1 starI had an incredibly frustrating experience with Expedia. I booked a flight and was double charged $644.54 taken from my account twice. I reached out immediately and was told a refund would be processed, but days passed and nothing happened.I provided two ****** case numbers and one Expedia case number, yet I kept getting bounced around with no clear solution. Their customer service feels like a black hole you explain your problem over and over again to different agents, and it goes nowhere. This wasn't a minor issue. Over $600 of my money was just sitting in limbo, and all I got in return was canned responses and dead ends. Im incredibly disappointed with the lack of responsibility and ************** time Ill book directly with the airline. This experience was a wake-up call Expedia made what shouldve been a simple booking into a stressful mess.Review fromBrandy P

1 starA booking was made for my daughters birthday. I confirmed the suite I wanted 3 times with the agent. The crescent hotel doesnt have a 3 bedroom suite like I was sold. A month goes by and I thought everything was fine. I checked on my reservation but the agent booked me a 1 bedroom suite. There wasnt enough room for my children! The confirmation number wasnt emailed but texted too. I was devastated because there wasnt any rooms available to stay for the 4 of us at the **************. We had to cancel and book a room in a separate hotel completely. She wanted the ghost hotel and was so excited at the idea to be staying there. Now all I can do is just salvage this experience. I wont trust Expedia again. They lie just to get your money. I am so disappointed.Review fromAnson C

1 starNeed to rebook or cancel a flight due to medical reasons. Expedia customer service kept telling me to contact airline directly. The airline (**************), however, told me to have Expedia contact them directly as they are the 'travel agent' and that I cannot interact with them. So I contacted Expedia again, and they keep telling me to call the airline. Back-and-forth, each company is telling me to call the other company per their policy. I asked Expedia if they could just call the airline to get an answer and they refused, even as the 'travel agent.' It would appear that I should only book directly with the airline so that the airline could speak to me. Booking through Expedia did not allow me to talk to the airline directly and Expedia doesn't want to talk to the airline (maybe they are shy as I believe most folks work offshore). So, at the end, I am losing thousands of dollars of refund money (or not getting flight credit), because Expedia doesn't want to talk to the airline and has policies that are counter to that of the airline (or airlines). I have spoken to six or seven different people at Expedia and three different people at **************. If it is true that the travel agent must discuss medical-related refunds directly with **************, then Expedia is not willing to do so. At the same time, the airline does not want to talk to me because I am not the travel agent. Expedia's customer service agents to do not seem knowledgeable or well trained and simply recite policies that basically put the work back at the customer, not realizing that, as agent, they must represent the customer before the airline for circumstances such as these. Do not book through Expedia, as they will not lift a finger to call the airline on your behalf to make changes (refunds especially). I am out thousands to dollars and I hope other who read this will learn from my experience. Book directly with the airline!Review fromBethany W

1 starExpedia will not give refunds. I paid almost $1000 for a room for 7 nights. I only stayed two and even paid for booking protection and I keep getting the run around. They say it's up to motel. Motel is saying it's up to Expedia. this was the first and only time I've ever used them and will never use them againReview fromLucinda B

1 starWe're from **************, we reserved a room in ***************** where they had a pool and complimentary breakfast and allowed pets to go, we arrive at the hotel parking lot only to get a phone call from the manager of the hotel telling us that Expedia had allowed a room to be reserved when they didn't even have rooms available. Then Expedia tells us that the best that they can do is give us a hotel room either a half an hour or 45 minutes away from where we originally were reserving the room to be close enough to go do graveside visit for my father after he has passed away and is buried at a national cemetery. Expedia absolutely did nothing to help us, there are many other hotel rooms in this area as well as bed and breakfasts, a lot of options open to them, but yet we're told they cannot find us another room and then when I call the *********** they have rooms available! This hotel chain left a child a dog and a woman who just had got out of heart surgery left to sit in the parking lot instead of doing the right thing and paying whatever they had to to put them in a room after telling them they already had a room paid for and had taken the money out of their bank account which would take 72 hours to return do not ever use Expedia warn your family and friends to turn from them as quickly as they can boycott all things ExpediaReview fromRich D

1 starNever book flights through Expedia again. My wife daughter and I all had major issues. 1) lost my wife's luggage for 3 days so we had to buy new hiking boots, clothes, toiletries, and swim suits. No one seemed to care about the inconvenience and was told "maybe it will show up tomorrow". That's just what a customer wants to hear..."maybe". 2) YOU sent my daughter a message saying the second flight to Contour was canceled. This was incorrect. The flight was not canceled but we still spent 2 hours on the helpless line getting it resolved. 3) YOU sent me a message saying the return flight from ******* was canceled. This was also wrong. The flight was not canceled. YOU just canceled my seat. My daughter and wife still was on the flight. So, I had to buy another return ticket. Your partnership with Contour is terrible. Huge waste of time my time. We spent a total of 7 hours on the helpless phone line for a 1 hour flight. Results like this make we want to drive. I will be sure to tell everyone I know about my experiences with United.Review fromArtie S

1 starAfter realizing that customer-written reviews cannot be deleted, I reached out to Expedia Group Lodging Support Services to request their removal. They promptly opened a case and assured me they would respond within 48 hours. However, it has now been 18 days without any follow-up or communication.Review fromWilliam J T

1 starFrom the actual parking lot of ***************************, we booked our room because there was allegedly a pool available there. We walked inside to check in and was told the reservation had not been received yet and check in was not until 4:00 PM. We then asked for directions to the pool and we were told the pool would not be available for a few days until an inspection had been completed concerning the chlorine. We immediately tried to call Expedia to get the reservation stopped but nobody would talk to us because the reservation was in process. We tried several more times Saturday with the same results. We tried to contact them today about it and still can't get anyone to talk to us. They messed up and I want it corrected by refunding my money for misleading us. The only reason I booked that room was because Expedia said a pool was available when it wasn't.Review frommatthew k
