This bank lost 2 of my US transfers, I called them daily no one ever answered the phone. I came in twice to speak to a manager who was always to busy to speak with me yet the bank is always empty. Promised to call me back, but never did. I forwarded my issues to the head office in Toronto where I was offered $300 meanwhile my $4000 US transfers still have not been found. I honestly can't believe a Canadian bank can be run so poorly and still be open.

Not impressed with the Fraud department. End of August this year my account got hacked 3 times by **** *** ****** for $50 each shot. I called some one on the 800 number and was told to get a new card and pin number which I did. And told me also in 30 days would hear something about my hacked money. Was told **** *** ****** had to prove to Scotia bank that I actually used the service which I did not and never had. Approx. 3 months later I called and waited on phone for 52 minutes only to be told I never had a claim in no record of old bank card number as it was destroyed at time of new card given. Least to say if the bank needs my $150 that bad they can keep it. Getting to be as bad as an insurance company

Absolutely the worst bank I have ever dealt with! I cannot get away from them fast enough. My recent experience with their mortgage department was horrible, from them overpaying my previous mortgage and car loan with money from my credit line, to not providing me with a precise disbursement. A few months later, I went to fix my mortgage and the mortgage specialist provided me with inaccurate information putting me at a disadvantage to paying off my mortgage faster. My most recent experience, I tried to create a savings account to take advantage of their high interest rates, but good luck getting any money in the account. Since I couldn't directly transfer my money from my chequing from another back to the newly created savings account, I tried adding a negative balance to my credit line instead; however, their online system does not allow me to transfer my money into the savings account. On top of this, they opened a chequing account for me too which I did not request and of course it has high monthly fees. So to try to resolve the situation, I have since called THREE times. The first time, after talking to three different people, finally someone said they closed the chequing account... gave me a confirmation number and everything. But who knows that they actually did, as i still have a chequing account on my profile. The second time I called, I spoke to 3 different people over the course of 40mins for someone to finally tell me that the department I need to speak to is closed. The third time I called, I spoke to someone who said it would take them 3-5 days to transfer my money from my credit line to chequing account and that they could not put it directly into my savings account. Who knows how long it will take to transfer it to my savings account. When I asked them why it takes so long and why they can't put it directly into the account I want, they just said that's the way it is. So disappointed. They need to upgrade their technology!! Worst bank ever!!

Horrible bank. Client of 11 years and they took NSF fees of $48 for a $4 shortcoming. Not sure how this makes sense. But this is the typical evil bank you see in the movies. Shameful and disgusting banking practices. Will be closing all am accounts and movie to a better bank, which is any bank possible.

Have a HELOC, **** card & Mortgage with them. Online system is brutal. Payments via transfer happen within 1 day and are posted by other banks, but not Scotia. Takes 2-4 days to post transfer payments… so they can charge me more interest, of course. You have no idea what’s going on with your mortgage payments because the don’t show any transactions and only 1 year-end statement is generated. With rates going up as they have been, don’t they think people would want to see how their payments are being allocated ? I.e. principal and interest. Much more to say, but others have already covered them. ** ***** *** *** ** **** **** ****** Gee, ya think any of their VP’s bother to read any of these reviews? ** **** * ***** **** **** * ***** ** *****. I’m closing everything except the mortgage because I won’t give them the satisfaction of an early payout penalty.

I am a new customer to Scotiabank and soon to be an ex customer of Scotiabank. I’ve lost count as to how many times their ATM machines refuses bank notes. So many that I have to do up to 7 deposits, in a single transaction, to fully deposit my funds! Today was the absolute worst- the machine, once again, was refusing certain banknotes and informed me to remove the notes which were not even dispersed, so, instead the ATM acquired ALL of my deposit with no deposit receipt, nothing. It’s also Saturday and this bank has hijacked MY money until they fix this issue. What if this was the only money I have until my next pay to buy groceries, pay bills ie. rent? Time for a change!

****** **** ** ****** ****** ****** ****** ** ******* **** ***** ****** When my Father at 91 years old was put in a residence **** ******** ****** *** ***********, our family asked the Scotia Bank in Pointe Claire if they could release funds to pay for his residence. They could not help, even when me and my sister were executors of his affairs. He stayed fo a month and a half until we ran out of money at $6500.00 a month. A short time after that while my sister was at his house, he had a stroke and could not move from a stand up position in front of the sink. We asked Scotia again to help since my dad had 3 accounts at the bank, but, they could not help. He ended up in the Jewish General in Montreal for about 3 weeks when we placed him into the veteran's hospital in Senneville. With all the necessary paperwork from the Quebec government, we were sure that Scotia would now come through. No such luck. He passed away in June just before his 92 nd birthday, which made our powers useless as our legal rights were now in the hands of the notary and the will. We advised Scotia 6 weeks ago that we needed them to close the accounts including an investment acc't, and they are still dragging their butt. Now they say that it will be 10 days before they can release the funds* * ** *** * ******* ******* ***, I am at the end of my rope. ** ** * ** ******* *** ** ********* ** *** **** **** **** ***** I am going to give them till next week **** * **** ** ***** ** *** ****** *** ***** **** ****. How can someone treat a 91 year old person lkike this? We have to go to the notary next Tuesday to pay $750.00 to allow us to sell the house. We had to have part of the will translated for the Gov't of Quebec. Another $150.00 Thanks for NOTHING.

Waiting over 2 hours on the fraud complaint line is unacceptable. They are making record profits but cant staff up properly?
