 days after the sale. NOT 30 days after it was working. We were sold a bill of goods. Last week during the wind storm, the power went out and we had maybe 2 hours of power from the solar system, not days as we were told.Initial Complaint

We signed up for solar panels in August 2022 (solar titan), the job was never finished. They messed up our ceiling our walkway and our yard and never finished hooking up our solar panels to where they worked. We cannot get a hold of anyone we’re trying to file a complaint. nothing is going through or no contact has been made. We deeply regret using this company or even trying to get solar panels for our children’s benefit. We wish to void the contract and for the company to come get their panels. This has been the most unprofessional experience we have ever had, they have not finished their job and to add insult to injury. We bought our solar panel system in December 2020. It was installed 2 months later in February 2021. First it was not getting the proper permit before installing the actual equipment. You would think they would have contacted the local permit and code dept as part of their turn key service before performing the installation, but they didn’t. I got a codes violation from the codes dept stating my solar install was performed without a permit and I could face repercussions and fines because of it. Then it was the solar fan that is supposed to remove excess heat in the attic. It leaked the first rain and we had to call them to fix it not one but TWICE before it stopped leaking. Then it was the numerous failed inspections. The installation that they performed failed inspection several times. Then it was the poor communication. It's been a pain in my butt to try to get any response from them over email and when I call, they say one thing and then when I am waiting on them to show up, nobody calls me to let me know what the situation is or where anybody is. I have been more than patient with them with this whole situation. I wanted solar because I like the idea of producing my own power and using less greenhouse gases and being more self-reliant, but if I had known this is what I had to go through to get it, I would have never gotten this system at the very least not with Solar Titan. It took them a year and a half to get my system running. During that time, I had to take off work numerous times. I also missed out on a year and a half of solar savings because my system wasn't turned on. I want compensation for all my time and missed savings and headache I had to deal with with this company. We had the system installed in March 2022. The system has not worked one day. We made multiple attempts to contact Solar . No one will ever call you back. If they do they fill you full of lies. I have missed several days of work due to being told someone would come out a certain to look at my system. No one ever showed up. I’m paying for a roof ornament that makes me pay for Solar that’s never worked plus my electric bill. We have even emailed without any response. I do not want to continue paying for a system that does not work and has never worked. We have been paying for this useless system for a year.Initial Complaint

purchased a solar system from them after installed it failed state inspection have had many problems with system had long delays to get someone to come out everytime we did they found something new wrong.never got the same person twice last guy that came said our battery was not working and would need to order a part he said it had not been working for months after waiting three weeks to hear back we called but it said the number was no longer in service. have now been told they have gone out of business. need help with our big problem.Initial Complaint

We were informed of many different things with Solar Titans when the gentleman came to our house. We were told our electric bill would be much lower than it's been and we try really hard to conserve our electric. We also were informed they said we would get a $7,000 tax break and we had to pay that back to them or our bill would go up. We have not received that amount or even close. The first month or so that we had our system it barley even worked. My biggest complaint now is the tax credit lies and trying to charge more when they lied.
