I am writing to file a formal complaint against Hinge, an online dating service operated by Match Group. I believe that I have been unfairly and unprofessionally treated by this company, and I am seeking assistance in resolving this matter.I was banned from using Hinge without any prior notice or specific reason given. Per the message, it states the appeal process will give more information about the ban, but this did not occur. Furthermore, I have been unable to speak to anyone in the customer service department. If there is proof that I violated the guidelines, I will accept the ban. But, at this time, I am convinced there is a mistake somewhere or someone using my email violated the guidelines.

I logged into my existing account on ********************** and paid $63.96 for a 3 month membership on 7/4/24 after receiving regular promotions via email. Immediately after paying within seconds I was locked out of my account with error messages suggesting there is a "problem with my account". That same day on 7/4/24 I emailed customer support about the login issue and did not receive a reply. On 7/12/24 I followed up and then I received an email from customer support on 7/13/24 suggesting that there is a "concern" and they will investigate my account. On 7/14/24 I then received an email from customer support that they are terminating my account for "violating terms and conditions" and cannot disclose anything due to privacy practices. I have paid Match.com for absolutely no services. They conveniently allowed me to login and pay them, then proceeded to lock me out of the account. Their business is unfair and unprofessional without a concern for paying customers, and without proper explanation. On 7/15/24 I received emails from Hinge and OK Cupid informing me my accounts had been banned. No warning or reason was given. I upgraded my Match.com account on July 10th. I spent more than ******. On July ************************************************************************************* verify my phone number. No help was given on the screen to get past the issue. I submitted a ticket through their help system and was told it could take up to 48 hours for help. Finally on July 12 I was able to get ahold of someone through chat and they released the account. On July 13 the account again was blocked by the phone validation issue. I submitted another ticket, answered the questions again, and nothing happened. On July 15, the account was still impacted and I tried to reach out on chat again but now their system was not responding to my requests. I tried following through on the customer service thread and no response. July 16th, the chat session now just reads that they are closed. I submitted another ticket asking for help.******** customer service for a paying customer!Please fix the issue with my account. And please consider getting better help for your paying customers. I've provides screenshots of email going to the ******************* email address. I have over a dozen pieces of communication showing they are requesting information but no resolution. I also have provided a screenshot from today showing that my request for help at help.match.com is showing offline during regular business hours. I have had an issue contacting the help chat line since Monday this week.I am happy to get on a video call and show you my drivers license to prove that I'm who I am. I just would like the account enabled please.

I've also attached further proof that your chat system is no longer responding to me.
I just don't get it. I've sporadically logged on to this account for months. I've never been locked like this. And then when I finally actually pay you 280+ to use the account you block me out.
I find the process incredibly frustrating.
Suggestion.. how about make someone prove who they are by validating the account BEFORE they pay you hundreds of dollars and start engaging with people.

I reached back out to my bank (Citi) and they again stated they don't have a 23 digit code (ARN). Your agents are asking for a piece of information that the bank does not have.
They gave me this code: ZBWJX4Y2
And I've attached the screenshot today from my bank again showing that I made the purchsePlease correct and release the account

I am rejecting this response because: Match is not being reasonable with proof of ownership. I've provided legal proof of who I am (drivers license), proof of ownership of the phone number with my carrier, and provided them with the correct email address to look up the account under ********************* and proof of communication and the case numbers for my request to work through their customer service department. I've provided proof that their customer service department is being unresponsive.
I've attached proof of the ******************* email account and proof of correspondence with the support group
I'll create a second complaint with the other email address too.

I ordered Match.com's Expert Picks. They advertise it as one expert pick per week, but they do not deliver on that. I have not been receiving any expert picks. When I emailed them to ask for a refund since they are not delivering on their service, they refused.So essentially they stole my money because they aren't delivering on their service. I been shadow banned on my account without knowing why for almost a year until I finally deleted my account and I was paying for subscriptions the whole time and felt like my money was wasted because they dont actually tell you when youre shadow banned.Business Response
