Thieves. Literally just stealing money from me. Two cards on file specifically So I don't have to worry about late fees but they hold my autopayment until it's late. They also refuse to stop charging me, even though I've canceled the membership over two months ago. They also fraudulently signed me up for Personal Training lessons without my knowledge and charged me and extra 160 bucks each month.Review from Eric M

I had a membership with trufit and one time I was approached by a personal trainer and went to one training. I told the trainer about my bad knee and they still demanded a hard workout from me ;therefore I got injured there. I didn't attend for a long time the trainer nor the gym, I still got charged each week for the personal trainer and still am getting charged. I went to speak to them,. They told me Ithat I need a doctors excuse. I didn't go back until month after they told me that. I spoke to the manager and she said she can't remove them or even cancel my membership until I get a doctors excuse or pay the balance. I told them I am an adult. This isn't high school or job to ask for a doctors excuse.Review from Juan S

I was changed from 1 membership to another without notice or authorization. It all came to light by the alert triggered from my account deduction from TruFit. I had spoken with the site manager and he had to speak to his higher ups to find out what had happened. He wasn’t even aware of the changes TruFit had done. According to his higher ups, they had made changes to their memberships and I got moved. I asked for the advertisement for this or email or any notifications of these changes and TruFit was not able to produce any information. I also requested my original agreement and they could not produce that either. They wanted for me to cancel and re-enroll back to my original membership. I was ok, as long as TruFit waives the fees for enrollment and the annual fee since I had just paid them the annual fee the previous month and they said NO. I would have to pay that all over again. I tried to working with them but they definitely did not want to work with me and TruFit just wanted for me to pay everything all over again. They wouldn’t even consider giving me any credit of any kind. The FACT that you’re authorizing and agreeing on a set amount to be deducted monthly on your bank account, does not give them the liberty to garnish what they please without your consent. It is morally and unethical what they do to do the customers. A customer should always have full control of how much and to whom they authorize to get paid from their accounts. I am sure I was not the only one shifted this way.Review from Carol J

They charged my card without my permission. Would not give me documents that pertain to my personal training and gym membership. Told me they would take me to collections and would not honor anything they said. Manager would not help me and no one to contact for this issue. They are a horrible company and I would not join their club. The club is in Bryan Texas, Town CenterReview from Florin Z

I joined yesterday and I was concerned about the reviews I read about them overcharging for membership and charging cards even after the official cancellation. Their website advertise 3 packages with the basic one at $10. If it is too good to be true... Basically, they charge you 33% ($3) on top of that if you don't provide them with your checking/savings bank account. This is a requirement that cannot be found on their website nor in the Membership agreement you sign. Besides that, there is an Annual "Improvement " fee of $55. I never heard of something similar. So, without any other services they try to upsell you on, this brings your basic membership to $17.6. Therefore, 76% more than what is advertised on their website. Overall, still a good deal assuming that the facility is clean and functional. It is just so disingenuous close to the false advertisement limit. When asked about the legal written stipulation about the 33% increase if paid by credit card as used to in the business, they will tell you that you are verbally informed about that and this is enough. There were several other aspects that made this first experience the worst I ever encountered in a gym, so I am currently weighting joining a more trustful service provider.Review from Tyra W

The gym has gone downhill since TruFit bought ******* several years ago. Currently in Bryan/College station there seems to be more broken equipment than functioning equipment. Multiple stair steppers, treadmills, and over half of the spin bikes do not work. The gym is also not getting cleaned. The same hair and dirt has been in the group x rooms for at least a month now. I have asked local managers and they have told me they have to wait for cooperate… it’s been 2.5 years for some of the equipment. Members are paying a membership to use the equipment… but how can we when it’s not maintained or cleaned?Review from Rene G

The plan was to have a human encouraging me to work out but my paid TruFit Personal trainer... just disappeared on me. It was sad that even after "service recovery" I had to be advocating for my trainer sessions, remind them I was paying for it. I decided to cancel my TruFit memberships in November 2023. Ware RD manager wouldn't take my request for canceling even after learning my trainer had just been banished. He sent me from the McAllen Ware Rd Location to the ***** ***. The new trainer did service recovery at first and even accommodated my best time, but there was a least once he forgot to book me for my paid trainer session. I had to ask for my session. I felt with no choice but to spent my contract time. It just felt sad to be contacting my trainer to ensure I would get my money's worth. I clearly asked for the trainer session and gym membership cancelation more than three times and was told by the front desk person that my cancelation was finally completed. I asked if they could please ensure I did not have to go to the gym again physically and made sure it was done in person as asked. I even asked the front desk for cancelation on paper. The trainer had me sign a form instead explaining the process of cancelation, but then showed me it was canceled on the computer. He asked me to go to the Ware Rd location again to cancel my gym membership there. I did. I even did my 30 days (because I had paid my membership till then), since somehow, I couldn't cancel in December. My last day according to them was the last day of January, with my paid membership. But I was charged for January and February by looking at my account. Is canceling a membership no longer like the old days when you would trust the person in front of you to do the work? I remember the given terms. They said I had no contract; I paid my yearly fee once. I am a healthcare provider. How will I feel comfortable asking my patients to get a gym membership?Review from Lianeth S

When I enrolled I did not want the personal trainer but they told me I could try and cancel at any time. After 2 weeks I was never provided any ordinal trainer services so I chose to cancel. The lady said I could not cancel and that I was under contract. I reminded her that she had advised me I could cancel at any time and she kept on saying that she had never said that. I decided to put a stop payment on all of their payments and if needed o will close and open a new bank account. I am not paying for a service I do not use and was mislead into.
