1st time at this store. Everything was fine at 1st At check out time we had the worst encounter with *** the cashier - heavy set and has some Pokmon tattoos. This person began insulting me in a low voice because we forgot to label some of the items we had gotten like one of the olive oils and some gummy bears. He grabbed the items and stormed off to personally label the items- he did this a series of 2 or 3x 5 min intervals mind you (Had he said that, we would of gladly ran back and put the labels) - again began to mumble things under his breathe after he came back and I apologized even after I heard him insulting me. When it came time to pay he was so upset because I accidentally tried to tap my card instead of inserting and Again he began cussing repeatedly and thats when I asked are you ok,? Im really sorry youre having a bad day. He said Im tired of you customers not labeling anything and me having to do it- Im just so tired of you customers- you dont even know how to do anything right my partner stepped in and asked if there was problem ? he told him yeah what are you gonna do about it and proceeded to try to get my partner to fight him And he just kept going and going about how dumb I was for not knowing how to do anything! And that he didnt have respect women after my fianc told him to please have some respect. We paid a good amount of $ for our groceries and are shocked by winco foods employees behavior. maybe thats a normal occurrence at ***** with *** as far as violence (according to the lead) but Im not used to being treated like that nor having someone trying to fight my partner at the grocery line I finally asked another cashier to help us because we werent getting anywhere and management never came. Worst part is I had my 10 year old son witness this! Lead clerk ********* came and helped out and apologized and said that it was odd that he made it a point to go to personally label them when all items are in the system.Review from Rachel L

They have defective shopping carts once again. It is not possible to find a working shopping cart. They do not care about their customers because everyone is forced to push around defective carts. No matter what I say or do they refuse to repair their defective shopping carts.Review from Arielle H

My wife and I (two women) were discriminated against while buying groceries. The cashier demanded to see my ID (we had alcohol) even though I was not purchasing anything. She kept saying it was a state law but I looked and that was not the case - only the person buying has too show ID. I was confused cause this has never happened to us before. I left to go get my ID and while I was gone she rang up a couple our age (man and a woman) who were also buying alcohol and did not ID either of them. The other couple commented to us and the cashier how messed up it was to be so obviously discriminatory. The cashier then commented that my wife and I didn't have the same last name so it was "clear we were married". Um, what!? So many people who are married don't take each other's last names. We talked to the manager who wasn't entirely helpful just said to make a complaint online. I understand if this is a "house rule" but don't say it's Oregon law or then not be consistent with everyone with your "house rule".Review from Anthony T

Caught them in a classic bait and switch. Charged me **** for a box of cereal labeled as ****. After they confirmed the lower cost was correct for that product, they refused to honor the price. Check your reciepts. I'm sure this isn't the only bait and switch they pull.WinCo Foods, Inc. Response

10/10 the till total was $1000+ higher. Non English speaking wife was charged **** for a ***** tab. Bank statement is always late and she saw it yesterday. Management would only help if she had a receipt for 10/10 . I go every couple weeks for a handful of things, but we will never go back. Incompetent workers. Get what you paid for applies ??????Review from LYDIA M

I'm 9 months pregnant and rely on their electric carts. Their electric carts in ********** location are so faulty that I had to go back and get 2 more carts. Then when I called to report it, the ppl standing by the phone ignored my call. I called today and spoke with assistant manager ***** who sounded drunk and asked me "what do you want us to do about it?" She didn't even listen to my story and rushed to get me off the phone. I began having pain in my abdomen from the experience of getting up, sitting down, getting up, sitting down. Yet they want to offer no compensationReview from Eric A

*** (Loss Prevention Agent);Grocery store security Guard; etc... Right when I parked at the Winco Foods apparently an *** was waiting for me. I was merely there to acquire a dishwashing sponge, some watermelon, some pineapple, firm tofu, some Chinese sweet pork, croissants, AA batteries, and avocados. When I walked into the store, the *** "secretly" walked in before me. Now I am an American born half-Chinese half-Caucasian man whose Dad served in the U.S. Army for 27 years retired First ******** E-9, and my Mom is Chinese who worked for the U.S. Embassy during the ******* era helping to export important Government officials from ******* to the U.S.A.I look like a decent fellow without any tattoos or ear or nose rings, I dress nicely, and I am well-groomed and clean shaven and I have short hair. In other words, I look like your average tax-paying citizen not a thug. I walk into the Winco Foods, and when I am partway past the cash registers walking in I notice someone coming fast from behind me - it was the *** and I noticed he was coming in extra fast therefore I turned around and I just looked at him because I exactly knew who he was at that point. It was about 4:30am when I entered the store. So, I go about my little shopping, and employees tended to stare at me for some unknown reason. And, that in itself is quite unnerving, if you will. Am I supposed to "hurry up"?.... I was not in a hurry besides isn't it better if I find more things to buy because in all reality it is the profits from selling the groceries and everything in the store that pays the employees wages correct? And yet they are trying to hurry me out?.. meanwhile, the *** is still pursuing me for some illogical reason acting like I'm a humongous danger or something to everyone. Finally, the *** came up from behind really fast again when I was unawares searching for the items on my list. Fortunately for the store I was not detained at the register otherwise discrimination files charged.Review from Elizabeth S

WinCo, in *****,********.... If you are reading this it's probably too late and you have been burned by WinCo.... I stopped in after working all night to buy my kids milk, cereal, juice, bread, you know the necessities. I bought myself a salad with chicken for my dinner, I worked all night and didn't have a chance to eat, so I was really looking forward to this meal. I went to pay and their machine glitched, it charged my card but it didn't print a receipt, so I called the cashier over and she said she would re-run it but this time it was "declined." I showed the cashier on my phone that my bank account had indeed been charged. She tried to correct the computer error but couldn't, so she calls in the head cashier, ***** who also couldn't fix it. Not only could they not fix it but they kept my money and my groceries, stating that I would have to call bookkeeping in the morning that they could not let me walk out of there with my money or my food! I was quite upset, as one might expect, working all night and they keep my money and my food. I was in tears!!!! The following day I did receive a credit but I went without my dinner and my kids had to wait as well. Awful!! How can they do that to a person? It should be a crime, probably is!
