I have had a terrible experience with Expedia after years as a customer, not only the abuse of fees charged, but also the lack of communication, even when a manager called me twice to offer a credit, and never sent an email with the credit.Nobody answered after promising to give me the credit.I can attach the emails, letter, and send the phone calls I received from the Manager at Expedia.

I made an error and booked a hotel in ***** that has a no cancelation policy. I immediately tried to cancel (I mean 2 seconds after I hit reserve). Expedia said that the hotel has a no refund policy but they would check to see if they would cancel at no charge. the following day Expedia said the hotel would not cancel with a refund. I ended out keeping the reservation because my friend and I were going to go to ***** anyway and they wouldn't refund the money. It ended out that my friend was going to loose her job so we couldn't go after all. I contacted Expedia again and they said they would see what they could do. "A few days later they said we could not get our money back the hotel refused. Since then , going back and forth, the hotel told me they do not have my money that Expedia has it that once it was cancelled Expedia did not send them the money. This is a $1,290. error and Expedia should be refunding me.

Im giving Expedia two stars because their partnered vacation rental company **** is a complete and total scam. It is no wonder that its not accredited through the Better Business Bureau. After booking a two month long trip to ***** through Expedia, I decided to take a trip with my points down to the southern Oregon coast because that was where my kids were going to be enrolling for college. When I got to the property, it was owner occupied. This was apparent because They had to get dressed to come to the door and there was kid stuff in the living room. they thought I was arriving tomorrow not today and I showed them the confirmation email that showed todays date. They told me to come back in an hour because it was owner occupied and they had the wrong date. I decided to instead book a hotel room through Expedia a few blocks away. When I contacted VRBO about the problem, they decided to take the side of the property owner, who is obviously lying, and saying that this was the cleaning crew. I dont know of any cleaning crew that needs to get dressed to come to the door and doesnt have a vehicle to transport supplies from one location to the other on top of all of this there was an illegal second building a park model home behind the rental property. Something thats not allowed in the state of ****** unless its grandfathered ***** this time, I do not see any reason to continue working with Expedia, despite having done so much business with them this year and will be looking to other sites to book my future travel plans unless they decide to cut ties with **** WHICH I SEE ALSO HAS OTHER POOR REVIEWS, DESPITE NOT BEING ACCREDITED.

I booked a rental car and prepaid $650 which the rental car company did not honor. Expedia stole my $650 and did not offer a refund. In fact when I went on their customer service line, which is routed to *****, the incompetent customer service team member wasted 3 hours of my time and scammed me for an additional $200.

Booked a hotel in ***** the night before because i knew it would be cheaper than the day of. Get to the hotel ready to chill only to find expedia they did not have my reservation. I had multiple confirmations from expedia but the hotel had not received payment yet. I called expedia customer service and they tried to work it out with the hotel but couldnt figure it out. The hotel still had rooms but they were about $80 more now. I suggested expedia pay the difference since they screwed up and cost me $80 and an hour of my life. Expedia offered to get us a different hotel. It was a much worse hotel than the hotel we were already at and we would have had to spend money to get there. Company screwed up, cost us money and time with zero recourse for them. Never again.

I booked a flight and resort package through Expedia, and I was told that I could add another guest when I arrived. I have talked back and forth with Expedia, they agreed to refund me the initial payment for the resort and charge me the total for the additional guest. After charging me the additional cost, they said that I would be refunded in 60 days. Now I am at the resort, without a room or place to stay bc the resort didnt receive the modification and Expedia keeps saying that it takes time to modify. But they already took now 2 payments from my card. No one is willing to fix this problem. The resort is happy to do it on their end, they even asked to speak with Expedia on my phone and still hasnt gotten the modification email. And I had to pay the resort out of pocket for the first night bc Expedia has not sent it. Its not almost 24hrs and still no word back from them. Now I am stuck in a foreign country with no place to go.

Complaint Title: Expedia Refused Refund Despite Airline Cancellation Notice Complaint Details:I booked a flight through Expedia for ************************ Flight 888, scheduled from ********* (LAS) to ************ (SNA) on August 20, 2023.On the day of departure, I received a cancellation notice via SMS from the airline stating the flight was canceled due to weather, and that refunds would be issued to the original form of payment. I provided this message to Expedia as proof.Despite submitting this evidence, Expedia refuses to refund me, stating their system shows the flight as "completed." I never boarded the flight, and the cancellation was not my fault. Their response is unacceptable and dismissive, especially when clear proof has been submitted.Too much time has passed for me to dispute the charge through my credit card provider, and I am left with no refund and no support. I am requesting BBBs assistance in holding Expedia accountable and helping me receive the refund I am rightfully owed.

Subject: Formal Complaint Expedia Booking Failure Endangered Family Safety and Caused Emotional Trauma To Whom It May Concern,I am filing a formal complaint against Expedia for a failed hotel booking that endangered my familys safety and caused emotional trauma. On a recent trip from ***********, ** to **********, we booked a confirmed room at Studio 6 in *********** through Expedia. My husband and I, with our four children (ages 11, 5-year-old twins, and 2), arrived around 10 PM after a long workdayonly to be told there was no reservation and no availability. Despite presenting our Expedia confirmation and payment receipt, we were turned away. What followed was a 5-hour ordeal on the phone with Expedia, being transferred multiple times without resolution. No emergency lodging or assistance was provided, and we were left stranded, exhausted, and vulnerable in an unfamiliar city with young *********** 3:00 AM, with no other option, we had to make the dangerous decision to drive back homefatigued and distraught. This was a severe safety risk that could have ended in tragedy.Expedias failure to provide support in a crisis went beyond a booking errorit was negligence. We received a $500 refund, but that does not account for the emotional distress, danger, or ruined experience. The children were devastated. We were traumatized. We are requesting:A formal written apology Additional compensation beyond the refund An explanation of how this failure occurred and how similar incidents will be prevented A review and retraining of the customer service agents involved Confirmation of improvements to Expedias emergency support process If Expedia does not act responsibly and transparently, we intend to share this experience publicly. We trusted Expedia with our familys safety. You failed, and we deserve better.Sincerely,******* *****

Scam artists. I booked a hotel, drove 5 hours. When I got there the hotel I booked was completely closed, no power, etc. Literally not in service. When I called Expedia to get a refund they said that they would need to verify it electronically with the hotel and if they cant verify it with them then it wont be refunded. Tell me how it can be refunded if there is literally no power to the building? Seriously incompetent and very bad business.

I have tried to contact everyone and anyone regarding a refund for a Spark by ****** Woburn Boston cancellation as I had to take my children to say goodbye to their grandfather who was dying from ***** cancer. The lack of humanity that I have encountered from Expedia and ****** saying that they would not provide me a refund for this and critical tragedy that my children and I were experienced. I would do no business with either of them again due to the lack of humanity. Anyone that you encounter, please recommend that they do not interact with these companies as they like any professionalism and understanding with regards to family tragedies in the need to cancel.
