Purchased solar panels from company in 2015. Developed issues with equipment in March 2024. First reported issued on 03-25-24. Paid $364 on 04-26-24 for repairs. Subsequently developed issue with additional panels. Multiple emails and calls resulted in additional payment of $144.50 on 08-21-24. Additional issues developed so repair call was changed to a diagnostic and paid additional $434 but understood i would be credited with previous payments. No refund or service provided. Service person did not appear until 09-12-25. Diagnosed issue as 5 faulty optimizers that would be under warranty. CAM Solar yet to complete repairs or explain delay. Has now been 1 year since I first contacted them and appear to have greatly overpaid for repairs.

      Business Response

      Date: 04/07/2025

We are still working with SolarEdge to get the optimizers replaced. SolarEdge had requested additional information but sent the request to an incorrect email address and then closed the case.

I am rejecting this response because:
My issue has yet to be resolved despite promises that CAM Solar is working on obtaining the warranty parts. Also, yet to hear back about my complaint of overpaying for the expected service.

We have opened a second case with SolarEdge. We will replace the parts once we receive the replacement part from SolarEdge. As for the payments, the first payment that was made was to swap 2 optimizers but then it turned out that the string went out and we needed to go out on site to do the evaluation, which is what the second payment was for of a total of $578. The deposit was $144.50 and the final amount was $434.00. We still have to swap 5 optimizer and you have already paid for 2 back on 3-25-24. Thank you kindly.

During a service call about 9 months ago CAM Solar technicians disconnected a panel on our roof. They overlooked reconnecting it. I have been reaching out to them for over 6 months, requesting that they send someone out to reconnect the panel, but they havent. Meanwhile, that panel is aging but not delivering any power to our system.

      Business Response

      Date: 04/07/2025

We did come out to evaluate the customers roof and we did connect the panels back up. She had a micro inverter go out around the same time. We were able to get the micro inverter replaced the through the manufacturer and we were just waiting for the part to arrive. Below is the the case for here site.

CamSolar Energy installed solar panels in our house promised us we'ill not have to pay ***** anything since we will be producing 100% of our energy usage. The system dropped production. We knew the fact after Greenmountain was taking our credited energy to pay for energy usage from ***** due to low performance of the solar system. We reached out to CamSolar to help take a look at the problem but CamSolar ignored us, refused to return calls. We reached out to GoodLea, CamSolar remained adamant. We sorted for help from another solar company; ****** professional technician came to help take a look at the system without charging us anything. It was discovered that the solar connection box contained melted, burnt, corroded and naked wires / cable which were leaking energy. The technician was surprised our house didn't burnt down. With our permission, the technician called Camsolar, reported the situation; they both agreed the issue is fire hazard. CamSolar instructed the Sunrun technician to help them switch off the affected system and commented that CamSolar person will come out to fix the issue. Till date CamSolar didn't show up. We contacted: **** *******, the sales person no more with CamSolar; the service department several times; made calls to the owner (***** ******) with no response. We experienced lots of installation issues with this solar system. CamSolar used inferior materials. CamSolar stressed us out, caused us emotional and financial pains. Up till last week, CamSolar is on the point of penalizing me and my family for their installation error and refused to fix the problem. ***** was blaming Sunrun for helping switch the system off. CamSolar doesn't care if the house burnt down or if people die because of his error, as long as he is getting richer. We finished paying $86, ****** for solar within 3yrs, and still paying huge money in monthly eletric bill, to Greenmountain. Which was not what we were told by CamSolar, initially.

The customer had another ********************** company out to work on their system back in 1/2024. We do not know what has been done to their system. We sent the customer a quote several times to the customer and let them know that once they approve it we would be more than happy to come out. They have told us they have not received the quote so then we send it to another email address and send it via text. We have spoke to the customer multiple times regarding this issue.

I purchased solar panels from Cam Solar about four years ago. My solar panels are no longer producing power for about a month now. Ive emailed and called Cam Solar without any reply. I cant go to another company because Cam Solar installed and the equipment is from their company.

We have been trying to reach the customer since back in Oct 2024 to let him know his inverter was out and needed to be replaced. He finally approve his quote for the labor to swap the inverter on Dec.13, 2024. We sent him the 50% invoice that is required to get schedule (the final 50% is due after completion of the work) and he has not paid to get the work scheduled.

      Complaint: 22834793

I am writing to express my concerns about the recent email I received from Cam Solar requesting a $250 payment for scheduling a service. I find this method insufficient and alarming for the following reasons:

      1. The email arrived out of the blue, with no preceding phone calls or communication.
      2. Given these circumstances, I am worried that the email might be a scam.
      3. To address my concerns, I suggested paying the upfront cost upon the technician's arrival and settling the remaining amount after the service is completed. However, I received no response to this proposal either.
      4. Despite my request for information regarding my solar panels, Cam Solar has not provided any response.

I hope to resolve this matter promptly and efficiently. Could you please provide clarification and assurance regarding the legitimacy of this request?
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I had cam solar remove the panels on my home to replace the roof , done by Total Roofing. After the roof was replaced, there apparently should have r been an inspection on the roof before the solar panels we reinstalled. Cam solar had a guy come out and replace the panels before the inspection was done. The inspector says the panels need to be removed again so the roof inspection can be done, then reinstalled again. He has contacted Cam solar several times as well As I have over the rest of 2024 , to get this done. Cam solar is not doing this, and now the city wants to put a lean on my property. I'm 65 almost 66 yrs old and feel the are taking advantage of me. What can I do?

      Business Response

      Date: 01/13/2025

We reinstalled the panels per the customer's request. She called multiple times (12/21/23, 12/27/23, 1/2/24 and 1/3/24)  to have us come out to reinstall the panels after the roof was completed. At that the time we did have a permit with the city for the remove and reinstall but we currently are no longer register with this AHJ. I attached a copy of the permit that we pulled for the work at that time.

I am rejecting this response because:I never called them to replace the panels. One of their employees showed up on a Saturday while I was at work and told my son he was going to get the roof ready to replace the panels. The following week someone showed up when I wS at wotlrk again and put the panels on my house. 2 days later the roofninspector failed  me on the inspection because the panels were put on the house before the inspection was done. My phone calls were to have them remove the panels so the inspection could be done and then replace the panels as my email to them clearly states.

      Complaint: 22778816

I am rejecting this response because: i Did not call them to replace the panels only to remove them after they were replaced in error before the inspection was done. Please note the inspector contacted them as well multiple times. IM WONDERING IF THEY CONFUSED ME WITH THE OTHER CONTRACTED PERSON IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD. AS IN MY EMAIL DATED 16 JAN 24 I was in total confusion as to what was going on. They should know where their employees are and what job they are on. Not just showing up to get a head start on a job. When the inspection had not been done. And they should have contacted me directly to ensure the inspection was completed before sending anyone out to ready the roof for panel replacements. The contract they enclosed was the original contract for the job.

I purchased a solar panel system from Cam Solar in 2019. Since its installation, the system has experienced multiple failures. One of the inverters has malfunctioned three times, requiring two replacements. Despite the verbal assurance at the time of purchase that the warranty would cover all costs, I have been forced to pay labor expenses out of pocket. Furthermore, I have received no compensation for the excess energy costs incurred during the prolonged periods of system downtime while awaiting ********** July 2024, I identified that one of the panels was not functioning and promptly reported the issue to Cam Solar under Quote #*****. On August 8, 2024, I paid a $140 deposit for the repair. However, as of today, no appointment has been scheduled to replace the optimizer, which your team identified as the root cause of the problem. This delay is unacceptable and falls far short of the service and reliability I was assured when purchasing the system. I request immediate action to resolve this matter, including scheduling the necessary repairs without further delay and addressing the additional costs and inconveniences I have incurred due to these ongoing issues.

On February 16, 2024, I received an email from Solar Edge stating there is an update to cellular modem that came with my solar system. I need to reach my installer which is CAM Solar for this update. I reached out to CAM Solar and paid $259.00. So I paid this on March 21, 2024. Then I was told to wait for Solar Edge to send the cellular modem card to CAM Solar. I have made several calls and have send emails as well from March - July. I left a message on November 15, 2024. I finally spoke to someone on November 15, 2024 and she said she would talk to her manager / boss and she would contact me by phone or emaild and she never returned my phone call or email. I have made several calls and sent emails on December 10th and 12th, 2024 and never responded. I have also reached out through online chat and they forward my call to CAM Solar and again no one answers the calls they just send the calls to leave a message.

SolarEdge refuse to issue a replacement cellular card for this customer, so we issued a refund for the labor to swap the cellular card. My inverter went out in July. It was under warranty but took almost a month to get the part and for them to get here to replace it. Two days later my system stopped producing again. I was told it was the ** disconnect box.and I needed to replace it - they wouldn't come out to check it. I had to have it checked out and it was not the ** box. Someone came out around 2 weeks later and discovered that the new inverter box was the problem and needed replaced...again. That was at the beginning of October. We are now almost mid-December and I have heard NOTHING from this company. I have called and left messages several times trying to find out if a new inverter box has even been ordered or something, anything but nothing but silence. I have had to pay 4 full, high electric bills as well as the solar panel payment. I want/need them to come out and fix the issue NOW - not in another 3 months and I want them to pay at least half of the electric bills I have had to pay since October when they came out and discovered the problem and then never returned.

      Business Response

      Date: 12/11/2024

After we swapped the inverter in September the customer let us know that it quit working. The customer let us know she had someone else check the ** disconnect and that there was nothing wrong with it but we sent a tech out and our tech did determine that the ** disconnect needs to be replaced. The customer refuses to believe that the disconnect is the cause of the problem.

I have been having issues with my solar panels that were installed by CAM Solar. The time in which the issue it was reported to the time it was resolved was 3 months when I was told it would occur before. Payment was made and was told that the other half of payment would be taken care of the warranty. When issue was finally resolved they requsted the other half of payment. They said that the individual that had told me the time line and about the warranty covereage was fired. I asked for adjustment of pay for the length of time that it took to resolve the issue, the lack of communication on their part, and the financial damage that was cause due to their lack of action. I was told that could be taken care of but then it was taken back by another agent. and now I continue to have issues but I'm unable to reach anyone. When trying to call the office they never answer. No matter what time or day I call the phone is never answered. using their chat featureand they attempt to connect me but goes straight to voicemail. My inoformation is forwarded to the office but I do not recieve a phone call back, emails have been sent and no response. I have no way or any other idea of how to contact them. I just want them to answer the phones and resolve my issue.

We had did a service call and swapped an inverter for the customer. The customer approved the quote and paid 50% of the invoice at signing the other 50% was due after the work was completed. Once the work was completed the customer refused to pay, When we called to called to collect payment she told us to send her to collections she will not pay so good luck getting our money.

      Complaint: 22640391

I am rejecting this response because:

I was informed when the $500 was first brought up that I would have to pay half and the other half would be taken care of because I had a one time adjustment with my warranty. That was told to me by the woman that was later fired. And finally when I was able to get a hold of you all I was told that compensation would be possible once the issue was resolved. That didnt happen.

Your response to the issue was unacceptably long especially without any type of communication on your part. Your business is next to impossible to get a hold of by any means. Why dont you answer your phone?

Im now dealing with another issue and have been trying to get a hold of you for 2 weeks. No response to my emails, my messages, your chat feature on your website cant get a hold of you either, and you never answer your phone.

All I want at this point is communication. Look at the rest of the complaints. Lack of communication is your biggest issue. Maybe work on fixing it. Your customers deserve better.
