I rate Expedia a big fat zero. Their site makes booking easy but God help you if you need to make changes. There is no customer service and when I complained, I was met by indifference from agents with vague titles. Desperate to speak to a human being to ask for help, I googled a phone number and even though the agent stated they were Expedia, it was actually a company called Travel TSX and I was scammed for $600. My credit card company helped me dispute the charges. Expedia only cares about making money when you are booking, there is total lack of support for anything else. Shame on you Expedia.

While traveling abroad, I needed to rent a vehicle for one day. Using a well known app, I found a vehicle that I could get a nearby airport, for about $25-30 a day. It needed to be pre-paid, through Expedia, but that was fine. The actual rental company was one I hadn't heard of before, "Surprice". I wasn't too concerned. I'd used Expedia before, and trusted them. My first alert was that the address on the confirmation, for the rental pick up was wrong. Second alert was the phone number was wrong. Finally, when I foudn the location, the name on the building was for AutoOne, with a small sticker on the door that said, "Also Surprice". Regardless, I needed a vehicle, and they provided. The took my credit card, and said they would charge me if the vehicle wasn't full when brought back. So, I returned the vehicle in less than 24 hours, with a full tank. I get back from our trip, and find that I have been charged for a one day rental, from "AutoOne", on a vehicle that I prepaid for through Expedia. I contact Expedia. They requested a copy of the bill, from AutoOne. I send them a copy. Expedia first trys to say that I can't be refunded for the cancellation. I explained I didn't cancel, I was double charged. Then they say they contacted *******, and they refused to refund. I really didn't care who refund me, whether it was AutoOne, or Expedia. I don't like being bait and switched into paying twice for a product or service. At this point Expedia has washed their hands of it. So, Expedia can take the hit on the review. If the name is Expedia, Surprice or AutoOne, go the other way and seek reputable travel providers.

There is no human soul behind Expedia. Their system cancelled my auto reservation after the screen turned black and produced some weird computer codes. Then they charge me cancellation fee and never refunded my money. When I disputed the case. They send me some ignorant letter and took no responsibility. They just gobble out my hard working money. I do not recommend Expedia for travel planning. There are so many other travel sites who I never had issue with. They should go out of business if enough people complain for their misconduct behavior.

I didn't go to this property because of flooding and a state of emergency due to a tropical storm. I contacted both the hotel and Expedia, as I was aware that this was a non refundable purchase. I reviewed the trip protection and this would not cover the weather related issue because the storm was no longer considered a hurricane. The hotel told me that I would need to request a refund from Expedia and Expedia told me that they would have to contact the hotel "on my behalf" to get a refund - both pushing the blame off on one another. I explained that we fully intended on going to this location, but we are concerned about unsafe driving conditions with our family going directly across the storm's path. I told Expedia that I did not want a refund, but the option to move my booking or get a credit for a future booking, as I understood that this was non refundable. After waiting 4 days, and not getting an answer until the day of travel, we opted to just stay home and take the loss in cost. I have been loyal to Expedia for 15 plus years; unfortunately, I will no longer be booking with them and we have already scheduled a new trip - at a different hotel. I have had my bookings canceled and change by travel sites and the customer is expected to be flexible, but this same courtesy is not extended from these booking companies.

I paid expedia over $1500 to stay in ***** at *************************. July 31- August 4. I drove 15 hours with 2 teens and an autistic year old son. When I got there , they're was so much mild and mildew I began to have an asthma attack and couldn't breath. I called expedia before leaving they said I would get a refund, I found a place to start on air bnb because I could not wait for them to get approval as I had restless kids that were ready to stretch their legs. I spent another$1500 on debt for a place 45 minutes from our destination. A week later I get a notification that expedia won't pay me back because the hotel owner said no!!! That is not fair! This is the absolute worst 3rd party company, I will NEVER use them again! I might as well but into a timeshare!

I received notice of a fraudulent charge on my account for a flight booked by a fraudster through Expedia. I have tried numerous ways to get in touch with an Expedia representative and have found it impossible to reach anyone by chat, email, and there are no phone numbers that reach anyone either. I will never book anything through Expedia.

I booked a hotel room through Expedia on 6/30/24 for a one-night stay on 8/3/24 in *********, **. When I arrived at the hotel, while checking in the hotel swiped my card. I thought nothing of it at the time. I went up to the room and to my surprise there was only 1 king **** and I reserved a 2-queen ******** So, I went back down to the front desk where I had checked in and asked to change rooms as there was 2 adults and 2 children in my reservation that I had booked, and we all were not going to sleep in 1 king size bed at over $200 for the night. I also asked why I was charged for the room as I had already paid through Expedia when I booked it. I was told there was no other rooms to switch to as the hotel was sold out for the night and there were also no cots available for my children to sleep on. The hotel said they could do for me was send up extra pillows and blankets. I was not happy with the situation, so I called Expedia and was on the phone for almost an hour trying to get this situation rectified. Finally, I was told I would receive $300 in OneKeyCash as a resolution to what occurred. I was fine with accepting this resolution but now I am being told nope they cannot offer me this. I am demanding Expedia that I deserve this resolution as it is the hotel and Expedia's problem that it occurred and not my fault. I was given a refund from the hotel for charging me twice so at least that issue was resolved but Expedia's customer service needs to do better. I was not the only guest this happened to. Multiple other guests that reserved through Expedia at the same hotel were given not what they initially booked. I do not plan to use Expedia again for any reservations and plan to just reserve directly through hotel websites if this is how you're going to treatment a paying customer.

After my refund I will be deleting my account with ******************** as they are liars and unreliable.

EXPEDIA SOLD ME A ROOM THAT WAS NOT AVAILABLE ! DO NOT FALL INTO THEIR GAMES BY PAYING MONEY IN ADVANCE.I haD booked a hotel by the online website of the HOTELS.COM which is a subsidiary of Expedia. I paid in advance $ 445,15 for 3 night stays at **************** Revma / *******When I arrived to the hotel , that I booked and paid , on July 17th at ***** PM , I was told by the Hotel Manager that the rooom I paid was unavailable. They told me that , the Merchant sold me a room that was closed for booking by the hotel.I was out at midnight , without any lodging , that made me sleep at outside in an unsecured environment.I contacted both ******************************** several times thru their online chat where they put zero effort to solve my problem. Finally they have given me a SD ID promising that they will reach to a solution quickly. They have my money since July 17th that makes me feel they had stolen my money for a service that was not available. They act like they are a big SCAM.I wil NEVER EVER AGAIN use EXPEDIA or any of her SUBSIDIARIES again.
