Milgard was contacted October of 2023 and told that our French Doors leading out unto our deck would no longer open as the lock refused to unlock or open. This was determined to be true during an 11/6/2023 service call. the door locking mechanics was no longer available and a new door was selected on April 15 (after it was determined the original door could not be fixed) 2024. The door replacement was turned over to ***** **** - Product Liability Manager *************). We have called him several times and he no longer answers or returns our calls. My wife called Milgard twice since and asked why we haven't received a replacement door and there have been no results. (Milgard products come with a lifetime warranty.) We would like to have our doors replaced so we have easy access to our deck again. Note: We have had positive results in the past with Milgard.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: We have been waiting for close to two years to get our doors repaired. An offer to reach out to us "as soon as possible" is just more of what we have been hearing for a long, long time.

I purchased complete Home window replacement for my Home through Lowes-***************** ( the windows are manufactured by Milgard ), The back bedroom window has been a leaking problem every rain storm. I have contacted Lowes and Milgard about this problem, Lowes tells me that this is not an installation problem and is past their 1-year warranty period. Milgard tells me this is not manufacturing problem and is not covered by warranty. The window center pane has been replaced once already because it filled with water. I have written and provided pictures, videos and a full description, I have given both company's plenty of time to respond and make this right, both company's refuse and tell me this is my problem. I called Lowes Warranty, ***************** & the Project installation departments. I had an appointment to inspect my window yesterday but that appointment was cancelled by the Lowes window technician. The window install tech called to say " this is not what I do", he sent me an email with more forms to fill out. Between Lowes & Milgard this is going on 5 + weeks to try to get this problem resolved, I have provided all information/paperwork,videos, pictures and a complete explanation of what the problem is. I keep getting the run-around from Milgard (saying "we do not do window installations and only build windows") and Lowes (saying "this is past the normal warranty period and it is a Milgard problem"). I can't believe the poor level of customer service from both compans. I paid for new windows for my Home and had them installed so there would not be any problems, all I'm getting is frustration with both companies pointing the finger at each other "saying this is not our problem it is theirs". I now think they do this on purpose to create a loophole to avoid taking care of the Customer and doing what is Right!

There is no way to contact Milgard's headquarters, but the little info that we can find indicates that they are out of ** with several other offices throughout the **. The ** is now operating under the name of ************ and the CEO is **** ****** (no way to contact and **** will not give any info). We filed an online warranty claim back in Oct 2024 for our wrapped threshold on a sliding door. Our house is only 7 yrs old. Milgard sent a service tech out (from **) on De ************************************************************* Jan. ** date, all we have received phone calls saying that the scheduled appoints had to be cancelled, as the part that came in is not the right one. We have talked to their CS **** several times and still can't get a straight answer as to why they can fix the door. As of yesterday (3/12), a gentleman called and said that the part that they were supposed to install tomorrow (3/14) is still not the right one and they cancelled the follow-up appointment. The gentleman could not give us any ***. Would Like this issue resolved before it gets hot again. Unfortunately, if you look up Milgard or Miter on line the only way to talk to someone is to contact their *************************** which has not been of any help. According to their website they think that they are the only Window and Door **mpany available to potential customers.Business Response

I have made several attempts to contact Milgard about replacing windows at our condo in *********. The windows all have moisture in-between the panes. I have sent at least 10 or more emails as well as made phone calls to the company. They warranty the windows for life. This is the 3rd time that windows have needed to be replaced. Every time I call, I get a different person at the call center. They make empty promises to call back in one or two days to follow up and have yet to keep that promise. Last summer in August they came out to look out the windows and never followed up. When I called back a month or so ago, they had closed the case without us even knowing. I have also left two messages with a supervisor. She has never contacted me.Business Response

The summary of my problem:In conclusion: Since Feb 2024 Milgard has admitted their patio doors have exterior cosmetic manufacturer defects that cannot be fixed, and that one of the doors has both cosmetic defects as well as a functional defect that they already agreed to fix but have not. I have requested from Milgard two replacement sliding doors in all black to be installed at my expense. However I am unable to get action or even contact from management in order to resolve this dispute. I ask that you, the Better Business Bureau assist in this dispute as I would be very appreciative to get this resolved. April 18, 2022 Case# ******** This was the first documented claim against Milgard Manufacturing. I was contacted on June 7, 2022 by a Representative of Milgard Miles ****** via email. He provided his contact information and offered to discuss the issue. I spoke to him a few days later via phone conversation where I explained the issue and he said he would investigate a possible solution. Also, he stated that this series (model) should not have been sold in cold weather environments. During 2022 I spoke with Miles, I believe one more time by phone which he did not have any answers however assured me he would keep working on it. The winter of 2023 was extremely cold with am temperatures reaching (-11) degrees F. which resulted heavy built up condensation which froze on the inside frames. During this period, I left messages with Miles to get answers to this complaint. I did not receive any responds and then files another claim with Milgard and included the current issue as well as informing them we now have interior damage to the windowsills, wallboard and floor base. Attached is the second claim Case# ******** copied from there form.Business Response

My team has been made aware that this case has been opened and we are working internally towards a solution.

I am rejecting this response because: Milgard **** had stated on a phone call 11/15/24 at 1:53 PM that Milgard Manufacturing has denied this claim. They claimed the window is not defective and had performed as it should, however due to the cold climate these are installed in the window frames can develop condensation then freeze. I stated, Form THE BEGINNING, this is not a claim of defect in manufacturing, however it is a defect in the marketing, disclosure and sales representation which is no fault of the customer. ********************** through it's lack of information on it's broacher, technical installation guide, dealer and or distributer education of a potential issues of sever condensation due to adverse weather or climate conditions, is at fault.
Sincerely,
**** ******Business Response

Unfortunately **** is correct in his statement and the dealer that these windows were purchased through should have better communicated which window style would provide optimal performance
A note from our service team - "H/O has A250 window series and what this issue is all the windows in the home is producing condensation on the interior of the windows which freezes due to temperature change. This is not a warranty issue. The dealer should have talked about the possibility of what could happen to the windows in cold weather. Hopefully this helps."
There is no further action on the MILGARD end

I am rejecting this response because:The "Dealer" was not informed of the potential of condensation. I have spoken with the Dealer and the Milgard field representative Miles ****** as well as the Milgard Windows & Doors
Customer Service Team many times on different occasions regarding the condensation issues. The issue is the Dealer was not properly educated from the field **** nor any literature provided to them. Miles ****** has admitted to me as such. This is year Three in trying to get Milgard Windows and Doors to correct a defect in there marketing which now is causing potentially tens of thousands of dollars in damage to our house. Please ask Milgard Window and Doors if they are willing provide remedy for this issue.
